I think a strong army in puntland is totally necessary. As farole said muhimada kowad ee dawlad kasta waa inu ciidan jira and that is the policy deal with it as bigger things happen. I believe our next goal as reer puntland is to encourage a policy to upgrade existing military hardware with modern hardware. This is the next goal

But Somalia and Puntland are one Puntland strength is Somalia's strength and Somalia's strength is Puntland strength. Dr Osman how long do you think Puntland can remain a semi autonomous state with its own capable armed forces and navy forces. Dr Osman why not establish a strong Somali armed forces and let Puntland have the lead in that. Now that Somalia is a federal republic its time to Build Somalia.

Xaji because we are building our federal state, We will contribute what is required to the somali govt when other states do the same. Anagu wajibkena waan gudan karna lakin we wont if others wont. We will continue building a strong puntland because puntland is ours.

A strong security sector is a must even the e.u now is helping puntland out knowing there is no going back from this other then continuing to build a strong force. Sxb wixi manta la gabtay iska daa beri waxa soo socodo ka baq

Why are people so against a strong puntland you do realize by doing that you are encouraging puntlanders to invest more and more in our security sector. As long as we believe there is a tangible threat to the people of puntland this won't stop and it will only continue to get stronger and stronger

Dr Osman its important to have a strong Puntland and its security forces are also welcome but dont you think after 15 years of Puntland existence as a state ,dont you think after 21 years of turmoil in Somalia. Its time to establish a strong Somali armed forces. Puntland is pretty secure it has police forces armed forces navy forces. Is it now time to establish all of that for Somalia why do you want to wait Dr osman why not be the leader its time to set the pace you have to show ur leadership skills like you're grandfathers did they were leaders Dr osman do you want to be a follower or a leader like King Osman and Sultan Ali Yusuf and President Abdirashid ali sharmarke.

Xaji you go tell that guy in mogadishu not me. Puntland is welcoming of every national govt that is in the interest of the nation. You dont see us mucaraad when we dont get a seat. Hell the boys in mog are even mucarad when they do get the seat. You need to put your efforts into bringing mogadishu to line not puntland. We are not the obstacle bro we have welcomed the new govt with open arms even though we dont have anything in it thats patriotism.

Dr osman i am not saying Puntland is an obstacle far from it Faroole spoke well welcoming the new government both the president and the prime minister. But i am saying Puntland is the most well established state in Somalia and the most well organized cant they contribute politically Militarily to the future of Somalia central and southern Somalia in particularly. You know the capacity of this current government in Mogadishu is minimum it needs the help of all the people of Somalia entities and governments. Dr osman sometimes you have to be the bigger man are you not a leader of Somalia so what if the folks in Mogadishu here and there act immature. Does that mean you should do the same no you should be an example you're selling you're self short Dr Osman.

Puntland priority should be first locally, this policy of hamar first and puntland second has been left behind with abdullahi yusuf and cade muse era. A new era has begun in Puntland were our efforts will be regional based which farole clearly showed somalis that he wasn't running for anything in mogadishu which I and many people was expecting him too because his term is ending 2013 while getting a new 4 year term in mogadishu seemed logical.

Anyways I am firm believer that puntland should come first. Because puntland folks are in migration pattern now rather then going south to hamar everyone is going up north. How many puntland people do you know that are building a house in mogadishu compared to how many puntlanders are building a home in puntland. I think farole made a wise decision to shift puntland politics officially by declaring his intention not to run for mogadishu becuz lets be real the people of puntland have shifted from mogadishu to puntland now.

As for farole there is not much he can do for mogadishu as they even refuse they're own kin in power. They will need to fix they're internal issues first before anyone else can help.

Dr osman Puntland has a President a vice president a parliament MPS a police force a military force its peaceful its secure it will be that way. But at the same time while Puntland is secure u are forgetting the bigger picture. Dr osman as long as Somalia is weak , Puntland cant thrive successively since Puntland is located in Somalia and linked with Somalia , Problems in Somalia will always hunt Puntland. So in order for Puntland to be in a better position Puntland needs to contribute to the peace and stability of the rest of Somalia.

Dr osman Mr Faroole is very much involved in southern and central Somalia politics he played a crucial role as one of the most important signatures when the transitional period was about to be ended. Puntland can continue to play such a role it doesn't need a prime minister or president to be effective in Somalia. Puntland has a whole functioning government in garowe. Dr osman its a win win you can be an example you can be a leader you can contribute to the peace and stability in Somalia and at the same time Puntland is secure and is making progress.

Do you see where i am heading do you see now where Puntland and Somalia can be in the next 20 years you need to look beyond the days of today you need to look in the future Dr osman you need to have a long term vision.

Brother, why wouldn't it be a good idea for the Puntland Forces to be integrated into the Somali National Army? If anything, Puntland should be very proud in being the leading Federal State in Somalia. The rest of Somalia is looking to follow Puntland's example, and if Puntland ignores the problems going on in the South, then what good is that for anyone? If the South is destabilized, then Puntland suffers as well. Having separate militaries in Somalia is a BAD idea.
