Two Reliable And Valid Books Of Hadeeth

Recommended Posts

Saheeh Al Bukhari:

Although there is lot of work that is being done on hadeeth, however Saheeh Al-Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim are the most authentic sources for searching for various hadeeths. Meaning of word “Saheeh” is “Authenic”. Imaam was considered as the leader of hadeeth and he compiled Saheeh Al-Bukhari. Muhammad Ibn Ismaa’eel was born in central Asia in 194H. He travelled to Makkah, Madinah, ancient Syria, Iraq and Egypt for the search of knowledge. He worked very hard for seeking the right knowledge and spent almost 16 years of his life for the compilation of his work. He visited and leaned from more than 1000 scholars. There were almost 300,000 hadeeths that were collected by Imam Al-Bukhari and he also memorized many of them as well.

He has also written lots of books on Fiqh. However, the book of “Saheeh Al-Bukhari” is still regarded as the most reliable source of gathering hadeeth. It is a very reliable source to lock and find about the hadeeth. There are some group of people and scholars who try to find out faults and errors in this system, but they have not succeeded so far. This shows that Saheeh Al-Bukhari is regarded as the most reliable source and book of Almighty Allah.

Facts About Saheeh Al-Bukhari:

1) This book contains 7,275 hadeeths, which are collected and gathered from a large collection and source of hadeeths.

2) There are almost 2230 unrepeated hadeeths in it.

3) All hadeeths that are mentioned in it are authentic.

4) This Holy Book consists of hadeeths, derivatives, research and inductions while some think that it as a book of narrations.

5) Its every chapter contains relevant verses from Holy Quran that speak about the meanings of quoted hadeeths.

Saheeh Muslim:

Saheeh Muslim is another authentic book that contains hadeeth. Its importance is second with respect to Saheeh Al-Bukhari. This book was compiled by Imaam Muslim. He was born in 202H and died in 261H. He gathered all his collection of Hadeeth to Iraq, Ancient Syria and Egypt. He learnt from various religious scholars, most of these were the Al-Bukhaari teachers. Later on he became a very loyal student.

Some significant facts about Saheeh Muslim:

1) 12000 hadiths in this book were repeated while 4000 hadeeths were not repeated.

2) There are various narrations that are mentioned in the Saheeh Al-Bukhari, but they are with different narrators.

3) There are more than one hadeeth found in every chapter that might contain similar meaning, however their might be different chains listed with them. First Hadeeth in each chapter is the strongest one, that is followed by the weaker narrations that is important and necessary for improving the weaker narrations.

4) Its classification is excellent.

5) This book includes the detailed introduction of sciences of hadeeth.

Saheeh Al-Bukhari has given preference over the Saheeh Muslim, as its hadeeths are based on true authenticity.

Imaam Muslim(May Allah have mercy on him), did not look for the evidence of meeting from whom he is narrating, however according to him, it is enough to accept the hadeeth of a true narrator, especially if he lives in a similar time period. So, the condition of Imaam Muslim was very less strict that the actual and true condition of Imaam Al-Bikhari(May Allah have mercy on him). The Bukhari compilation is more reliable of these two. The arrangement of his material is recognized as much superior.
