I can assure that none of these companies will extract oil in the near future, but they want to buy these blocks cheap at this stage , hold on for few years and sell later to multinational giants.
You can hire your own companies and pay for explorations. If there is oil then you enter the agreements like any other nation.Do not create a multi layer companies that own the rights while your shares dwindle.
Secure your nation and hire companies to explore for the future. Do not sell blocks.
Galbeedi in the end all these companies lost huge amount of money however Somalis in Puntland benefited. That is the risk these companies take and it becomes hit and miss in the oil exploration business. With the current price of oil, there may not be many companies willing to take this risk. It is better to allow oil exploration which is very expensive and worry about the windfall later. I am not worried about current deals. What is more important is whether there is a company willing to put millions of dollars in Somalia at the present time.

When the price of oil was $150 per barrel, Puntland under Ade Muse was able to find an oil company who will take a chance to look for oil. The company Horn Petroleum owned by Canadian African oil 45% was able to drill in Dharoor valley and did not oil. However they spend millions of dollars for workers and services. Once the price of oil collapsed it became more risk for the company to continue. I think it is better to allow companies to prospect for oil in Somalia rather than mindless opposition. At least during oil exploration whole areas nearby will become boom towns.

This could be a test by AlShabaab on the new administration of Deni. The young man who did the killing is only 20 years old also died later after being shot by port security. Puntland needs to come with new strategy to deter young men from being brain washed by the militant khawarij alshabaab.

I do not remember where the Puntalnd people voted in plebiscite how Puntalnd should be and where it is borders must be. In a conference, during the civil war, you guys had decided without no input from other Somalis that Puntalnd should be , Bari, Nugaal , Woqoyiga Mudug, Sool, Sanaag Bari and Buuhoodle.

You ask why Puntland? That is good question and here is the answer. You know that reer Puntland were the first who rose against Siyaad Barre when most Somalis where singing "kacaanka barakaysan". When the military regime collapsed reer Puntland tried to restore in vain the central government from 1991 to 1998. The south plagues by anarchy and warlordism, shabaab militancy and the North foolishly adopted SNM only clan secession instead of working for Somali unity. Faith has entrusted Puntland to be formed in order to bring local governance and seek Somali national federal government.
I believe the federal system is not an end but a means to make Somalis start from the bottom and re-establish normal governance. Once the Somalis trust each other, the federal system can be modified to be based on the well established 18 regions each headed by elected governors not presidents.

Anyways, Deni is spending heavy here to legitimize himself after buying the election with 30 million dollars financed partially by Damjadiid bankrollers. Holac may be your favorite candidate did not win the election. Seriously that is Xaji Xayraan's motto for the past few years. On the contrary Puntland just get renewed with new leadership. there will more more emphasis on internal good governance and we shall see what Deni accomplishes.
Galbeedi's opinion of reer Mudug vs reer Bari is just geeljire talk. I don't think he understand the dynamics of Puntland politics. Dr. Gas lost big because of internal issues such as corruption and Tukaraq. Deni will concentrate on human development such as creating jobs instead of infrastructure. I beg to differ, Puntland will only go up and that is far from dead.

We knew Kenya's were cowards. They should go after Alshabaab instead of destroying crucial and critical communication infrastructure of Hormuud that serves hundreds of Somali villages. This is not the way to win hearts and minds of Somalis near the Kenya border.

Galbeedi Alshabaab's aim is the destruction of the elite Somalis regardless if they are from the south or the north. You do acknowledge that the city of Mogadishu have suffered the most ifrom Alshabaab or anarchist mayhem. The people in the capital city should rise up against these senseless killings and should work with police to apprehend these killers.
