Ten French NATO troops have been killed in fierce fighting following a Taliban insurgent ambush near the Afghan capital Kabul, sources say. The soldiers were killed during two days of fighting in Sarobi district, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) east of the capital Kabul, AFP reported. "It was a Taliban ambush," said a French Presidency source, adding that the clashes began Monday and continued into Tuesday. France has 3,000 troops under NATO command in Afghanistan. They are stationed in Kabul, Sarobi, and Kapisa provinces.
