  1. Whats with this talk about “men need to loss weigh t tooâ€. obesity is not a male problem!

Warrior, the size of their posterior says they've lost their dignity. I understand that culture maybe be at fault here to an extent, but that is not an excuse. You said yourself that even though culture dictates otherwise, you've been able to maintain a healthy BMI, so why can't these gigantic somali women do the same? Culture is not holding a gun to their head telling them to eat, eat, and eat some more!

True that there maybe a medical condition at play or that depression or other mental conditions maybe the cause, but this is the case in only a minority of these larger then appropriate women. I disagree with you that the solution lays with community or family or even men!

This is a female problem and females need to solve it. You women need to stop getting us men to solve all your problems and do something for yourselfs for once!

  2. She deserves to die. Why was she engaging in illicit sexual relations in the first place, doesn't she know zina is forbidden? Somali girls these days; they so out of control!

  3. Why don't they respect themselves and attempt to keep their dignity as human beings?

Just because food is available doesn't mean you should eat it! We need to start training out young girls to learn to control their weight and register them at gyms as soon they reach the teen years. I am tired of seeing somali women weighing in at 200+ pounds. For you here with body mass indexes over 35, I assure you I am not Anti-fat people, but life with obesity is not even worth living. Get some help and get off your a-ss. If nothing else works, lets send all these fat somali women back to Africa so they can starve down to a healthy weight and acceptable appearance.

  4. All the things that the sister mentioned are great.

But one doesn't need to get married to get all those things. Many people are living life without the hassle of marriage yet with all the benefits of marriage.

So is marriage needed any longer? What’s the point of marriage then?

  5. Yeah, Somali are very much influenced by outside forces. Which is understandable taken where they live and how small and powerless they are. I wonder how much of what we think of as "Somali" culture is in fact east African culture.

For example, I was very surprised recently to learn how much Somali music and Eritrean music sound alike.

  6. Reminds me of that Destiny's Child song:

    Destiny's Child - Cater 2 U Lyrics

    [Verse 1 Beyonce]

Baby I See You Working Hard

I Want To Let You Know I'm Proud,

Let You Know That I Admire What You Do

The More If I Need To Reassure You, My Life Would Be Purposeless

    Without You (Yeah)

If I Want It (Got It)

When I Ask You (You Provide It)

You Inspire Me To Be Better

You Challenge Me For The Better

Sit Back And Let Me Pour Out My Love Letter

    Let Me Help You

    Take Off Your Shoes

    Untie You Shoestrings

    Take Off Your Cufflinks (Yeah)

What You Want To Eat Boo? (Yeah)

    Let Me Feed You

    Let Me Run Your Bathwater

    Whatever You Desire, I'll Aspire

    Sing You A Song

    Turn My Game On

    I'll Brush Your Hair

Help Put Your Do Rag On

    Want A Foot Rub? (Yeah)

    You Want A Manicure?

Baby I'm Yours I Want To Cater To You Boy

    [Chorus]

    Let Me Cater To You

Cause Baby This Is Your Day

    Do Anything For My Man

    Baby You Blow Me Away

I Got Your Slippers, Your Dinner, Your Dessert, And So Much

    More

Anything You Want Just Let Me Cater To You

    Inspire Me From The Heart,

    Can't Nothing Tear Us Apart

    You're All That I Want In A Man;

I Put My Life In Your Hands

I Got Your Slippers, Your Dinner, Your Dessert, And So Much

    More

Anything You Want, I Want To Cater To You

    [Verse 2 Kelly]

    Baby I'm Happy You're Home,

Let Me Hold You In My Arms

I Just Want To Take The Stress Away From You

Making Sure That I'm Doing My Part (Oh)

Boy Is There Something You Need Me To Do (Oh)

If You Want It (I Got It)

Say The Word (I Will Try It)

I Know Whatever I'm Not Fulfilling (Oh)

No Other Woman Is Willing (Oh)

I'm Going To Fulfill Your Mind, Body, And Spirit

    I Promise You (Promise You)

    I'll Keep Myself Up (Oh)

    Remain The Same Chick (Yeah)

You Fell In Love With (Yeah)

I'll Keep It Tight, I'll Keep My Figure Right

I'll Keep My Hair Fixed, Keep Rocking The Hottest Outfits

When You Come Home Late Tap Me On My Shoulder, I'll Roll Over

Baby I Heard You, I'm Here To Serve You (I'm Lovin It, I'm Lovin

    It)

If It's Love You Need, To Give It Is My Joy

All I Want To Do, Is Cater To You Boy

    [Chorus]

    [bridge Michelle]

I Want To Give You My Breath, My Strength, My Will To Be Here

That's The Least I Can Do,

    Let Me Cater To You

    Through The Good (Good)

    The Bad (Through The Bad)

The Ups And Downs (Ups And Downs)

I'll Still Be Here For You

    Let Me Cater To You

    Cause You're Beautiful (You're Beautiful)

I Love The Way You Are (You Are)

    Fulfill Your Every Desire (Desire)

Your Wish Is My Command (Command)

I Want To Cater To My Man

    Your Heart (Your Heart)

So Pure Your Love Shines Through(Shines Through)

The Darkness We'll Get Through (So Much)

So Much Of Me Is You (Is You)

I Want To Cater To My Man

Yoonis_Cadue, am sure you wouldn't mind getting with Kelly. But in like 15, verse 2 she makes a promise that might conflict with your goal of many kids ;)

  7. I think the larger point in question is why do people feel they have to "protect" females far more than males? Example, why is it a guy can drive and girl can't? Why does a women need a mahram to take her everywhere?

Let's take the case of the women needing a man to watch over her while she's on the Internet. Is a women unable to make the right choice?

  8. i would say there poetry, their music, the way they dress (the women) and the life stype of the nomads (if there are still any). There is also the traditions they have and the family structures qabiil and all that. whats so hard to define about it?

  9. why is Farhio showing off so much... she could have been like am going to school soon and working. She didn't have to say she was going for her masters, she didn't have to say she was making all that money at her nice new government job. She didn’t have to be so explicit

  10. With all this talk of the Somali state breaking up, it recently came to my attention that I might have to choose which of the new state I want to live in. So I am asking you Somali experts here to tell me which state would be best to live in.

Some characteristics I desire in a state are:

    *personal safety and security

    *a good climate

    *a good economy

    *an educated populace

*a strong and just state (it doesn’t have to be democratic so long as they don’t interfere with my life too much)

    *stable political situation

    Thanks.
