  1. Northener, and you said I get angry easy. Soma, teach your fellow supporter how to behave. Bob, don't back down!!! Warning, please do not insult [ April 07, 2007, 01:03 PM: Message edited by: Northerner ]
  2. Liverpool fans are crazy, and thats all there is to it. Any logical person will tell you that shouting your throat out for a 120 min will cause you to lose your voice. Its passion for a club at its best.
  3. Soma, that was actually a good game, esp how Man Utd was passing around the Europe team. The players that impressed me the most are Scholes, Kallstrom and Gerrard. Everybody knows Scholes, but without the pressure of 3 points, this guy showed a different side, he was showing true skill. As for Kallstrom, I heard a great a deal abou him but that was the first time I actually seen him play, and I was definitly impressed. Soma, you say you were impressed by Gerrard, maybe you can start to spell his name right then.
  4. ^^^^I'm Somali, the only thing other people can borrow from me is sugar.
  5. Take Everything I Say With A Pinch Of Salt AJ, thats all cool but I'm taking everything you say with a pinch of salt.
  6. ^^^Sxb, this forum is a place where people with some knowledge come and talk about football constructively. You are turning it into a straight up cat fight. No one is sayig you're dumb or an !diot, but just calm down and present your argument in a polite and peaceful manner. You need to forget the carling cup final, your team won and that should be all the satisfaction you need, like my friend Soma_Inc. Your constant dissing of Arsenal, only reinforces your envy. Be happy with your team and all the good things that you say are going for you guys.
  7. ^^^^Soma, I thought I was the only 1 who had a feeling that liverpool are going to meet Arsenal, to be honest, I'd rather not. You see, Arsenal have a problem against Rafa in the CL when he was with Valencia. We have a hurdle in our way, but with Kolo and Adebayor back, I feel we can do it. Congrats on your second-half comeback. Did you see the reaction of Abramovich at half-time and how it completely changed at the final whistle, deep down he knows Jose is the best manager he'll find, so all this talk about him leaving is rubbish. Barca played well last night but not well enough and L'pool should be given credit for not just sitting back, but to try and expose Barca and were doing so till the last minute. Did anyone see the brawl at Valencia, it was comical the way Navarro was getting chased by the Inter players. Apparently Navarro broke Burdisso's nose.
  8. ^^^I dnt think you should use all your knowledge all at once, atleast not in 1 post. chelsea still hold the record for the highest attendance in a league game which was actually at stamford bride against the gooners in 1932. Lol, as a "student", I'm afraid I'm gonna have to school you, oh dear lecturer. The record is actually held by Man Utd and guess what? it was broken this season. Cousin, no one is taking you seriously, I'm just laughing at you. PS: Wikipedia is not very reliable. PSS: You really are in a kingdom of aren't you.
  9. arsenal used to struggle to get 30,000 in there and that for says plenty. dude, do you even know what the highest attedance at highbury was? 73,000 in 1935. And even if that was the case, how come we fill our brand new stadium with 60,000 for EVERY game. If you're gonna mention a fact, make sure it's correct and have your Football For Dummies book ready, because you're gonna need it a lot, mate. So your little fact does "for says" plenty, plenty of bullsh!t.
  10. ^^Seen as me and Bob are the only 2 arsenal fans, i have to side with him. But AJ you do ur thing man, im diggin this little battle here. Bob is one of the most knowledgeable in here, but every once in a while you gotta be tested, so AJ keep testing him!
  11. ^^^^A lot of injuries bruv, justin hoyte's brother(gavin hoyte) was one the bench and mark randall. The only player that cudda played was fabregas but the little needed a rest badly.
  12. Apparently the FA is investigating the fact that Arsene called the linesman a liar. The linesman put in the match report that Adebayor hit Lampard, Lampard came out and said he didn't including the whole chelsea team. Now, the FA are claiming that the linesman said that Ade "aimed" a punch at Lampard. Now I'm not exactly einstein but isn't that the same thing? Instead of focusing their attention on the video and apologising for their official's mistake, they are more concerned about what happened after the game. All Adebyor did was try to calm the situation down and got sent off, any player with a right mind would react to that kind of injustice.
  13. Bob, Denilson is an amazing talent but I was really surprised that he adapted so quick. Him and Cesc are different players though, Fabregas is more of a Xavi type and sometimes you can't see what kind of effect they're having on the game until you take them out. Denilson is in the mould of a Deco, he is more skillful than Cesc and so more pleasing to the eye, but Cesc has a better passing range. Apparently this was supposed to be Walcott's last game because he was scheduled for a shoulder operation, but it was put back because of Diaby's injury, so there's plenty more to come from him this season, and more shouts of "Theo". Diaby has probably played his best game in an Arsenal shirt on Sunday, I have never seen him play like that. I recently read somewhere that Arsenal had a bid rejected from Real in January for Robinho but now he has fallen out of favor with the manager and if Capello stays on next season, Robinho will leave and it is known wenger was bidding 14 mill for him but Real already had an agreement with santos. With Ribery a firm favourite to come here in the summer, the future looks mighty bright and very very red as wenger puts the final touches to the jigsaw.
  14. Soma, all I said was congratulations. I don't agree with what you're saying. Firstly, you guys played your best team, full of ageing yet capable and experienced players. Everybody knows experience is invaluable and it's not something you can develop quickly. Most were expecting a white-wash and yet the young guns stepped up to plate and thats why I'm not feeling bitter about this, I was actually quite happy for them. Sure you guys went home with the trophy, but the real winners from my point of view are the young men who outplayed, outfought and outsmarted the chelsea team. This might sound strange, but as soon as Walcott scored the first goal I knew that Chelsea would eventually go on to win it, but I also knew that this game would help these kids out more than any loan period they could do at Plymouth Argyle. No one expected Arsenal to do anything yet, they dared to defy the odds and showed great courage and spirit. Soma, have you ever heard of the saying, it takes 2 to tango? By saying were bad losers, it basically means that we started of the whole brawl and its all Arsenal's fault, sure everyone finds it easy to bite headlines from the media written by idiotic anti-foreigners journalists. Personally I place blame on Jon Obi Mikel, who after this afternoon I have lost respect for, I used to like this guy a lot, but his attitude is disgusting and thats why Jose doesn't play him that much. Toure is not the kind of person to react to a foul like that, but Mikel pulled his shirt and then stomped on him when he brought him down, to me that is sick. I hope today has been a sneak-peak preview to what kinda fire Arsenal will bring to the Premiership, sure other teams are basking in glory now but I'm sure we will have the last laugh in the future. Because when we do win a title we do it like no other team has before. I know you guys are in bouyant mood now and rightly so, but it's time for a reality check. You guys are actually over the moon about barely beating some young kids that you should have taken care of in the first few minutes. To me, this shows how the situation at chelsea is already fading. However, congrats go out to Mourinho and esp. John Terry, I heard he is OK and went back to the stadium to celebrate with the lads, he is a true soldier. PS: Soma, Do I still get a good luck from you now?
  15. ^^^^^^Congratulations........ I need not say anymore, I'm sure Bob will speak for both of us.
  16. PSV are not exactly winning by 3 goals, its a very slender lead, all we have to do is not concede, simple as. Arsenal were clearly not physically fit enough for this game, second half they looked like a bunch of part-timers. Was I the only one who thought that Rijkaard made some terrible tactical decisions, he completely underestimated them and esp. Rafa. I'm sure he was thinking that Rafa would play for the draw, but Rafa saw his opportunity and seized it. Shevchenko scored one of his typical goals today, but Porto can still hurt them, but I dnt see chelsea losing at the bridge. PS: What about Quaresma's shot?
  17. ^^Soma, I pray to God that you 2 don't meet, there was never a more boring game than watching l'pool against chelsea. My bad, I was just focusing on tuesday's games. I dnt know who you guys are playing but Im sure you will win against porto.
  18. ^^^Northener, I read that you guys have signed Voronin from Leverkusen on a pre-contract bosman deal, any truth in that?
  19. CL is back!! Predictions: PSV V Arsenal Arsenal win 0-2 Barcelona FC V Liverpool - barcelona win 2-1 (Eto'o won't play) Man u v Lille - man utd win (not bothered about score) Milan V Celtic - Celtic will shock milan 1-0 to celtic (milan have a striker's crisis for this game) Real V Bayern - 0-0 ( they're both as wack as eachother right now) I dnt really care about the other games.
  20. Bob, I never replied because I knew sooner or later you would and theres no point in both of us pointing out the obvious. I do think Phil Dowd won't be refereeing that much in the premier league, jewell will complain and claims that several top prem managers are behind him, if thats the case, the referee association will as usual turn against their employee to satisfy the media b4 it escalates. It's amazing how last season, when all these kinda decisions were going against us, people were saying stop moaning, this is football. When we blame the refs, you hear same old arsenal, blaming everyone but themselves. Now other teams know how frustrated we were last season. PS: Great game tonight wasnt it.
  21. MLS club Colorado Rapids owner Stan Kroenke is looking to invest in Arsenal and the two parties are close to striking a ground-breaking deal. Kroenke is worth an estimated £1.02 billion. According to the Independent, the deal will focus on the Gunners' push into the North American market. The report was inconclusive as to whether current shareholders David Dein (14.9%), Nina Bracewell-Smith (15.9%) or Daniel Fiszman (25%) were looking to sell their stakes in the club. Kroenke's MLS club will be renamed either Arsenal Colorado or Colorado Arsenal. There are also plans to change the colour of the team strip to match the historic maroon strip Arsenal wore last season. Both the proposed names have been trademarked by Kroenke's Sports Enterprises firm, and their website domain names have been registered to KSE headquarters in Denver, Colorado, in anticipation of the deal being signed. Tell me another team that has renamed another team to its name, its shirt and trading name. People love the arsenal!
  22. It’s a one-one draw Exactly. I used to think Lampard was overrated but looking at his record in the past three seasons I don’t think anyone could begrudge him his position amongst the best midfielders in the world. I’m a Liverpool fan yet I rate him higher than our captain fantastic. Gerard is a better runner, tackler and leader but he lacks Lampard’s guile and positional sense. Ever see him at the edge of the penalty area? It always seems contrived and laboured. He seems to be appearing from five hundred yards back and wallops the ball as hard as he can hoping that he’ll score (which he luckily does). Lampard on the other hand reads the game better and almost all of his goals look effortless. They are not of course. It’s all about movement and positioning. You right, no-one can say lampard is sh!t, but saying he's better than gerrard in positioning is kinda wrong. How many times have seen stevie stand outside the box in a perfect position ready to kick the sh!t out the ball. They have different roles at their clubs. Chelsea focus on Lampard and make sure he gets enough help as possible. He'll hav the strikers/wingers occupying the defenders and essien and makelele takin care of the midfield, so he's just left alone to shoot. But thats not taking anything away from lampard, you need the right skill and power to handle that kinda game. Whereas stevie g doesn't have that cover and thats where his skill needs to be better than lampard and thats why we see him do those amazing things we all see and thats why he's better than lampard.
  23. Soma, check this video out, you can rate him yourself then and don't have to listen to other people "overrating" him. For the sake of it you might aswell check out the drogba one aswell and make your own judgement. Sensation Drogba
  24. Its not a multi-million advertisement as people make it out to be, they paid around 500,000. Honestly I was slightly disgusted when i found out about the deal.
  25. ^^^I'm told you guys have new owners, congrats, looks like you guys are gonna get some real money at last. Everyone talks about english players not playing for arsenal but always leave out the most important part. Right now we are the only top 4 team in england that is english owned, how about that?
