Miriam1 Posted January 19, 2003 Salam Being unable to hear the Aadan, i swear i cried when i heard the aadan on the road this last summer in dubai. The sad fact that there is no major celebration for eid that i sometimes even forget that tommowor is Eid al Adha no anticipation of anysort ..no decorated streets,no sweets,no one coming knocking on your door just to say Eid mubarak. Its hard to find that the majority of the people around u think differntly.. its hard to find ppl who u are truly on the same level of though as u.I have friends who i can talk to about unimportant tings like clothes,other ppl,movies etc but few of whom i can go to rallies with, share new islamic websites or books i discovered with, discuss politics in detail and agrue with, without one party being offended...Man ... its just a different planet here and there. Hate being assumed that i must be illitrate just cuz am black and wearing hijab. 4. Hate to see how we are soo easily influenced by the society we live in....while other foreigners come here and still stick to there culture and religion 5. hate to see young kids disrespecting their mom.by calling her names..knowing full well that if that was me...i would get my arse whipped till there is no tomorrow...just thinking of disrespecting my mom like that could get me in deep shit.. 6. hate no being living miles apart from our loves ones...and buying a shitty $10..card for only 15minutes....what the hell can u say in 15minutes...
