  1. Other than Dahabshiil and WorldRemit, what other Xawaalado are out there?
  2. Whatever is making the rounds in London is super nasty. Got here and got slapped with it and been down for 2.5days. Other than that - Happy Friday
  3. My saving grace this Ramadan = two weeks of the Olympics = two weeks of working from home. I dont think fasting 17-18 hour days continously while getting on with travel and work is possible for me.... waan suuxi! Ramadan Kariim ya SOL. I hope you all have a wonderful Ramadan filled with cibaada, family, friends and feasts

But, love or should I say real love isn't something I think exists before marriage . I do believe people use the word "love" rather loosely these days. Aaliyah - I'm worried for you that you will one day InshaAllah get married, only to realise what you felt before marriage was more exciting lol.
  5. Whatever NG! It works... ...add a bit of stress and you can loose hair too.

  7. lol@Chimera - I assure you Serenity is not in need of that service Juxa - I'll call you when I finish work .
  8. Why do you all make fun of Abtigii's delimna's instead of offering contructive advice. Here is my take on the matter A - tell the wife. After some proper telling off and not putting out, you will learn your lesson.
  9. Ngonge - Morning. You called and I heard Juxa - are you off to a Somali professional networking dinner tonight? If not - wanna come? Maadeey waa i kan. Now take back your habaar qumayahow!
  10. Faarah - there is a clique in place and you're not cool enough to be in it. So step aside. P.s. Notice how only *some* ppl get these mentions too . The little bundle of joy looks gorgeous to boot. Congrats friend!
  11. Val - why dont you call me much anymore? Why do I have to ask you on SOL . Salaam everyone else. Happy 4th of July Americans (happy for the holiday, nothing else!). I'm feeling totally frustrated today with the people I work with - I think I want to strangle them. Incompetent doesnt even begin to explain it. Grrr!
  12. I wonder how many of you so 'convincingly' dishing out parental advice are parents? Dont judge a man unless you can walk a mile in his/her shoe comes to mind .
  13. NGONGE;843327 wrote: As content as a sleeping baby with its thumb in its mouth. LOL. You have to teach me how to not get effected man!
  14. I think its a way to get around being publicly gay....noh? Dont they do something similar in Iran? Sanctioned by law..
  15. Salaam All - its just Tuesday, would you blv? But I already feel exhausted to the bone! I need a holiday more than I can express...
  16. Its always good to hear of Somali kids doing well and their proud parents! Well done AT&T.
  17. Juxa - of course reer SL wax waa lagu darsan kara... I'm not sure JB specifically, laakin inteena kale waxaanu iska nahay dad miskiin ah. So - we've in SOL's future investment, a cookie shop and take-away. Hungari baa naftii noo keenay, ma istidhahdeen?
  18. Dont worry Chimera - I intend to do something about it! Our beatiful hablos faces are lost in all that baby powder!
  19. Juxa - cooks are abound. The real problem in starting a take-away business are: 1. Lack of proper addresses (after a while, using door colours and rocks, just doesnt cut it). 2. People's attitude (phoney callers can and will call you, make orders and just waste your time and money and there is no way to trace phones and owners). Since both these issues are likely to happen to with taxis too - wonder how the current business deals with them? JB?
  20. What SL women need more than lingerie is make-up. Decent make-up. I'm tired of casper-the-friendly-ghost look.
  21. A taxi company n Hargeysa? Wow - wonderful! Next - can we please try and set up take-away. The diaspora does not like cooking on holiday (or using archaic cooking tools) or going out for EVERY meal. Big business opportunity me thinks! I had such a horrific morning. Woke up to the screeching of a bird stuck in our chimney, down the pipe and right next to the opening in my room.. from 5:30 am. Initially I didnt realise the noise was coming from inside the house, so went walking around at that unholy hour, looking for the wounded animal thats screaming in pain.. couldnt find it, got drenched. Eventually called the RSPCA, only for them to claim they cant open chimneys and what not without permission from the home owners. So called the home owners and their incompetent emergency team was not even in. So had to leave home with the poor thing still stuck! Told my mum to sort it... ... and now I've the pleasure of dealing of men's egos. I hate managing people! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
  22. You're right Chimera - we need visionaries for that. And what are Somali visionaries doing? Busying themselves writing fantasy novels, I hear :P... and thats when they're not loudly proclaiming they dont intend to go back home in the near future
  23. Loving the show of gallantry of the SOL men on this thread If they will actually do it is another matter
  24. Yes it is - I'm totally wavering on whether to go or not! I can only know on the day.... I hate commuting on my days off, esp when the traffic is predicted to be horrible.
