I think we have seen this Question before posted by CARTAN under poetry section, in somali though . It is isn't that hard to figure out, the addition is done wrongly.

add 25 + 2(the bellboy)= 27 + 3(change to men)

= 30

Hibo

Abdunuur

I liked the question, so i had to register as a member to respond to your thread. Hope I am wellcomed here.

To answer your question you will have to first calculate the cost of the room whether directly or indirectly paid.

Room cost---$25

Tips paid---- 2 (Bellboy scam)whatever u call it.

Total cost--$27(money dispensed)

Cash paid---$30 therefore

Difference----3 which is the monies received.

Hope that answered your question

Cheers to you all.

Very tricky, aint it...well...a lot of you were

close...gotta give you that...however, you are being mislead by the last statement that says

"add the two dollars that the bellboy kept".

You don't add the two dollars, you subtract it,

which takes you to $25 which is the real cost of the room.

Yes the men paid $27 altogether; but the room was $25 and the bellboy kept the other $2.
