Deeq A. Posted March 15, 2021 The Health Ministry will distribute Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines to Somali health authorities. Mogadishu (PP News Desk) — A plane carrying the first batch COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Mogadishu earlier today. “At last our effort to secure vaccines have borne fruit. We expect more batches of the vaccine to arrive. The vaccination will begin tomorrow 16 May. Frontline health workers will be vaccinated first. We must observe preventive measures such as social distancing and washing hands regularly” said Fowsiya Abikar, the Somali Minister for Health who, with UNSOM Chief, James Swan, was at Mogadishu International Airport to witness the delivery of vaccines.
