The conference should go on. The issues with Sland can be adressed later. The focus should be on adressing the south for now.

Indeed its crazy. But thats the case when federal states wants to play hard ball with the somali gov. One would atleast hope that they knew whats best for them. I.e joining this conference but however as you said its great moment for somalia and the train will not stop because of spoilers.

^ Autonomous states of Somalia thats the future own army own security forces own flags own financial institutionS own navy forces own parliament own constitution. They might share the same name for the outside worlds and ask aid using the Somalia name and even use the same flag on some occasions. And share the same parliament, if Jubbaland manages to built its self the same way as Puntland did than that is the end of a modern Somali state. What we have today in Somalia is not federal states, hassan sheikh does not control Puntland, but Puntland cooperates with the SFG.
