Lesbians sentenced to death in

MOGADISHU Two lesbians who passed themselves off as husband and wife

have been sentenced to death by a court in Somalia's northeast port city of

Bossasso, the Qaran daily newspaper reported yesterday.

 

The two, whose names have been withheld by the court, were convicted of

"exercising unnatural behaviour", the paper said.

 

The pair were tried under Somali criminal punishment law, which is loosely based

on Islamic Sharia law. Bossasso is located in Puntland, a region that declared

itself autonomous from Somalia in August 1998 and has since set up its own

administrative infrastructure. Capital sentences have rarely been carried out in

My point is that was a fabrication and this one
