Honestly, I know some of you may not agree with me on this but Honestly, I believe the only thing that is good about our culture is the Fact that we are all Muslims!! we are one of the Racist, separatist, tribalist People on earth. However though,I'm sure there are other people who are like us .... Look at the sudanese, Bosnians, Iran's, Arab's, Nigerians, all of these cultures as soon as they Migrated here they adopted the American culture,,, espcially the Afro-amerian culture... Baggy pants,Slangs etc... What was that Somali saying? "Biyo kaa badan iyo Dad Kaa badanba Waye Ku'hafiyaan"? I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly, but I'm sure you understand Peace...

  19. Salaama Nur, Thanks! Brotha..... Well, I got this from my stay in Saudi, I visted the Islamic Natural History Museum which has selected pre-Islamic and Islamic inscriptions from the Epigraph!! In the meantime though you can read other Numerous Sources Such as, the Twisted Scriptures by Mary Alice Chrnalogar Which is Really a great book which talks mostly about how all the Divine scriptures were Twisted Except the Quran! and their revelation etc... Aslo , The month of Ramadan is significant for a number of events. It was during this month that the Noble Qur'an was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad-salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam-The Qur'an states; "We have indeed revealed this message in the Night of Power, And what will explain to you the Night of Power? The Night of Power is better than one thousand months. Therein came down the Angels and the Spirit, By ALLAH's permission, on every errand: Peace!, thus until the rise of morn." For more info about the Museum and the revelations of the devine books and their time of revelation check these websites or you can order Islamic books about them on the 2nd site... 1. http://www.mnh.si.edu/epigraphy/ 2.http://www.musalmanonline.net/index.html Good Luck...... ------------------ "If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their trust" al-Qur'an 3:160

  21. SCWW All...... Brotha Nur, Though I'm not 100% Sure.. I think you're refering to the guest that visits us once a year and brings with it all sorts of goodness and happiness. A guest that brings with it the wide Mercy and Forgiveness of Allah. A guest that brings with it a smell of Paradise. A guest that makes the believer closer to Allah and His Paradise and away from Shaytan and Hell Fire... You're refering to RAMADAN!!the month of the Qur'an, the month of Mercy, the month of Forgiveness, the month of prayer at night and Suhoor, the month of solidarity and mutual help, the month of all blessings. We are advised in our merciful religion of Islam to be kind and generous towards the guest. Most, if not all the Divine scriptures were revealed during the month of Ramadan. The book of Prophet Ibraheem (Abraham), alaihis salaam was revealed on the 1st of Ramadan. The Torah (Old Testament) was revealed after 6 days of Ramadan had passed, and the Injeel (New Testament) was revealed after 13 days of Ramadan had passed. The Qur'an was revealed on the Night of Power. again I'm not 100% sure but this is what I think each Word stands for? R= Ramadan or Ramadhan. M= Mercy N= Does it stand for the Night of Power?? Hopefully you will tell us?? ------------------ "If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their trust" al-Qur'an 3:160 [This message has been edited by LadyFatima (edited 11-03-2001).]
  22. Jaber.. what part of don't celebrate their holiday's didn't U understand??.....lol Halloween too geeljire, Halloween is the celabration of Evil... We are muslims we don't worship nor do we celebrate evil... I was surprised to see my Next door "akhwaan" Neighbor dressing up their kids and leting them go out to 'Trick or treat'.... What a hypocrites They're.....one minute they're lecturing me about wearing Hijaab the second.. they're worshiping evil! Just read this article about the History of Halloween....... Behind the name... Halloween, or the Hallow E'en as they call it in Ireland , means All Hallows Eve, or the night before the 'All Hallows', also called 'All Hallowmas', or 'All Saints', or 'All Souls' Day, observed on November 1. In old English the word 'Hallow' meant 'sanctify'. Roman Catholics, Episcopalians and Lutherians used to observe All Hallows Day to honor all Saints in heaven, known or unknown. They used to consider it with all solemnity as one of the most significant observances of the Church year. And Catholics, all and sundry, was obliged to attend Mass. The Romans observed the holiday of Feralia, intended to give rest and peace to the departed. Participants made sacrifices in honor of the dead, offered up prayers for them, and made oblations to them. The festival was celebrated on February 21, the end of the Roman year. In the 7th century, Pope Boniface IV introduced All Saints' Day to replace the pagan festival of the dead. It was observed on May 13. Later, Gregory III changed the date to November 1. The Greek Orthodox Church observes it on the first Sunday after Pentecost. Despite this connection with the Roman Church, the American version of Halloween Day celebration owes its origin to the ancient (pre-Christian) Druidic fire festival called "Samhain", celebrated by the Celts in Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Samhain is pronounced "sow-in", with "sow" rhyming with cow. In Ireland the festival was known as Samhein, or La Samon, the Feast of the Sun. In Scotland, the celebration was known as Hallowe'en. In Welsh it's Nos Galen-gaeof (that is, the Night of the Winter Calends. According to the Irish English dictionary published by the Irish Texts Society: "Samhain, All Hallowtide, the feast of the dead in Pagan and Christian times, signalizing the close of harvest and the initiation of the winter season, lasting till May, during which troops (esp. the Fiann) were quartered. Faeries were imagined as particularly active at this season. From it the half year is reckoned. also called Feile Moingfinne (Snow Goddess). (1) The Scottish Gaelis Dictionary defines it as "Hallowtide. The Feast of All Soula. Sam + Fuin = end of summer." (2) Contrary to the information published by many organizations, there is no archaeological or literary evidence to indicate that Samhain was a deity. The Celtic Gods of the dead were Gwynn ap Nudd for the British, and Arawn for the Welsh. The Irish did not have a "lord of death" as such. Thus most of the customs connected with the Day are remnants of the ancient religious beliefs and rituals, first of the Druids and then transcended amongst the Roman Christians who conquered them. 24. SCWW All, Walaahi Everything I read in this articles almost seems to be familiar! a lot of the Minor signs we already have them in this century... Lets just hope that we would be gone when the Major sings are seen.....Subxana'alaah..... I use to remember my grandmother saying... "Allow ha na dhigin xiligia Qiyaamaha" I say the same now... I found these 2different articles about the End of time.. They're about the Same but have more or less of the Signs of Qiyamah.... Plz Read. In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful Signs Before the Day of Judgement Surely, knowledge of the Hour is with Allah alone. Holy Qur’an 31:34 In light of the common links between Judeo-Christian and Islamic traditions and teachings, it is interesting to look at what is said regarding the Day of Judgement and the signs of its approach. Judeo-Christian sources mainly consist of the Book of Daniel, Ezekiel, and the Book of Revelations, as well as some scattered sources within other books of the Old and New Testaments. Islamic sources include the Qur'an and the multiple volumes of the sayings and traditions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), called ahadith. There are many similarities between what these great traditions say regarding the signs of the Day of Judgement. Even a minimal exposure to Judeo-Christian signs of the End of Time is enough to see that many of the same prophesies exist in the Islamic tradition. However, the differences are important to point out. Much of the Judeo-Christian teaching regarding these signs are based on frequent reinterpretations of vague Scripture. Whereas the signs enumerated by Islamic sources are quite clear and concrete, with little, if any, room for interpretation. In addition, the vastness of the material available within the Islamic tradition points to the finality of Allah's Message. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Last Messenger sent to humanity, said that Allah has never sent a messenger who did not warn his people about al-Masih ad-Dajjal (the AntiChrist). And it only follows that Allah would give the Last Messenger the most information relating to this subject, as his followers will be the ones experiencing these signs. What follows is a small sample of the signs which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) enumerated for us. They have been divided into minor and major signs... The Minor Signs: The disappearance of knowledge and the appearance of ignorance (Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, & Ahmad) Books/writing will be widespread and knowledge will be low (Ahmad) Adultery and fornication will be prevalent (The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that this has never happened without new diseases befalling the people, which their ancestors had not known.) (Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, & Al-Haythami) When fornication becomes widespread among your leaders (The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that this will happen when the people stop forbidding evil) (Ibn Majah) Adultery and fornication will be performed in the open The consumption of intoxicants will be widespread (Bukhari & Muslim) Women will outnumber men......eventually 50:1 (Bukhari, Muslim, & Ahmad) Killing, killing, killing (Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, & Ahmad) People will beat others with whips like the tails of oxen (Muslim) ?The Slave Trade The children will be filled with rage (at-Tabarani, al-Hakim) Children will be foul (at-Tabarani, al-Hakim) Women will conspire (at-Tabarani, al-Hakim) Rain will be acidic or burning (at-Tabarani, al-Hakim) Children of fornication will become widespread or prevalent (at-Tabarani, al-Hakim) When a trust becomes a means of making a profit (at-Tirmidhi, Al-Haythami) Gains will be shared out only among the rich, with no benefit to the poor (at-Tirmidhi) Paying zakat becomes a burden and miserliness becomes widespread; charity is given reluctantly (at-Tirmidhi & Al-Haythami) Miserliness will be thrown into the hearts of people (Bukhari) Episodes of sudden death will become widespread (Ahmad) There will be people who will be brethren in public but enemies in secret (He was asked how that would come about and replied, "Because they will have ulterior motives in their mutual dealings and at the same time will fear one another.") Masih ad-Dajjal (The AntiChrist) The Mahdi The appearance of Masih al-’Isa (Jesus Christ), the son of Mary (peace be upon him) Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog) The destruction of the Ka’bah and the recovery of its treasure Emergence of the Beast The smoke Three major landslides (one in the East, one in the West, and one on the Arabian peninsula) The wind will take the souls of the believers The rising of the sun from the west The fire will drive the people to their final gathering place Three blasts of the trumpet (fear & terror, death, resurrection) ------------------------------------ 2nd part. Qiyamah will come when... Hadhrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (R.A.) narrates that Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhii Wassallam) said, "Qiyamah will come... * When it will be regarded as a shame to act on Quranic injunctions. * When untrustworthy people will be regarded as trustworthy and the trustworthy will be regarded as untrustworthy. * When it will be hot in winter (and vice versa). * When the length of days is stretched, i.e. a journey of a few days is covered in a matter of hours. * When orators and lecturers lie openly. * When people dispute over petty issues. * When women with children come displeased on account of them bearing offspring, and barren women remain happy on account of having no responsibility of offspring. * When oppression, jealousy, and greed become the order of the day. * When people blatantly follow their passions and whims. * When lies prevail over the truth. * When violence, bloodshed and anarchy become common. * When immorality overtakes shamelessness and is perpetrated publicly. * When legislation matters pertaining to Deen is handed over to the worst elements of the Ummat, and if people accept them and are satisfied with their findings, then such persons will not smell the fragrance of Jannat. * When the offspring become a cause of grief and anger (for their parents). The following is part of a lengthy Hadith narrated by Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood (R.A.) when he inquired from Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam) about the Signs of Qiyamah. * Music and musical instruments will be found in every home. * People will indulge in homosexuality. * There will be an abundance of illegitimate children. * There will be an abundance of critics, tale-carriers, back- biters and taunters in society. * People will establish ties with strangers and sever relations with their near and dear ones. * Hypocrites will be in control of the affairs of the community and evil, immoral people will be at the helm of business establishments. * The Masjid will be decorated, but the hearts of the people will be devoid of guidance. * The courtyards of Masjids will be built beautifully and high mimbars (pulpits) will be erected. * Gangsters and evil people will prevail. * Various wines will be consumed excessively. Auf bin Malik (R.A.) says: I came to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) while he was in his skin tent during the Tabuk expedition. He said to me, "Count six things before the advent of Qiyamah: 1 My death 2 The conquest of Jerusalem 3 Mass deaths amongst you people, just as when sheep die in large numbers during an epidemic 4 Abundance of wealth to such an extent that if a person were to be given a hundred Dinars he will still not be satisfied 5 General anarchy and bloodshed, that no Arab household will be spared from it 6 Then a life of peace as a result of a peace agreement between you and the Banil Asfaar (Romans) which they will break and attack you with a force consisting of eighty flags and under each flag will be an army of twelve thousand men." (Hadith: Sahih Bukhari). IRAQ and SYRIA Abu Nadhrah says: "We were sitting in the company of Jabir bin Abdullah (R.A.) when he said: 'Soon the people of IRAQ will neither receive any food (grain) nor any money.'" We asked, "Why would such a thing happen?" He replied, "Because of the non-Arabs." (i.e they will prevent food from going into Iraq, in the form of "sanctions" to this day.) He then said: "Soon the people of Shaam (SYRIA) will neither receive any money nor grain." We asked as to why this would happen. He replied: "Because of the Romans (christians)." CONCEITED PEOPLE: Hadhrat Abbas (R.A) narrates that Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam) has said, "Islam will spread far and wide, across the seas. Horses will cross the land and seas in the cause of Jihaad. Then a time will come wherein a group of people will emerge which recites the Quraan. They will claim, 'We have recited the Quraan and is there anyone who understands the Quraan better than us? There is NO ONE more proficient than us in the study of the Quraan.' Then Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam) asked the Sahaba, "Do you see any good in their claims?" The Sahaba replied, "No". Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam) said, "But these conceited claimants will be from my Ummah and will be the fuel of the Fire." from "Signs of Qiyamah" (excerpts) by Mohammed Ali Ibn Zubair Ali ------------------ "To understand others you should get behind their eyes and walk down their spine."
