President Deni Opens Forum for Ideas Confrence in Garowe

Garowe (PP News Desk) — Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni today officially opened the Forum for Ideas Confrence organised by Heritage Institute for Policy Studies.

Delegates from the Somali Federal Government, Presidential Candidates, civil society members and other invited dignitaries are attending the conference.

“I am pleased to welcome you to Garowe , where this event is taking place for the first in Somalia. I thank Heritage Institute for organising the conference and choosing Garowe as the venue” said President Deni.

President Deni said the confrence will provide an opportunity to thrash out political issues and come up with ideas to end the transitional period.

Heritage Institute believes that Somalia is in a transitional period despite the end of former Transitional Federal Government of Somalia in 2012 following Garowe I and II Summits.

Former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said at the opening session of the confrontation that the transitional period had ended.

The conference takes place against a backdrop of political deadlock over the Somali elections.
