Imagine if he is trying to persuade all the local youngsters and girls to believe this as something "OK". Sxb, you will be accauntable that sxb so you better warn the people around this man so at least they know the situation. As muslim, I am stunned by the attitude of some "presumably" muslim people here their stance and support and understanding towards this deseas. Wallee qaxii la soo qaxay dad badan waa badalmeen. nooc kastaba ha la arko. God has made him gay. He didn't choose to be gay. I accept him totally. I think what he is doing is living his life. He is not hurting anyone. He is entitaled to his privacy. Please respect it. You wouldn't like it if people talked about you to other people. So why do it to him. Save your venom for the ethiopians.
  2. Allah yarxamha, I'm very sorry to hear that your grandmother has died. May she be in peace.
  3. The resistance is now in control of Kismayo. http://www.shabelle.net/news/ne2777.htm

Asian people are obsessed with Wahabbism, sometimes i think they make it a bigger issue than it is! To be fair, I think you are meaning Pakistanis. These people are the No.1 arab colonised people. Somalis are a close 2nd. They are obssessed with it, because their local culture has been destroyed by the Arab one. The writer V.S Naipaul, wrote about this. Especially interesting to me, is the concept of shame, within these societies and how it translates to a modern society.
  5. This is exactly, what I have been saying for 10 years. To whoever will listen. Who would have though, it would be printed in the Sunday Times, now millions of people will see it. More and more people are beginning to realise, the rabid danger of the Arabs and their filth culture. They have infected the Somali phsyche, so much so, that today, we are more concerned with them, then our own people, being killed in Somalia. We have to eradicate arab culture, from our mind. Everything that they are is nothing.
  6. Don't they look so handsome?! Congratulations to them all. They have done a great job, the future of the new Somalia.

  8. Northerner, having 'progressive' views does not make one, any less Somali, than they are. All that Somali gay's want is acceptance. I accept them. It is clear to me though, that we have imported so much Arab thinking, of stoning and punishment, that we really have lost our moral compass. Which is why I advocate, totally cleaninsng of Arabic culture and beliefs from the Somali mind. The concept of shame is an example of this. At that it means, in the end, is that society is stagnant and therefore weak. The rule of the law should govern our behavious. Let it be and move on, Somalia is facing a collasal disaster. Let's debate.
  9. The resistance is underpinned by a clear moral arguement. Which is what, I tried to reason with you. You have to apply these principles, all the time, because if you don't you will clearly have compromised yourself, if you don't. ''This is not really the time to be "politically correct" as they say here in the west'' speaks for itself. I know it is something you will have to come to terms with at some stage. Of course, it is not your family that has been slaughtered. On the flip, I have never seen more Somalis, united than I have so, in the last 2 months.
  10. Northerner, If I have succumbed to 'western views' I would have given up on Somalia, long time ago. And prompty headed off to the ethiopian embassy and applied for citizenship there. No brainer.
  11. TheSomaliEconomist, you have not really answered my question. Do you think justice should be applied? If so, should it be selective or should it be applied totally? The reason is, im trying to understand the rational process that got you to think of these poor lives as being 'marginal'. Now say the dignity of the country has been restored, by what, having the Ethios leave, security to grow and national healing process to start. Where you then to apply rule of law democractic principles, are you then selective in how it is then enforced?
  12. Agreed, they are here and should be accepted. There are bigger and more important issues, that the community has to deal with right now.
  13. Originally posted by TheSomaliEconomist: This is a war and at the end of the day it's all about who's winning what and where. The history of Somalia for the last decades has always been survival of the fittest and the civilian death toll has always been high so in this context, the actual value of civilian deaths is really just marginal. It's certainly sad to hear this but 16 years of carnage has depreciated the value Somalia and the somali man to rock-bottom levels. This is the only chance to raise it again and reconstruct Somalia to it's past glory. Extreme problems ask for extreme solutions Now you might see me as a wretched, inhuman and straight forward dumb TFG supporter, but all I can tell you is that we can Agree to disagree. You have to be really careful on these statements. Because clear as it is. People have died and been killed. The country is under occupation and the killers are not Somali. Now, I have tried to be rational with you, but statements like that have no place in a just democractic state, which is what, I think you are trying to see emerge. You cannot pick and choose, where justice applies, it either applies totally, but certainly not selectiviely. If you choose to disregard it in the shelling of Xamar, then you will have to apply that view, when it is your own family who being killed.
  14. Ms Dhucdhuc & Dheylo, my thoughts on religion are very clear. You can find my posts in the Islam section. This discussion is about Somali gays, let's be on track.
  15. The laws are universal. It is human rights. God has made people gay. I truly believe, it is the diversity that is in everyday life. A person should be free to set their course. In a few years time, the majority of countries will have gay protection rights in their laws. Even the Africans are debating it. Sadly, Somalis, are yet again in the vanguard of upholding degraded arab thought process, that is holding them back In Somali culture, being gay is the unspoken taboo. When I lived in London, I met so many Somali gays. I tought it was wonderful. They were more patriotic than the average Somali, more creative, more forward thinking. Face it, it could even be your brother, your son, or even your father. They are not going to go away, what are you going to do? At least those Arabs, somewhat accept it. When I lived in Bahrain, it was so much in your face, I just accepted it. One time, I was riding a taxi and this 60 year old Bahraini driver, yes 60! was that way inclined. I'm not gay, but these countries are not the places where you can kick up a fuss, you just have to accept, it will happen to you. They even see it, as something you gotta do, to make yourself 'whole' They expect though, that 'one will eventually, grow out from it'. Again, we are in a point, where the shameful Arabs, have exported their hate culture to Somalia.
  16. There are lots and lots and lots of gay Somalis. Most of them, are no way open about it. Most could pass for straight, you would never know. I repeat again, there is nothing wrong with being gay. We should not import Arab culture, where people are denied human rights.
  17. Interesting. The Fillipinos main export is their people. From what I understand, their country is corrupt. Even here where I live in Milan, Italy. You will see one everywhere. Working as maids or cleaners. I think the reason why they are so popular to hire. Is because they are utterly submissive people. Even more than the Indians. They really have of qualms, of taking orders. They never cause trouble too.
  18. We should be more accepting, there is nothing wrong with it at all. It is a person's choice, how he lives his life. I would love to see a gay rights law that protects people like this, in a new Somalia. Don't spread gossip about him, or like that, you wouldn't like someone to do that to you.
  19. Halgan, the vast, vast majority of Somalis have the same viewpoints as you. In a nation of what, 15 million+ you can't expect everyone to share your view. There will always be dissenters. It is interesting because with him, I could at least try to understand the though process that leads him to make his gross statement, because, from his previous posts, he seems rational in his thinking. The others are supporters, because they are....well let's just say still pastorally afflicted. A/y is their anointed uncle. Strangely enough they are nowhere to be seen right now. The Economist, is a great read. I agree. On Somalia, they hardly ever cover Somalia. They don't really understand the country. Their bureau is in Nairobi, you'd think that would help. It's one of these papers that due to lazy thinking, brands the problem in Somalia 'complex'. Of course it is anything but. That we know too well.
  20. Halgan..give the poor guy a break..he only believes it if The Economist tell him to.
  21. We are watching and we are knowing. Where are the TFG supporters, now.
  22. We are here, watching and knowing. Where are the TFG supporters, now. Where are they?
  23. Lois Lane, good post. All of you guys are talking about the town. The town can be developed. What I zoomed in on in the picture was the sheer green land that surrounds it.
