Safferz Posted March 24, 2013 Boswellia frereana (known as Maydi, or Yigar in Somalia), one type of tree that produces frankincense (luban, or foox) from the sap found in its bark. Frankincense is only found in northern Somalia, Yemen and Oman. The production and trade of frankincense and myrrh have a long history in the Horn region, and some of you may be familiar with Queen Hatshepsut's voyage to the "Land of Punt" for these prized aromatic resins.
