Chimera

That's more like it, the phoenix city is rising from the ashes.

Imagine the whitest sandy beaches, the bluest African waters.

Families after a hard day's work coming together at Lido beach.

Elders basking in the sun, and munching on juicy water-melons.

Children splashing in the water, and licking jalaato.

Dare-devils on motorbikes racing eachother across the open beach.

.

Imagine medieval & modern architecture sprawling in aesthestical harmony.

An old Somalesque mosque surrounded by lush green parks and public gardens.

An elaborate Moorish hotel embracing an art-deco cafe.

The wide boulevards down town, the narrow streets in the old quarters.

Imagine cinematic joy indoors, cinematic joy outdoors.

Film festivals drawing in visitors and talent from around the world.

Honey-brown beauties gracing the catwalks of Mogadishu's fashion-shows.

Plays and concerts galore at the Yellow theatre.

The largest museums displaying the rich heritage of the country.

Imagine the Jewelry shops at the Tamarind Market.

Young Somali couples picking out necklaces & rings to symbolize their union.

Cosmopolitanism on a grander scale than ever.

A taste of Asian cuisine at the Thai restaurant down-town.

Mandarin lessons at the Beijing University of Mogadishu.

Imagine oil flowing, crops growing, ships docking, Vimto bottles popping.

Yeah, new Somali money baby, the birth of a middle-class.

A Somali Stock Exchange uniting the entrepreneurs of the Somali World.

The Somali Brand visible from Tokyo to Tehran and from Timbuktu to Kathmandu.

It's time we became winners, insha'allah!

Refereshing indeed.

All that is uncontroversial brother Chimera save arts and fashion as described may seem too liberal to traditional Somalis.
