Grand Conference for reer Awdal in Ottawa

Awdal politicians are running away or abducting the agenda of AUN Ali Khaliif Galeydhs to open up the Somaliland constitution to reflect political agreement with Khaatuma/SSC and shared ownership.

Awdal was part and parcel of SL establishment and what purpose would it have now when SSC is gone and Muuse regime intending to further wage war.

This is again putting the horse before the cart, you first have a dialogue and agreement on the social contract and then you embed whatever is agreed in any base document (constitution). Opening up the constitution now would be schizophrenics and defeat the purpose of why it was raised in the first time at all.

You think u can negotiated and make a deal with secessionist leaders, like Biihi, Kaahin?

These leaders thought SSC were defeated and does not warrant talking to them, or give them any more powers, they believe the same about Awdal

All leaders make mistakes for they are human, and some make more mistakes then others, however what distinguishes good leaders is that they recognise their mistakes and don’t persist in their original decisions if they turned out to be poor one. And I think the SL leaders still have a chance to correct things and change course, if they start thinking as political leaders and put their ‘militarised ego’ aside.

Galbeedi,

Has the Awdal Movement gone rogue? Responding to Abiy's delusions this way will undermine the cause.

Maybe this is not them?

What is going on

It’s from the Awdal Movement. You guys still don’t understand it and Galbeedi isn’t telling the full story and intentions behind it. 😂

Tell us then.

The only thing I could think is that the movement needs arms. And this is the only exchange they can offer.

Far from that, main issue and drivers are more economic hence why the press statement emphasized economic development of the Zeila Port and linkages with Ethiopia.

While Abiy’s speech is very much political and concerning as he isn’t talking about investment and access to a Port but rather to reorganize the regional order for Ethiopia to ‘annex’ coastal areas.

Secondly, think it would also make sense to concretise the agenda and long wishes aims of the Awdal community to take forward the economic development through developing a roadmap, Regional Development Board and Taskforce of Technical Experts to develop the Zeila-Borama-Ethiopia Corridor Business Case and Investment strategy for the Port, Road and Infrastructure development. And furthermore develop a wider Regional Economic strategy by proposing comprehensive action plans to develop a number of key sectors for the region (mining&natural resources, cross border trade with Yemen/Djibouti/Ethiopia, Agriculture and Tourism).

Just some intuitive thoughts on the upcoming Awdal Conference.

It’s better for the community to take the initiative for developing and promoting the investment case, rather then awaiting initiative from external actors, who would always priorities own agenda and wouldn’t necessary take local interest in to account.

It is definitely us. The wording wasn't perfect, but we need foreign investment and Abiy's Ethiopia could be a good partner  to link our future ports with millions of Somalis and the 20 million Oromo's in  Hararghe region of Ethiopia.. It is better than Dubai taking over Boosaaso and running it  to the ground; the empty vessel of Berbera run by the delusional clan or even Kismaayo owned by the Kenyans.

The Habro had 32 years but they decided to eat their cake and hell with the rest. Furthermore, their is deep down believe that we could be probably Switzerland if Awdalites run our place without the hungry and delusional clan infested Shankaroon. Don't be surprised some Habro will be acting as the guardians of Somalia in the next coming weeks.

I conclude by saying that 2024 will be the year of Awdal.

Will give them to lease the port and will in exchange get cheap electricity, shares in Ethiopian airline and other perks. In the meantime, I expect Hassan Culusow to try and help Biixi just like last spring. Furthermore, we might help Somalis get rid of  Geelle and Biixi and give break other Somalis. Yesterday in one of our meeting our Ugaas said he want to reclaim his 420 years old thrown Ifat soon.

Carafaat ,

Saaxiib Habraha aanu isku ducayno, deris wanaag iyo gancsi.

We had enough of hearing the history of our Habro friends who say, " Taariikhdayadu waxay ka bulaabantaa markaanu baxnay 1981 iyo markaanu soo oqonay 1991"

Galbeedi,

The wording could have been much better!

Abiy is talking about annexation, not leasing ports. Reer Awdal need change and economic development. I think something like Garacad initiative might be a better option. It gives the community ownership and they don't have to worry about foreign intervention.

It is also worth noting Abiy might run Ethiopia into the ground considering his endless wars.

Illyria

This is gloomy, if troubling potentially fraught with long-term complications. Nations and companies do, and can invest in infrastructure projects in other nations, a good example being Istanbul Airport, but there is the contemporary history of Ethiopia-Somalia to consider.

Let us not chop off the nose to despise the face.

Why not try the Garacad business model instead?

I was not in favour of Berbera or Bosaso being leased to DP World, mind you a world-class port authority managing over 60 in 40 countries incl. some of the busiest in the US. Ethiopia has neither the capital, nor resources nor the proficiency to develop or manage ports.
