Girls are no more to blame than guys for falling in love and eloping with that someone. Surely you don’t buy that women are more able to fight temptation than men. It’s simply unfortunate that we women are the bearer of the evidence.

  2. Outrageous kaab ya ladhaca. Of all people to embezzle from they had to target us poor sods!

Abwaan, I think you can still pay directly in one hit to the loan company if you have the means.

  3. For those of you with a student loan you might find the below article of interest.

For most unsuspecting graduates who are paying back their student loans, the inland revenue takes payments directly from your employer in the same way as they take tax. i.e. the more you earn the more you pay, this includes bonuses etc.

However after taking monthly amounts the inland Revenue does not pay this directly to the student Loan company, instead they wait until the end of the financial Year in April and then pay the entire year off to student loans.

The effect of this is that the inland revenue hold on to your monthly payments For up to a year earning themselves interest. During the same period, because student loans have not received these funds, they in turn charge the graduate interest on the outstanding amount even though it has been paid to the inland revenue.

Bottom line is that for those in this position we pay interest to student loans on money which has been taken from our accounts which the inland revenue keeps and earns interest on. Personally I didn't sign up for this and it makes me MAD!

I have researched this and there are others who have become aware of this and I plan to join the fight! As a start I strongly suggest you sign up to the on line petition below. I am looking into the legality of what is being done to us as I can see no other description for this other than THEFT!!!!

Sign up now and join the fight. Send this to everyone! I will be forwarding

dates for the march on Parliament!

  4. The killing of any defenceless human regardless of their religion in such a cruel manner is sickening and unethical.

Lakiinse the so-called self-established Somali government is no better than the barbarians who committed the said crime. It is clearly obvious that the majority of Somali do not endorse such government.

  5. I found this new stance from the government harsh and abhorrent! Banning the veil is in fact more so a violation of individuals’ religious rights rather than a threat to community cohesion.

A teacher should be assessed on her ability to educate her students rather than her dress code. The government ramble about the communication barrier and threat to security associated with wearing a full veil however statistically none of the 7/7 or 9/11 terrorists wore a full veil to execute their mission.

If we are able to communicate electronically or over the phone then what’s the fuss with communicating with someone wearing a veil.

And pray tell what's the medium level for men.

Personally each individual should be submissive to their partner. A married woman is much more equiped in certain aspect of the relationship than man and vice versa.

  7. Of all the communities I’ve come across Somali is the most ineffective and selfish one. The so-called community charity leaders are naught but a band of vagabonds with the sole pursuit of filling their pockets illicitly.

There are numerous Somali young men in British jails and I have yet to come across a Somali community providing any outreach service. Other communities have dedicated helpline for their prisoners, appointed visitors to ensure that prisoners are not mistreated and counsellors for the affected families.

What do we Somalis offer? Why are we shocked each time we hear that a young boy is murdered? The situation will worsen unless Somalis themselves recognise these problems and intervene.

These young adults are crying out for help, they have been uprooted and thrust into an alien country where they are expected to adept so effortlessly.

We do not have to rely on community leaders to help our people. Every able and learnt individual can support his community be it free tutoring, sports activities, counselling, mentoring or any other useful support that would channel young people energy towards positive directions.

Be proactive and do something for your people today rather than reacting to situation such as the above.
