  1. Salaamu alaikum wr wb, I'm just preparing to take my GRE's I was wondering if there are any psych majors out there who have taken it or are working towards it, if so care to let me know?
  2. salaam alaikum ya'll thnks for all that great lessons on the history of ogadeyn...however I hardly doubt any of you were able to answer my question, so 'mma patiently wait and insha'Allah hope one of you will Mullah huuno how do you plan on uniting somalia when you are a supporter of qabilism? a mere curiousity,
  3. I have a question for the ogadeyn nomads in here, I was wondering if any of you know about the history of ogadeyn, if so any assistance to the following question would be greatly appreciated... How come we have been enslaved n could never get Ethiopians out of the country? I don't know anyone else to ask this question, hence the reason why I decided to post it here...
  4. Qaac: huuno put a lid this "‘m the victim feel sorry for me crap!" No one would have even addressed you if it wasn't uncalled for... You have placed a magnifying glass over us, and when we try to merely point out the flaws in ur views, we are accused of personally attacking you? Hmm interesting huh? Walalo do me a favour n stop constantly contradicting urself! and another thing another care to elaborate on this point "i want women to be educated in their religion, just because u know how to speak english is not enough education" "in conclusion i don't have time, for a new girl to attack me all the time" If you want others to stop disagreeing with you, than do us all a favor and stop posting none sense... "and i'll say it again, if i want to marry a cadaan woman i would marry her long time ago, but guess i don't want to marry her coz she has a different calture from me, that is why i want a somali woman, now what i see is the somali girls are thinking like them, and telling me because they are educated, and trying to prove this from islam, which teaches you women should obay their man, as long as he is fellowing the orders of allah, samiyah how come u don't tell me that hadith hon." Huuno, what I love most about our deen is that it is fair! It doesn't hinder us from doing anything productive in our lives, so don't sit there and state that we are to be slaves for our hobbies! Islam gave us the right to chose a husband for ourselves, so alhamdulillah without this right a sister might end up having to marry a chauvinist! To be obedient doesn’t mean we are suppose to be cupped up in a four-wall sphere! don't get me wrong, I'm not downplaying nor 'm I undervaluing the role of sisters being "home boddies" For the life of me I can't figure out why u keep insisting on labeling the educated women as western females? For some odd reason, I get the feeling that you see them as the only female species who exercise their rights! Ur leaning on the judgmental side! Its not a good habit to develop u know
  5. oi oi! iman aan qabdaradeeda layabana! tukadaran bey noso sartay!
  6. salaamu alaikum wr wb, You are comparing her to a cadaan cause she says she rather get educated n help out her community? Allah(swa)said both the men n women r khalifah's of this earth (Quran 33:72-73). I know ur not trying to belittle her statuesque just because these sisters know their rights... for the ones suggesting they should bring along their notepads, I hope your already doting down some notes urself, for it seems to me you are in desperate need of enlightment...What puzzled me the most is how these men sit there and analyze the sisters for stating they want to pursue with their education, and insha'Allah get prestigious jobs...instead of promoting her for all her efforts, you attack her, and question her character by stigmatizing her as a "cadan woman" (shakes her head disapprovingly).....In Islam we are permitted to obtain a job, so who are you to say otherwise? What you are suggesting is after marriage she should seize her passions n she should discard everything she has worked for, since you married her she should become your property right? She is to be your partner in life, not a damir aad soo ijaratay! Qaac I don’t think Athena claimed she was more educated than sisters in Somalia: however she knows her rights. The prophet(scw) said "to seek knowledgeis obligatory on every muslim"(Al-bani) what is the point of getting knowledge if u can't taste the labour of ur fruits? Qaac: I know this might be hard for you to grasp, but could the reason why the divorce rate is so high possibly have to do with the fact that the certain mali men still suffer from the syndrome of the stone-age mentality?
  7. jawihir, I would definitly say salam when no one else is looking! hehe on the serious note tho' we should insha'Allah maybe go for a coffee afterwards, for where 'm from there aren't that many somali sisters
  8. Originally posted by miz-unique: ^^ just wondering ....so there are somali fan that jump over singers .  looool I was wondering the same thing! its hilarious eh?
  9. salaamu alaikum wr wb, You don't need him, if he is with you and flirting away with others...regardless what his excuse might be, if he is giving his cell to females who are obviously interested in him, than that should give you a hint... Do not attempt to justify his wrongs, drop this doofus, don't work out ur problems with tears...write your own script, aside from Allah u hold your pen, so sketch yourself a character that would treat your heart like an open wound that needs some tender healing! FYI Carmel Kisses, Macaanti, I thought that you were part of my starters, # 3 to be exact. Never be a second hand! he didn't find you at a drift store! be a rear diamond! cause there is a somali saying... ri kasta meshey is dhigto yaa lagu goraca (hope I didn't mess it up ) Darling you are a Somalian queen, don't forget there, a seasoned creature! why settle for someone that'll burn you? You said he is a famous singer... here is my answer to u, are u with him for his fame or b/c you love him? if u luv him why r u trying to rationalize his pathetic excuses? war ilahow muu noqda boqorka adunka! he has no right! period end of the story, so if he is worthy of ur luv tell him how ur uneased about the whole situation! or close the book, n move on! another sisterly advice, kheyr would not be it! he already has 2 wives, so I think his hand is full as it is  however I need to have a talk with his wives!
  10. salaamu alaikum wr wb, Originally posted by Jawahiir: lol ^ thought about that, wear a name badge maybe saying "SOL MEMBER" its a good idea. lol, I could just imagine how others would be looking at us! none the less it is a briliant idea!
  11. Wa'alaikum salaam wr wb, It is a must, sister Amena silmi is a confirmed speaker, Dr Jamal Badawi (who could crack any body) would also attend.... My favourite will ofcourse be there *******HAMZA YUSUF******** so no one in there right mind would miss it... tamina jazaka'Allah khair for the reminder sis
  12. salaamu alaikum wr wb, there is nothing wrong with getting married at teh age of 30, if 'm not mistaking the prophet(Pbuh) married Khadija(ra)at the age of 40...anyways, thats my two cents
  13. salaamu alaikum wr wb, wow jaz I thought I was the only mali who used that product...but it does tend to get costy... Insha'Allah I'll write more about acne products when I have more time... Black seeds(xabasod) which is so inexpensive actually works way better than most of the counter products...Get yourself some Xabasoda facial soap, which you could find basically at any halal market... use it twice dialy... use the oil once (better if you leave it on overnight)
  14. salaamu alaikum wr wb, A couple of students entering Al-Azhar University met up with a professor. He asked the first student, "What is your name?". The student replied, "My name is Mohamed." The professor said, "Very well. Please recite Surah Muhammad". And the student did. The next student said, "My name is Tariq." The professor said, "Ok, please recite Surah Al-Tariq. And the student did. This went on with other students saying their names and reciting their namesake surahs --Ibrahim,Yusef, etc. Finally, the professor noticed this one student looking down at his shoes and mumbling something. The professor asked "What's wrong and what is your name?" The student looked at the professor and said, "I cannot lie. My name is Taha, but everyone calls me Kauthar!" (For all of those who don't get the joke Surah Ta-Ha is a long surah with 135 ayats Whereas, Surah Al-Kauthar has only 3 ayats!)
