You missed the point. This isn't about me (since you like to try and personalize everything in every topic) but the subject at hand. I speak nothing but the truth in here that is what burns a lot of other Landers in here. Personally I don't buy that "F*qa*h" bogeyman since Siad Bare is long gone, Ceel Afweyn is a good example most of those bullets were used against Silanyo sponsored terrorists not a imaginary monster hiding under the bed.
-
According to Oodweye "F*q*s*h" also caused the massacre of dozens of people in Ceel Afweyn last year (mainly belonging to Silanyo folks). Talk about about delusions. It won't do you any justice trying to shift every blame on the bogeyman under the bed.
-
Oodweyne Stop being delusional there is no such thing as beesha dheexe politically speaking. It is each habar on its own Well civil war can break out anytime due to tensions. We already know what happened in Ceel Afweyn (over dozens dead) I predicted it weeks before it happened. So between me and you it is clear who has more insight and intel within the west Burco community, you live in lalaland niyohow. I mean what kind of 50 year old believes that Somaliland will get recognition? ciyaarta masjiidka ka dhaaf. I am a realist while you're not. I can tell you for a fact Somalilanders are very fragmented backhome or in diaspora at the moment and there is no such thing as "beesha dheexe".
-
Oodweyne as the saying goes "Somaliland wa reero isku tagay ee qaran maha" Translation: Somaliland is made of tribes that gathered together it is not a nation. Nothing is sacred in Somaliland apart from shared blood ( clans). If the Sanaagians don't see their interest in the current regime or their interests undermined then they will kick them out of Sanaag and block them from having any access in there like what happened to your Egal. No amount of huffing and puffing will change the reality.

I doubt the Ethiopians will honor that "30% exports/imports from Berbera port" anyone that thinks Ethiopians can be trusted is very gullible, it was just few weeks ago when they threw Sland under the bus . It is very sad that Somaliland doesn't even own a majority share in its own port anymore rather the least (16%). This will create a revenue problem for the future Sland governments which is what Kulmiye intended.
-
Oodweyne is now trying to convince us the Somaliland project helped this community liberate Ceerigaabo . You might fool others but not me. Ceerigaabo was taken over by the HY SNM branch in 1989 (Somaliland) did not even exist at that time. At the end of the day this useless project (which will never be recognized) will be put to sleep if it doesn't meet the interests of the community. Simple as. Somaliland needs this community not the other-way around.
-
In what world is a country paid to use a port?
-
This is why I have said recognition for Somaliland is very unlikely. First the system is very weak riddled with corruption, tribalism etc and Sland stands on weak legs overall. A war can break out anytime like South Sudan.

Tue, May 9th, 2017 Somaliland: “Save the Country by Resigning”: MP Saeed Elmi Roble Urges President Silanyo Somaliland citizens are reeling from the negative effects of poor policies being implemented by the administration of president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo. According to Member of the House of Representatives MP Saeed Elmi Roble, the only remedy left open as an option towards saving the country and citizens is the immediate resignation of president Silanyo In justification of this demand the MP who is also member of the Opposition Wadan party said that the exit of president Silanyo will automatically relieve citizens of burdening inflation and subsequent poverty that has taken root since the current administration assumed office in mid 2010. “Not only will life improve for citizens, but elections will be held as well if president Silanyo resigns immediately” said MP Roble while adding that this move will facilitate ascension VP Sayli to office and subsequent changes. Stressing that a Sayli presidency can help revert current status quos of economic and political malady in Somaliland, the Legislator said that the Silanyo legacy is being destroyed by a few powerful officials surrounding him. Said he, “while almost all Public property in major cities have been sold, the disposal at huge Amounts is not discernible at empty central coffers” Having accrued large sums of monies not only from the public coffers the few powerful unelected individuals within the Somaliland presidency corridors is usually on foreign trips “to where they deposit their ill gained loot” emphasized MP Saeed Elmi Roble Reiterating his call for president Silanyo to leave office now rather than later, the MP said that this will not only avail the elderly president ample time to rest from public life but facilitate a resemblance of apt though dented legacy. The legislator who was a press briefing outside the parliament buildings on Hargeisa also reminisced on a recent visit to his constituency in Toghdeer region said, “What prompts me to urge immediate departure of president Silanyo is the abject poverty engulfing citizens and more so members of assorted security personnel in the country” “During my latest visit to Burao town I met a number of armed forces personnel who revealed to me that unless things changed quickly, forget ensuring security we shall be unable even to carry our guns due to hunger” Adding that the soldiers’ grievances are not for lack of pay, but insufficiency thence inability to provide regular basic family needs, the legislator said that a large number of civil servants have not been paid salaries since the beginning of the year. “How is it possible that some civil servants are not being paid their salaries which is included in the 2017 budget” queried the legislator adding that one would not fail to wonder about the whereabouts of the money allocated in a budget prospered by the ministry of finance and approved by the cabinet and parliament followed by the ongoing implementation upon signature by the president Stating that the difficulties being encumbered by his constituents are replicated nationwide the MP was equivocal that this shall translate into a heavy loss for ruling Kulmiye party during the presidential elections slated for this November. http://www.somalilandinformer.com/somaliland/somaliland-save-the-country-by-resigning-mp-saeed-elmi-roble-urges-president-silanyo/

Horta a lot of Landers are naive. Ethiopia is facing its own problems with separatism groups, no idea why they thought Ethiopia supports Somaliland getting recognized. It is just not realistic. Also as many mentioned before Ethiopia gets a lot of things from Somaliland for free already, why buy the cow when you can milk it for free?

A slap in the face for the Ethiopian boot lickers.

SOMALI PRESIDENT VISITS ETHIOPIA 05 May, 2017 Ethiopia clarifies intention towards Somaliland Somalia’s new president, Mohamed Abdullahi “Farmajo” Mohamed, paid a two-day visit to Ethiopia beginning May 3 upon the invitation of Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn. In discussions they later held, the two leaders agreed to closely work together towards elimination of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group from Somali soil within two years. During a joint press conference held at the National Palace, Hailemariam said that Ethiopia is ready to support Somalia to enable it take over the responsibility of securing the country from the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), AU’s regional peacekeeping force in Somalia. The premier also noted that his government always respected “the territorial integrity of the Somalia republic”. Replying to a question put to him from a Somali journalist, Hailemariam denied any intent by his government to bestow recognition on Somaliland. He further pointed out that, “Ethiopia has never had any official relations with Somaliland. We always do that with the consent of the federal government in Mogadishu.” On his part, President “Farmajo” noted that Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab has been around for the last ten years "causing havoc and destruction”. “It’s a threat not only to Somalia but to the whole region,” he said, and appreciated the support by Ethiopia, Kenya and other countries contributing troops to AMISOM. He also stated that in collaboration with Ethiopia, his government has already prepared a comprehensive strategy to fight and eliminate Al-Shabaab. Meanwhile, the Ethiopian prime minister assured the Somali president that, as chairperson of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), he would work to make the forthcoming London conference on Somalia a success. He also talked about the need for international efforts to address the humanitarian catastrophe in Somalia caused by severe drought. Meles Alem, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the visit would open a new chapter in the relationship between the two nations. The two leaders also agreed to implement previous agreements reached between the two countries and are looking for economic integration and the free movement of goods and people. In this regard, an agreement was reached to set up a joint ministerial commission that would work on finding areas of cooperation in the political and economic spheres. Meanwhile, the Somali president expressed interest in engaging the Ethiopian government with a view to amicably resolving boundary issues between the two neighboring countries in the Horn of Africa. http://www.thereporterethiopia.com/content/somali-president-visits-ethiopia

@galbeedi said: Saalax, I think this report was almost over two years ago. Somali leaders are always bad whether they are in Hargeisa or Mogadishu. I think the Awdal community want to live in peace among the Habro at this juncture of history. Wars among brothers will only produce disasters for everyone. Let the peace thrive. Nabad iyo Caano. Yes it is from that period of that time. It is interesting to note though this fact which might be a bitter pill to swallow for someone is highlighted. In other words it is a master -servant relationship between Ethiopia and the current Sland admin . "The Addis Ababa government, which is itself very quick off the mark when it wants Somaliland to hand back Ethiopian opponents, is refusing to do likewise"

I agree, but he is the PM only few months. Lets see what he does in the longterm. I gave Silanyo 2 years 2010- 2012, after that I saw he was failing the people that is when I started karbashing him.

Addis Ababa refuses to hand G*d*b*rsi over to Hargeisa N°1396 - 30/01/2015 The Addis Ababa government, which is itself very quick off the mark when it wants Somaliland to hand back Ethiopian opponents, is refusing to do likewise with the Gadabursi that Hargeisa is asking for. The Ethiopian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhane Gebre-Christos declined, on 16 January, to comply with the request from the Somaliland Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Bihi Yonis, to expel the G*d*b*rsi who have taken refuge in the Ogaden Regional State. Hargeisa suspects these Gadabursi of being linked to Abubakar Elmi Wabar (Jibril Yonis/G*d*b*rsi), the leader of a rebel movement in Awdal Province in Somaliland. Fears of destabilisation have already led President Ahmed Mohamed Mahamoud known as Silanyo to build up government troops in the region’s capital, Borama. However, despite this deployment of security forces, shots were fired at the city’s police station on 23 January, attributed to the Gadabursi rebels. The second largest clan in Somaliland, the Gadabursi are opposed to Somaliland’s independence which is wanted by the majority Issaq community, and instead want union with Mogadishu. In the last few weeks, some Somalian MPs have even urged the federal government to support Abubakar Elmi Wabar’s rebels. Trying to appease the revolt, Silanyo (Is**q) promised to promote the G*d*b*rsi in his administration. He is planning to increase the responsibilities of technology minister Ali Hamud Jibril (G*d*b*rsi), by appointing him finance minister (ION 1395). https://www.africaintelligence.com/ION/politics--power/2015/01/30/addis-ababa-refuses-to-hand-gadabursi-over-to-hargeisa,108059205-ART

Desalegn dots his i’s and crosses his t’s with Silanyo 11/11/2016 Addis Ababa is exceedingly irritated by Hargeisa’s economic and its political decisions. Ethiopia is very worried by current developments in Somaliland. Addis Ababa has already secured its access to a coastal outlet: it arranged for the State-owned Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise to be included in the contract to operate the port of Berbera (ION 1434). But the same does not go for Hargeisa and Berbera airports. According to our sources, the Somaliland and Kuwaiti governments are currently in talks for these airports to be run by a Kuwaiti company. If this contract were to be awarded to a private Kuwaiti company, it would add further strain on relations with President Ahmed Mohamed Mahamoud, aka Silanyo, as Ethiopian Airlines is the airline that makes the most use of these airports. However, it was the political differences that caused the Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn to summon Silanyo and his ministers for planning, Ali Ismail Jirde, foreign affairs, Saad Ali Shire, the presidency, Mohamoud Hashi Abdi, information, Abdullahi Mohamed Dahir, and his son-in-law, Bashe Awil Omar, to Addis Ababa. Desalegn had the meeting with the Somaliland president because the latter had had a meeting with peace envoys with the President of the self-proclaimed Khatumo State, the former Prime Minister of Somalia, Ali Khalif Galaydh. Moreover, the two parties should meet again in Addis Ababa to discuss a peace agreement on 17 November. But the Ethiopian prime minister did not appreciate that Silanyo had not opposed Ali Khalif Galaydh’s request for the presidential election to be postponed, so that he could also run. In addition, Desalegn warned Silanyo against taking in Oromo rebels into Somaliland. He asked him to immediately inform Ethiopian security services in the event of any new Oromo incursions into his territory. https://www.africaintelligence.com/ION/politics--power/2016/11/11/desalegn-dots-his-i-s-and-crosses-his-t-s-with-silanyo,108189341-ART

10/03/2017 Somaliland’s presidential affairs minister, Mohamoudi Hashi Abdi, did his best in Riyadh on Feb. 23-24 to meet with Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo. However, Farmajo refused any meeting with the envoy of outgoing Somaliland president Ahmed Mohamed Mahamoud, a k a Silanyo whose mission was to try to swing Farmajo in favor of building an Emirati military base in Berbera (ION 1445). The effort was doomed because Farmajo had come to Riyadh to seek Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud’s support in making it clear to the United Arab Emirates that he was opposed to the UAE setting up the base. Elsewhere, the Somaliland diaspora organized a demonstration against that initiative before the Emirati embassy in London on March 2. https://www.africaintelligence.com/ION/politics--power/2017/03/10/silanyo-s-emirati-military-base-a-non-starter,108225480-ART

Saalax's big madfacs and the final nail in the coffin for the delusional folks aka reer khiyaali ku nool. UAE military base: Hargeisa keeps trying to persuade neighbors President of the ruling Kulmiye party, Musa Bihi Abdi, has been unsparing in his efforts to win the approval of Somaliland’s neighbors for the construction of a United Arab Emirates military base at Berbera. On Feb. 10 he first attempted to reassure Ethiopia’s prime minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, by saying the base would be leased exclusively to the Emiratis and that they wouldn’t be allowed to sub-lease all or part of it to Egyptians (ION 1445). In mid-March, the Ethiopians, who are essentially Somaliland's development partner, finally gave their green light to construction of the base but on one condition: that the UAE agrees to close its base at Assab in Eritrea (ION 1432). On March 13, Abdi flew to Nairobi where he met with Western envoys but also with Somali's president, Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajor to ask for his blessings for the Emirati base in Berbera. A few days later, Somaliland’s former foreign affairs minister, Mohamed Abdillahi Omar, turned up in Mogadishu to prepare for negotiations with Hargeisa. Elsewhere, the Somaliland government claims to have signed an agreement with the UAE on March 19 but our sources say that might have been premature as no Emirati government official signed the document.
