  1. Pires was at least clever about it, he would make it look like a decent foul for the referee. Ljungberg does not dive, well i haven't seen him dive. Liverpool have Luis Garcia.
  2. Inkaar Alla baa ku dacay. I went there xmas 2005, and they're all looking at you like what the f*** you doin here, blackie!
  3. Isn't that what America is all about? Different people from different parts of the world in Plymouth rock? is that good or bad? I'm not quite catching your drift. Somali Americans? Thats definitly a first. Seems like us somalis are slowly losing our culture. Somali Americans?
  4. This from someone supporting a team that has Drogba and Robben! lol.....good one! Andy Johnson is misunderstood, he's a little guy and can be knocked off the ball quite easy, but most of the time he always tries to get up straight away. The media and some managers labelled him unfairly and ppl just jump on the bandwagon. I remember when he was playing for Crystal Palace in the prem, he was pushed and he landed on his neck, you could actually see his neck twist 180 degrees, the guy got up like he was just scratched but ofcourse he was awarded a panelty.
  5. You know America produces the best athletes in the world. You can't say they can't run...just watch field track in the Olympics. Have you ever seen Michael Jordan play? Yeh, only because they've been to every continent and beslaved the people in those continents so that they could work in america....... for nothing. I actually like the nfl and I watched the beginning of Superbowl XLI, I was amazed that the Bears scored a touchdown in the literally the first play of the game.
  6. The best young keeper is Scott Carson (Liverpool). I'm sure he is, seen as he's a liverpool player and all, liverpool pick great goalies.
  7. ^^^calm your nerve northerner, i simply meant when he retires, i mean come on the man is 36 years old and I dnt want the same thing to happen to him as Seaman. Why is it that every1 likes berbatov, I'd prefer mido over him.
  8. Soma, what would you do if John Terry went and secretly met with man u over a possible transfer, knowing John Terry he probably wouldn't, but even if he did and got caught at it, he would immediately apologise and I'm sure the chelsea faithful would forgive him. Ashley Cole betrayed us and then came out launching an attack on everything to do with arsenal. You don't understand, most Arsenal fans were rooting for ashley cole for a possible captaincy, and a player we thought so highly of did what he did and now all I'm sharing with you is what probably every gunner is thinking, but since we are a club of class and prestige, Wenger did the diplomatic thing and thanked him for his services. My team, yes has a lot of Arsenal players, but come on, Anelka has changed bolton from a long ball team to half-passing team and a gunner wouldn't put him in because he did score 2 goals against us at the reebok. Kanu was top scorer for a while and he's having a cracking season. Campbell, is the reason pompey are where they are, and for me, sol should never have left. I forgot completely about Jasskelainen, and he would my number 1 ahead given, since given spends most if his time on the treatment table these days, Jaaskelainen has taken over from him as the top goalie outside the big four and I'd jump at the chance for him to replace Lehmann next season.
  9. I have little bit of a challenge for you guys, since everyone in here supports one of the big four, who can name their eleven outside the top 4. -------------------Given--------------------- Neill-------Campbell------King--------Gardner Lennon-----Malbranque--Barton-------Pedersen -----------Anelka-------Kanu-----------------
  10. Chelsea's Ashley Cole has suffered knee ligament damage - but skipper John Terry is expected to return from injury on Saturday. Cole damaged his posterior cruciate ligament when landing awkwardly during the win over Blackburn on Wednesday. But the club say he does not need surgery and the 26-year-old is expected to play again this season. Terry, since 13 December, had surgery on a back injury and his rehabilitation was complicated by a calf injury. Interview: Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho But he is expected to play against Charlton, with manager Jose Mourinho saying: "Terry is an important player for us. We've missed him and it's important he's back, especially in a period when we keep losing players." Cole had a scan on his injury on Thursday and it had been feared that he would be out for the rest of the campaign. It is the latest in a line of injuries to key defenders at Chelsea, with Terry only just set to return after more than a month out and fellow centre-back Khalid Boulahrouz also injured. Mourinho said: "We are doing so many things to have a team to compete in all competitions and we must compete without Ashley. "Khalid Boulahrouz will train with the group for the first time on Thursday and maybe in one more week he can play." I never wish bad luck on a player but I have been praying for this since he moved. Payback is a b!itch.
  11. Trish Johnson Lady Pro Golfer. Has a habit of getting in trouble with the LPGA for wearing Arsenal leisure-wear ("inappropriate clothing") while playing! ^^tru gooner. Fidel Castro We've had Castro on the list since it started, but how he came to be on the list had got lost and I was starting to wonder if I'd made it up all those years ago. Then Ed Hall emailed to say that Castro's Goonerdon was revealed during the 94/95 Cup-winners Cup campaign: "At the time of the away leg against Auxerre, Fidel was touring that part of France, and declared that if it wasn't for the inherent security risks involved, he would have given anything to watch in the flesh the team that he had followed passionately since the double season of 1970/1!! " is this tru?
  12. ^^^I didnt know we had so many loyal followers here in SOL, because we always seem to be the minority in all the discussions here, its refreshing to see this. My favourite player has to be Dennis, he is the reason why I even began following Arsenal. In Holland as a kid I was Dennis mad, when I heard he moved to Arsenal it seemed strange to me, but after solely following Arsenal because of him I began to love the way football is played at Arsenal and became a gooner 4 life. My current fav player's are Kolo and RVP, whilst our captain was here he was definitly my favourite, I even have a the 2005 blue shirt with his number at the back but without the name, I prefer to put my own name on shirts. I have the current shirt and soon the number 5 and my name will be printed on it. As for people around me, I made my whole family, from my mother to my youngest brother, all loyal arsenal fans, and all my friends who follow football like I do are Arsenal players, but I do know some liverpool fans and utd fans but I have yet to meet a loyal chelsea follower who followed chelsea b4 the takeover.
  13. ^^^ Soma, ur a funny guy, I'm sure ur just sayin to back up ur words, but I agree the one-two and the cross made the goal. SB, if ur being real, welcome to the right side of football. BOB, our team is loved by all now, mission accomplished.
  14. Well done to Arsenal. Yesterday's disappointment is history now, Arsenal did play very well. Fabrigas is proving me wrong, the guy is talented. I hate to say I told you so but I told you so. It's good your finally seeing what a talented player he is at 19. The little dude didnt have gilberto behind but still managed to overpower the leaders' five-man midfield, personally, I think he should have got man of the match
  15. The game really depends on how Man U approach the game. Everybody knows how arsenal will appraoch the game, they'll go for it because their at home and want to reduce the gap. Man U have a healthy lead a point would do them well seen as chelsea lost, if chelsea had won yesterday this game would have been one of the most highly anticipated games of the season. I predict a draw with not too many goals. The trend in these games is that the result will not be what people expect it to be. At Old Trafford people were saying that Arsenal would lose because Utd were taking the league by storm and The Gunners were lacking behind, it ended in a win for Arsenal.
  16. Man Utd should be scared, because we can now safely say Henry is back, and we did beat them at OT without our captain, so everyone, expect a @ss-woopin' to be given to Utd.
  17. ^^^ Norf, I'd like to apologise for the embarrasment of losing in the great Anfield stadium and letting in 9 goals in 3 days, what's happening? Isn't Rafa supposed to be notorious for having good defences?
  18. That goal was worthy of drawing any match, I suppose your players can do that when the're worth 25 mill each, props to Chelsea, any other team would'ave lost morale and hope. Soma, good to see you being positive, gilberto was great. Looks like your wishes and mine have come true, Dancing Pardew is sacked, not doing hios chicken dance now is he? Curbishley will probably get the job.
  19. Great game, Norf, seems like ur as bad in your predictions as ur manager is in buying strikers. I think if this doesn't prove that the Premiership is the best league in the world nothing else will. All the so-called big games have lived up to their hype, as Andy Gray would say, its agreat advert for english football. Those of you who were watching it on sky, was I the only one who wanted to knock the remaining teeth out of drunk Paul Merson's mouth, he's just bitter because he was the first to go as soon as Wenger came. Even last year's CL final, he was exactly the same pessimistic self. He's probably used to not thinking much of himself and drinking his sorrows away and tries to apply that to The Arsenal. I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that, as all commentators did. If he does supposedly 'represent' Arsenal again on TV, I'll send a complaint myself to who ever picks these has-been id!ots.
  20. Soma, bad night?? Go on, let it all out.
  21. Henry chokes at big matches? Do you remember the World Cup qualifier against Ireland in Dublin where they had to win to have a chance..Guess who scored the one and only goal? Remember world cup 2006? Remember against Juve last year? Remember the game against Inter in San Siro where he got a hat-trick? Remember Real Madrid in the Champs league? Remember the double against Chelsea? Remember THAT GOAL against Liverpool (he mezmarized their defence), against United (he flicked the ball and BAM....in the entire stadium only Hnery knew what he was doing! and against Spurs..where he got the ball in his own half and dribbled past four or five Spurs defenders and cooly slotted it home? Bob, you said it all. I think what SB means is maybe someone like Chris Sutton or Dion Dublin who can play CF and CB. Aruna is a great striker and I always thought he would make his way to the Prem by now instead he went to Lens, a version of Martins but better skilled. SB, I think you should ask your own management team who they would prefer, as ofcourse Roman's first move as soon as he took over was to enquire about Henry and offered ludicrous amount of money for him. You're a no-brainer, get your silly facts right and don't come here expressing bullsh!t opinions, partner! FIFA Champions League? shows how much you know about football.
  22. Bo, i agree with you there. To me it was like I almost expected us to eat Liverpool, but I was sceptical because everytime I think we're gonna win, we lose. But it was a perfect comeback from the drama of the week b4. West Ham lost while we were busy beating liverpool. Toure showed Henry how to finish with class, I reckon he is a definite contender for African Playerof the year, as a english man would say, he's bloody great!!
  23. Hiz, Show me a good loser and I will show you a bad winner! (Arsene Wenger)
  24. Soma, Pardew is one hell of an ungrateful piece of sh!t. Arsene Wenger helped him a LOT when he was at Reading, teaching him about correct tactics and giving him the likes of Harper and Sidwell for free and now they are the main stay of the Reading midfield. Waving your fist in the face of any person who feels he has been unjustle done by will fire any human being into action. And now Arsene Wenger is eing portrayed as the villain, but when Chris Coleman or Alex Ferguson are doing uch worse nothing is said. West Ham used to be my second team even when they were in the Championship, but now I despise them. I know the usual thing to say is after a loss is that the ref was at fault. This game was only lost by the ref as he favoured the home team, like many refs do, Rob Styles and Graham Poll are notorious for it. I have never in my life seen a clear cut penalty in my life, the guy McSomething guy hacked Alex Hleb's leg completely, talk over camera use didnt come up because he wasn't english. You see the kind of penalties awarded to Andy Johnson and Wayne Rooney, makes me laugh sometimes. Because they take advantage of the thought that ref's think english players dnt dive, only foreigners do, which is why Hleb wasn't given the penalty. John Terry clearly said something way out of line because he didn't DO anything wrong and ref wouldn't have sent him for no reason. King was the one he offended against and Chimbonda was str8 on him. If this was said by someone like Ronaldo or Hleb, it would be all over the media and the comments would have come out str8 away. But the FA clearly seem to protect their national team players over any other premiership player. Ofcourse the comment he said hasn't come out yet, so we can speculate all we want.
