President Farole announces Horseed ruling Party

Puntland president Abdirahman Mohamed Farole along with his cabinet ministers and parliamentarians has announced a new political party named Horseed Political Party, the first of its kind established in Puntland since its inception in 1998.

 

President said in his speech that they had done a lot ,and set rules and regulation , while mistakes and errors are inevitable.

 

“ Nothing is complete except the holy Koran, so we tried our best some errors can happen at any time”

The president said that Puntland people had the right to choose their leaders in democratic way, and we expect there would be opposition parties that know system and the process of democratization.

 

“I here by announce, the ruling party of the incumbent government ;it will contain, parliamentarians, ministers and regional governors. No one would be expelled from the paty, members wousd have eqaual rights” said the president.

 

The chairman of Horseed political party Abdirahman Farole said the founders of the party are comprising 209 members and the party would open its offices in 5 regions distrait of Puntland

GAROWE, Somalia Nov 14 2012 (Garowe Online) – Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole announced the incumbent government’s new political association in Garowe, capital of Puntland on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.

 

Horseed political association was announced by Puntland state of Somalia’s President Farole at parliament building in Garowe. President Farole was accompanied by Vice President Abdisamad Ali Shire and Ministers of Cabinet.

 

The political association is the first to register for an application in Puntland from the Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) and contains over 200 members. Horseed represents the incumbent government which is led by President Farole since January 2009.

 

President Farole gave a speech to parliament after announcing the first political party in Puntland discussing Puntland’s transition into a democratic system.

 

“Puntland’s shift into a democratic system is a major step in the right direction and I would recommend that politicians organize and form political associations as well,” said President Farole.

 

The President announced that membership of Horseed political association will be open to everyone after the association becomes an official political party.

 

Dahir Khalif Minister of Transportation and Public Affairs and Chairman of the Political Committee spoke at parliament on Wednesday regarding the announcement of a political association.

 

TPEC will evaluate Horseed political association in the next coming days to see if the party fits the requirements to be registered.

President Faroole declared the Horseed Political Association which will become Horseed Political Party after becoming one of the legally registered Political Parties in Puntland that will come out of the local elections in 37 districts Puntland is made of.

 

The Political Association is named Horseed (front-runner). It has a temporary chairman which is the President of Puntland Dr. Abdirahman and 209 member founders. It has offices in all five original regions that formed the Puntland State of Somalia.

 

The name Horseed (frontrunner or spearhead) was chosen to encourage other political associations and parties to also emerge and vie for the top political platform and vote of the people as Horseed Political Association is the Political front-runner of Democratization in Puntland.

The declaration was made at Parliament and it's motto is Peace, Progress and Development and marks the beginning of democratization of Puntland with the declaration of the Political ruling party Horseed Political Association.

Also the Emblem is the Gob Tree. Which is a Ever-Green tree that stays green even during the winter season and drought when other vegetation dies down.

The Ruling Party Horseed Political Association/Party was declared today in front of Parliament. The full process of registering will take longer as it needs notarization.

 

It is expected that at the end of February and start of March the Party/Association will be open for the larger Public and the Party's leaders chosen. Today was an official declaration of the Association only.

 

It is a process which will take a few months.

Somalia: President Farole assures 'democratization process will move forward’

GAROWE, Somalia Nov 16 2012 (Garowe Online) – Puntland President Abdirahman Mohmed Farole was a special speaker at a conference held in Garowe capital of Puntland, discussing democratization and current affairs in Puntland, Garowe Online reports.

 


Many Puntland government officials accompanied President of Puntland state, Dr. Farole to Puntland Development and Research Center (PDRC) in Garowe including Vice President Abdisamad Ali Shire and Ministers of Cabinet.

 

Members of Puntland’s Transitional Puntland Electoral Committee (TPEC), civil society, traditional elders, religious leaders, women and youth groups attended the 1-day conference at PDRC’s main headquarters in Garowe.

 

The democratization process in Puntland and the new political association announced on Wednesday by President Farole was discussed at the conference.

 

Peace advocate and religious leader Sheikh Abdiqadir Nur Farah praised the democratization process in Puntland.

 

“I support everyone who is working for the common needs of Puntland,” said Sheikh Farah.

 

Chairman of TPEC Mohamed Hassan Barre gave a brief statement of the democratization process. The Puntland Electoral Law was amended earlier this week among the changes; Chairman Barre explained was to lower registration for political associations.

 

President Farole closed the conference promising that the Puntland government would move forward with the democratization process.

 

“The Puntland Government assures that we will move ahead and completing the process is our aim.

 

“I commend TPEC for the hard work and the support from Puntland communities so Puntland transitions to a government selected by its people,” said President Farole.

 

The incumbent government led by President Farole announced its political association on Wednesday naming it Horseed.

 

TPEC will evaluate if Horseed political association meets the requirements before it could be registered as a political party.

I hope faroole is not foolish enough to destroy the fragile foundation PL is built on and in which many Puntlanders gave their lives for, there is nothing bad about making a political part so long as they dont you the states power to intimidate others and monopolize power, the last thing we need is a failed state within a failed state.
