Some slang words aan aqaano: Nalkaa iga dansan = being broke Waa iga taalaa = [read nalkaa iga dansan] Qaaf ha igu qufin = don't lie to me Ma igu cabee = trying lying to me [?] Iga qaleey/iga wareegso/ii gooy/ga iga sii = leave me alone Bajaq = no need to define for this Kaasmaayo = at one time more popular than bajaq, back in the days; it means chick Shitaawe/qulumbe/qalowle/ateere = id!ot Ilfuur = eavesdrop Iga baandheey = not buying the story Jihaad baan ku jiraa = struggling with life Shiid = broke [literally it means dhagax] Wiido = almost stalking a girl Wey kala xirantahay = quruxleey Faras waaye qoftaan = [read wey kala xirantahay] Bantaraa ku jiraa/bantaraa jiifaa/faleebaa ii suran/waa igu jirtaa = chillin' and living at large with some $$ Axsaanta = no, thank you Waa kaa haayaa = not interested Lamagoodle = a typical ignorant Soomaali, especially a faarax Maryooleey = [read lamagoodle] Faradheer = [read lamagoodle again] Marax = lame Buufis ku dhacay = psychotic Atoore baadiye = ignorant Macalinka/duqa/xaajiga = a common man Beesaani = reer magaal Waji macbuus = angry person Eeyaa cunay = don't have news for you Ma igu soo kala fireysay = even trying to lie to me[?] [shakespeare's et tu, brute camal] ------------- To be continued.
