“Hell No We Ain’t Alrightâ€

New Orleans in the morning, afternoon, and night

Hell No We Ain’t Alright

Now all these press conferences breaking news alerts

This just in while your government looks for a war to win

Flames from the blame game, names? Where do I begin?

Walls closing in get some help to my kin

Who cares? While the rest of the Bushnation stares

As the drama unfolds as we the people under the stairs

50% of this Son of a Bush nation

Is like hatin’ on Haiti

And setting up assassinations

Ask Pat Robertson- quiz him.... smells like terrorism.

Racism in the news/ still one-sided news

Saying whites find food/

prey for the national guard ready to shoot

‘Cause them blacks loot

New Orleans in the morning, afternoon, and night

Hell No We Ain’t Alright

Fires, earthquakes, tsunamis

I don’t mean to scare/ Wasn’t this written somewhere?

Disgraces all I see is black faces moved out to all these places

Emergency state, corpses, alligators and snakes

Big difference between this haze and them diamonds on the VMA’s

We better look/ what’s really important

Under this sun especially if you over 21

This ain’t no TV show/ this ain’t no video

This is really real/ beyond them same ole “keep it realâ€

Quotes from them TV stars drivin’ big rim cars

'Streets be floodin,’ B/ no matter where you at, no gas

Driving is a luxury

Urgency

State of emergency

Shows somebody’s government

Is far from reality....

New Orleans in the morning, afternoon, and night

Hell No We Ain’t Alright

I see here we be the new faces of refugees

Who ain’t even overseas but here on our knees

Forget the plasma TV-ain’t no electricity

New worlds upside down-and out of order

Shelter? Food? Wasssup, wheres the water?

No answers from disaster/ them masses hurtin’

So who the f**k we call?--Halliburton?

Son of a Bush, how you gonna trust that cat?

To fix s**t when help is stuck in Iraq?

Making war plans takin’ more stands

In Afghanistan 2000 soldiers dyin’ in the sand

But that’s over there, right?

Now what's over here is a noise so loud

That some can’t hear but on TV I can see

Bunches of people lookin’ just like me…

Lyrics by the mighty Chuck D. of Public Enemy

If you still think the response to the disaster in NO was not racist, compare it to the response to hurricanes of category 2 or 3 strength hitting Palm Beach Florida. Last year, the national guard was dispatched before the storm even hits.

What's the difference you ask? Palm Beach, FL, is predominantely white and affluent. Heck, even if they weren't affluent, as the midwest is with tornadoes, the response was far superior to much lesser disasters.

Race, I am sure, is one of many factors leading to the shambolic response we have seen in the last two weeks. It could, however, become the main issue to come out of this disaster.

I await the Government Inquiry Report. Would luv to see who gets blamed. :D

Baashi, I see your compassionate conservatism is forcing you to avoid the use of the word "race" but instead opt for class and poverty. I've known you to call a spade what it is. Why must you beat around the bush (nasty pun not intended) on this issue?

Amigo, race is def a factor but not the only one as many seem to be asserting.

I'm too old and too smart to take offence from the cyber skirmishes. No, none is taken especially from amigo Castro.

As to conservatism you referred to, If I were you I wouldn't be so judgemental. Now, I'm a Muslim and I embrace Muslim values wholeheartedly. Sometimes my tastes get better of me but generally I like to stay within Islamic norms. Because of that I agree with the conservatives in certain issues.

I'm delighted to hear that for I meant none.

Last year, the national guard was dispatched before the storm even hits.

Fidel;Lest you forgot, the National Guard comes directly under the Gov . of a particular state. In the case of Fla, Gov. JB(Jeb Bush), called on his troops who were ready and prepared. The federal Gov.came in later, also the national guard facility was not submerged in water[as was the case in La.].

Yesterdays Oprah was the sadest show ever.

I cryed all through yesterdays programing of Oprah. The news really hides the truth well when it comes to natural disaster. For those of you who didn't see it, hopefully you will.

These poor people were sleeping in a dome that was filled with feces, urine, and dead bodies. Children were being raped, and guns were firing. Children were being raped in the bathrooms, and had to walk over dead bodies just to use the bathrooms. People who were dying were put in the morgue to die in there. This was the closest place they could put them to give them peace. It was so sad.

Sucks to be black and poor in America.

Sucks to be black and poor in America , Bishaaro it sucks to be black and poor in Somalia, atleast The Blacks here had the superdome in Somalia they will be all dead in the jungle.tell me where will blacks have better life than here.

Race !!!! mmmm!!!! Why are we not mentioning the white victim? Are we blaming God why most of the victims were black?if not then race shouldn't be the issue. What do you expect when someone who is not a lawyer is elected for the CJ. in this case Bush elect Head of FEMA for someone who has no experience in that field and that is why the help to longer than it suppose to be.Even though i am not putting all the blame on the federal level. I don't think race has anything to do with this.

I till believe race is a lazy man tool.

You're not gonna believe who developed a spine at such a late stage in life.

He can say all he wants to seem black-friendly but this rat is dead, as far as I'm concerned.

Not in this case. Condoleeza Rice is still singing the administration's tune. Are you gonna say the same thing about her when she's out of office and tries to correct her ways? Hell no. There's no refund or exchange on the souls they sold to the devil.

Powell criticises storm response

Temporary coffins are prepared outside a building in New Orleans

Katrina's dead are now coming to light across New Orleans

Former US Secretary of State Colin Powell has said he fails to understand why better preparations were not made before Hurricane Katrina struck.

Two-thirds of Americans think President George W Bush could have done more to tackle the floods and damage in the south, one opinion poll suggests.

One member of Mr Bush's staff said such allegations "broke his heart".

This guy actually has a heart?
