  1. "The office of the prime minister operates as a professional and the people who work there are from different walks of life. He makes decisions based on it's merit but because of certain cultural issue, certain elders or politicians would like to appeal to Farmaajo.  Farmaajo acts like the  chief of the Somali clans to mediate and do the necessary compromises, and that is were the so called 4.5 thing takes place. Yet, the biggest institutional difference between Farmaajo and Hassan  Sheikh is that there is no chance to get any money  from  the office of the president. Unlike his predecessor, he can not go to he bank and write you  a cheque or give cash to anybody. If you are lucky enough to get to his office, you will nt get any dollar from the president. All expenses from the minsters and government operation  follow through the finance ministry and invoiced to the bank.  Those who get used to get ready cash are not happy, but the financial system is becoming very transparent."

This confirms there is less corruption in the FG and if they continue we shall expect more progress.

And that is the whole story. Which was the "real reason" the plane was searched and delayed inordinately. And only personnel without equipment was eventually allowed to leave with that plane that came to pick them up in the first place. This is the story, my friend, and the he rest is your usual "spit-warmed-fiction" and nothing else, indeed.

No you wrong again. Why will Puntland humiliate UAE if they wanted to keep good relations? How do you know Cumar Abdirashid was mediating?. Some local news outlets are reporting that UAE wanted Puntland to claim the seized money which they refused. Whatever the reason, Puntland did the right thing and supports the national government. No one has problems with this except die hard secessionist who have no credibility in this matter.

  3. Che I think it is UAE that is in awkward position. It is a major loss for them to lose FG and Puntland. Of couse both will lose millions unless UAE is ordered by Washington to continue funding anti terrorist efforts. It is high time Somali leaders come up with local financing of vital national projects.

  4. Oodweyne you have wild imagination. They were detained because they were taking military equipment out with them. Once they surrounded the equipment they were let go. The rest of your post does not make sense.

This whole thing is misleading,, Emirates decided to leave and puntland were trying to stop them from leaving  and telling the emirates that they got nothing to do with muqdisho.

That is nonsense. Why will they leave, they already invested money in Bosaso port, they would love nothing better than to have Puntland side with UAE rather than FG. just like the secessionist enclave.

Puntland always differs to FG for issues of national security and does not consider itself a separate country. Puntland is indeed a federal state that follows the constitution. Most Somalis have no idea what a federal system is and want to go back to the centralized system of late dictator Siyad Barre where only Mogadishu decides everything.

Over all trajectory of the SFG's achievements things are definitely moving in the right direction despite errors and internal/external forces bent on ensuring Somalia never gets on its feet.

Agreed. Don't listen to OO waa sirdoon Tigrey ah. When he says things are getting worse in Somalia, assume the opposite. Ethiopia itself after Zinawi is unable to manage the divide and control system setup by late Zinawi.

Oh, if the wishes, hopes and habaar iyo inkaar of dying secessionists were only accepted. Keep up the crocodile tears, Farmaajo is here to stay. Even if he leaves tomorrow, united Soomaaliya is here to stay and gets more stronger.

Secessionists always hoping for chaos are again disappointed. Somalia will keep moving forward, albeit sometimes self inflicted wounds. Jawaari functioned very well under the corruption of Hassan Sheikh but the new team Farmaajo and Khyre will not do business the old way.

  8. Somaliland has been trying to use sool as way to secede from Somalia  to no avail. I told Suldaan that his dream of secession from Somalia depends on others: Soolers, Awdalites, Sanagians and now West Burco community is ready to jump ship once Mogadishu is stabilized. Puntland is wise to stay away from inter Somali bloodshed in Sool and instead focus on development and progress.

  9. So why Colonel Biixi is crying again: Read below-

    http://puntlandpost.net/2018/03/31/somaliland-oo-xukuumadda-soomaaliya-ku-eedaysay-in-ay-cuna-qabatayn-ku-soo-rogtay/

Madaxweyne Biixi ayaa sheegay in xukuumadda Soomaaliya ay ka baxday dhammaan heshiisyadii ku saabsanaa in aan la siyaasadayn mashaariicda horumarineed, islamarkaana ay cuna-qabatayn saartay, guud ahaan mashaariicdi caalamku ka fulinjiray Somaliland, kuwaasoo uu sheegay in loo wareejiyay magaalada Muqdisho.

  10. "Michael Keating… What’s his position? It’s a pretty big standoff between a de facto autonomous region agreeing to a military base by another country, the UAE.  Some people say this was permitted under an agreement [reached in Turkey, which Inner City Press put online here].  Some say they aren’t.  What’s the UN’s position on the UAE building a military base in Somaliland? Deputy Spokesman:  Ultimately, these are discussions that need to be resolved bilaterally between the Governments of Somalia and the United Arab Emirates.”

See the above highlighted. Did former President Hassan Sheikh allowed it, very likely. The question is are Farmaajo and Khayre determined or is this a bargaining position. There is no question that the FG has a lot of power over Somaliand and other regions but so far it choose not to exercise it.

    An Ethiopian Collapse:

Ethiopia is in the throes of its second state of emergency in just as many years, and the Color Revolution blockage of DAAR might be all that’s needed to provoke the Oromo into reviving their Hybrid War campaign and possibly pushing the country past the edge of collapse.

OO when you started posting here you, did expect The Ti grey regime will be in serious trouble? You though you will enjoy the Somali tragedy and started to lecture us. Unfortunately your house is now on fire so why don't you update us your intelligence assessment of what is happening behind the scenes in Ethiopia where there is apparent power struggle.

  12. To play favoritism in the commercial business is very bad for Somaliland and Silaanyo before and Colonel Bixi continue to deny Telesom the right to conduct its business in the interest of it's shareholders and customers. As I write, GolisTeecom now has high speed broadband internet that is much faster and 500 times cheaper than Telesom and Somtel (Oman vs Djibouti lines). Both companies signed the contract to lay broadband sea lines from Salala, Oman to Bosaso and Berbera. The FG and Puntland both approved the project but Somaliland refused in order to keep very expensive monopoly high speed broadband internet for few businessman and politicians.

  13. I think the main problem is Somaliland bringing in Ethiopia and giving them 19% of the port income for no legitimate reason. DP World is putting substantial investment and so it make sense for them to have controlling interest in the port. Why give Ethiopia 19%.

The PM Khayre is taking a hardliner all of a sudden in a deal that has already being implemented? What made him take this strong stand which might also alienate Somaliland, Ethiopia and UAE? Would he be able to stand his ground and can he withstand the pressure that will be put on to him to rescind this decision? The outcome of this dispute might cripple the federal government or might showcase the power of the federal government over regional governments.

  14. Ducaale,

There is no hypocrisy in advocating for Somali unity unless you intend to utter childish insult. A supporter of secession does not have moral standing  to talk bad about Somali unity.

OO you should know by now that Somalis take their diin seriously. Just because some misuse the diin, does not mean we should abandon our values.  We shall defeat those who use our diin for evil intentions like alshabaab. If all the Somalis adhered to the values of our diin, we could have resolved our differences through dialogue and compromise rather than thru violence and war. Islam means peace and that is what diin promotes. Somalis need it and Ethiopians may need more of it at the moment.
