You do realize if Oromo came into power in Ethiopia, that would mean the end of Somalis, right? Somalia's biggest threat is Oromo domination. The Amhara and Tigre don't border Somalis, yet their aggression has shown over the centuries. What do you think will happen when a larger ethnic group that borders Somalis becomes politically and militarily dominant? Go figure!

    it

Oromos will never dominate and never have, it was always either the Somalis or the Habashis. Oromos lack ambition. Just because they'll be the dominant force in Ethiopia doesn't mean they'll automatically become a threat, or else the Bantu nation of Kenya would've also been a threat.

Why don't you man up instead of expecting the Oromos to do your bidding? Given up on ONLF already?
    :D

Somalis did their part, ONLF is a bigger threat to Ethiopia then about 40 million Oromos, Somalis are 5 million and Ethiopia has 90 milllion with biggest ethnic group being the Oromos.

  3. 1. Ethiopian Muslims themselves are oppressed by the largely Christian Tigray government.

    2. Hatred between Somalis and their neighbors was never against 'Ethiopians' but against The orthodox Habashis. Not the Hararis/Anfars/Oromos etc.

    3. You should know they are our rivals and that they will always work to keep Somalia down, that's a fact. Ethiopia is working to become a power house and they have to make sure that Somalia is never too weak or too strong, they want us to keep like Somaliland/Puntland and be satisfied with it.

    4. This would not be the case if the peasant Oromos manned up, and did what needed to be done and revolt.

^^ Shaqa hadeysan jirin, ama aysan dowlada abuuri karin soo iney dadka wax u qorto bil kasta ama siiso ma ahan like raashin or xoogoow lacag ay wixii daruuri ah ku iibsadaan, that would be a dream for an African state, but given that what they receive from those military bases and the ports, then it is reasonable iney dadka danyarta ah u gargaaraan.

Good ideas for visionaries akhi, Africans see gov as a mean to collect more wealth/power for themselves and not the people. I believe that if a man truly tried to push this agenda forward that he would be arrested.

  5. This thread was referring to the 2006 invasion of Somalia just when things were looking up. Not the 1990 overthrowing of the government.

OK, not Libya then, Syria....you don't see the Syrians calling for making their own countries (except Kurds but they are a diff ethnicity). Plus Hargeisa was just a small tuulo, throwing some grenades would've wiped them out.

And by that logic what do the people of Berbera, Burco, Borama etc have to say? What's their excuse?

Is there deterioration in Somali language in Djibouti in terms of its quality and use among the newer generations? Is nomadic life in Djibouti still prevalent and to what degree has it been urbanized? Do the 'Somali' Djiboutians engage in clubbing and drinking? How prevalent are dugsis/madrasaas in the city and are they urban in infrastructure ? Do djiboutians claim this 'collective' history and identity of 'africanism', or do they view themselves as exclusive?

Every Djibouti youtube video I only see Faaraxs writing in French, I think the educated ones pride themselves in French to distinguish themselves from the poorer people.

  7. "Ethiopian president Meles Zenawi and Eritrean president Isayas Afewerki also had allegedly contacts to the NSS. IRIN news wrote, citing an unnamed former official of Somalia, that: "Meles knew Somalia very well, as he lived in Mogadishu when he was a liberation leader in the 1980s. Meles and Eritrean leader Isayas Afewerki “lived together in a villa behind Tawfiq Hotel, north Mogadishu, and were handled by the National Security Service, provided with travel documents and Somali passports, trained and given a Tigrayan radio frequency”, a former senior Somali government official told IRIN".[9]"
