  1. 2real, nice topic, but technology was not invented by Men, and Men only control the world because Women let them. I do think you're right, it would be a better place if Women ruled...but then again, it depends on who you are. There are Good Men and Evil Women-even though that's hard to believe...

  2. I am a Freak of Nature

I thrive on pain, not adventure

Cast one look at me, and you might run away

Speak once to me, you'll cry...well, you just may

I suck light from the sky, turn the day into night

And I write scary poetry, that'll have you screaming, all right...

  3. oppionated: nicely said, sis...

Male Somalis often think or even say that a hijab wearing sister is much better than the "un-covered" sister. Well, let ask you something: how is it that a hijab wearing sister is not paid any "special" attention by our male counter persona's? But the girl with the jeans has guys leaning out of cars going "walaaloo! Nice a$$"?

At the end of the day, admit it, guilty guys: its all about the territory and invasion of male-dominated space. These guilty guys want to MARRY a hijab girl, but are content dating supposed "wild" ones. And unless you have been favoured by Allah and granted psychic powers, I dont think anyone of us know whether a jeans-wearing girl is sinful or not.

Sweet-Muna, sis: At the end of the day, its YOUR thoughts you're left with. Dont change for or on account of anyone else, especially not Somalis (though I love my kin) they judge WAY too much. You know yourself and as rightly mentioned before, if you've got a pure heart with no bad intentions whatsoever, then I'm sure you've got nothing worry about, sis.

Must dash, Prada is having the Summer Sale and I just have to have those much-acclaimed jeans... ;)

  7. Wow, Mr.M, if those are all your thoughts put together, then you've finally succeeded in doing what most men have failed to do for thousands of years.

But it seems that your topic of good-will has turned into Virtual WWF... ;)

    Peace, y'all...

  8. LazieGirl, thank you for the compliment...much appreciated...

    But there is one thing...

AND I KNOW SOME OF Y'ALL ARE THINKING, "PREGNANCY PILLS??" YES, IF A FEMALE DECIDES TO HAVE SEX AND SHE IS INFACT MUSLIM, SHE MIGHT AS WELL GET ON THE PILL SO HER CHANCES OF GETTING PREGNANT CAN BE REDUCED EVEN THOUGH PREGNANCY PILLS ARE SINFUL

Pregnancy Pills are NOT Sinful. In the Quran it clearly states that there must be a minumum of TWO years between the ages of your children. Consequently, you have a choice:(A) either the husband/wife leaves and reappears after two years, (B) you dont touch eachother for two years © use the pill

Its up to you, and I guess there are individual differences...but I know which one I would choose. ;)

There is a lot of miss-information and general ignorance concerning the Quran. But the information is there; just pick up the Book and read...

  9. -M-

    You are emotional and intense. When involved in a relationship, you throw your entire being into it. Nothing stops you; there are no holds barred. You are all consuming and crave someone who is equally passionate and intense. You are willing to try anything and everything. Your supply of sexual energy is inexhaustible. You are very social and sensual;

you enjoy flirting and also enjoy mothering your mate.

:D:D ...that SO sounds like me... :D:D

  12. wow, wow, wow, Complex Mind...very nice...Loved this bit...

My heart starts to sign its song. So far yet so close. I close my eyes and imagine. So far yet so close. I smile and breathe in the ocean air. So far yet so close. I can hear the chorus before I even let it pass my mouth. So far yet so close. There's a deep sound then, not a part of my song but every bit as beautiful. So far yet so close. The sound. The voice. So deep. Enchanting. Mezmerizing. I raise my voice now, singing with all I've got. So far yet so close. The voice now seems to be competing with me. So far yet so close. Alluring. So far yet so close.

Amazingly done...keep up tha written word...

    ~harmonyangel~

  13. Complex-Mind, yes you're right, it is Italian...and you've just asked this question just as I've addded a bit to it  ...but the first bit you asked about says...

    ~L'amore perso è amore guadagnato

~Ma l'amore perso, è un cuore fatto soffrire

stands for Love lost is Love gained

but Love lost is a heart pained

but now the whole thing says..

    ~L'amore perso è amore guadagnato

~Ma l'amore perso, è un cuore fatto soffrir

~Gli anni semplici delle rotture di sospetto

~Di fiducia il relativo duro riguadagnare, che cosa è stato perso una volta ...which says...

    Love lost is Love gained

But love lost is a heart pained

Simple suspicion breaks years of trust

Its hard to regain, what once was lost

...the poet inside me keep breaking out... :D

slip into victoria secrets, counting the vowels

heart stopping coz i hear tha knock

thats gonna knock ma pink socks off

The red dirac that I slip into for me to wear

With excruiting slowness slip on the gold

Clothes that I put on, but will soon tear

Pleasure experienced, instincts awakened as of old

Sweet juices bursting with uncertain power,

see the erection of joy able to reach the height of a tower,

Trembling wonder rises in two eyes

as pain is quickly replaced by pleasure

Tender feelings replace the sweet surprise

And the feelings rise in a crescendo you cant measure

    Moaning, groaning, voices intoning

The wonder, the elemental rush of feeling

Slipping, sliding to the top of the slope

    Supported by two strong arms

    Tears kissed away, whispered charms

And the storm passed, silence descends

    Quiet murmurings, sweet whisperings

As you fall asleep, you smile a smilef illed with light

Secretly, you look forward to the next night

  15. Personally, I do get on very well with non-somalis or non-muslims. In fact, most of my friends are black/asian and only a few Somalis.

I dont think you should judge a book by its cover, nor a person by his/her ethnicity. Friendship is something that hasn't got colour/race/religion or whatnot. Of course its nice to have someone from your "neck of the woods" but sometimes you dont have a choice.

Just make sure that at the end of the day, you dont have identity issues and that you know where you're from...

    Hope that helped!

  16. Salty tears taste sweet

    When kissed away by another

Soft cries and wet moans pierce the night air

Hands become motions, kisses come together

Lips and tongues meet with a clash

Someone sighs, velvety sounds in the darkness

Pulse rising, heart beating faster than a lightning flash

Breath comes faster, the sound mildly loud in the darkness

The muted sounds of delicate fabric ripping in passionate haste

A gently deep laugh followed by a mellow high one

The sweetest kiss brings forth the sweetest taste

A night that started hours ago yet will endure for hours more

Lightning traces the path of silky fingertips

Tremors bring forth gentle shudders and rising gasps

Tender contact with tongues bring moans from two lips

Moans that are kissed away by two more

Eyes close in sweet agony as pleasure builds on pain

Satisfaction carves a path down a pliant body

Soft cries rise to the stars “Again, again!”

The faint sounds of clothes hitting the floor signal No Way Back

Trembling takes over limbs, a passion reaches the sky

Giggles reach the moon’s ears, sounds increasing with ardour

Soft strokes ignite fire, no one asks why

Sounds and motions increase with a deep fervour

Gasps become moans, moans become cries that become screams

Screams that penetrate the quiet of the night air

This emotional and physical spectacle will last the night, it seems

    Unrestrained, unbridled, uninhibited ecstasy

The passion that climbs the sexual mountain reaches the top

A soft scream, a hard grunt and you fall over...

Right onto your floor...and with a start you see

That it was nothing but Lustful Dreams...things that cannot be

Cannot be, at least not until your wedding night....

A beginning that will make this sacred ritual right

  17. Hhm, interesting topic.

Reading through the past posts, I can see there seems to be a large amount of double standards going on. It seems most of our Somali brothers want to marry a virgin , yet these same guys are running around “deflowering” many other girls when they’re still in their “having fun” times. When these brothers are dating a girl who they do not want to marry, they expect her to sleep with them, and when she refuses, often the girl is called “frigid” or a “tease”, and is promptly got rid off. This practice often has an unsettling effect on the young lady in question, often hurting them to no end because they got attached. Comments such as “Somali girls do not comply to our needs” are often flung about, especially when these guilty Somali brothers find their “solace” in White, Black etc girls.

In this case, Peer Pressure is not an option, because Somali girls do not feel the pressure from their Peers, but from their boyfriends, who often have their own set of demands for the girlfriend to meet.

Yet when these same brothers are looking for marriage material, all of a sudden the girl has to be decent and most of all a virgin .

Also, the practice of hiding behind the diin seems to occur quite often. When issues such as this come up, some of our Somali brothers delight in mentioning that Muslim Law states girls to stay virgins until marriage. My question to these guilty brothers is then; if you know the Quran so well, why do you insist on “deflowering” girls when just looking for some “fun”? The Quran states quite clearly that both parties should be virgins when stepping into marriage. The Islam way of living is not a part-time phenomenon: You either live it 24/7 or stray down the Devil’s path. Multiple choices are not available here, I am afraid.

Staying a virgin has many benefits for every one. You only have to look at the statistics of sexually transmitted diseases within the Somali community and the figures are appalling. Now whether this down to pure ignorance or being uneducated I dont know, but young Men AND Women seem to be loosing the path Allah carved out for us, which is a great shame, really.

So my final comment to those guilty brothers (and you know who you are! There is nowhere to hide) is: Don’t be the pot that calls the kettle black and look a little closer to home before giving unneeded advice…

Of course, I am not generalising and these are only my opinions…

  18. STHLM_Lady, though I am by no means an expert on the Islam way of life, I dont think its xaram for two girls to shower togther...AS LONG as there is nothing sexual to it.

    Gurl, hope that helped!!

  19. I hold the sun in my hand

Its so bright it hurts my eyes

As I tell you this, you look as if you dont understand

Its very simple, actually, dont look surprised

The sun slowly slips from my fingers

I look up, it’s getting dark

Only a drop remains, it lingers

The stars are out, the light pierces my heart; so stark

My hands are stained yellow, I wonder why

I try to walk, but my feet are frozen in a yellow pool

I wipe tears from my cheek and a stain appears, this is no lie

And suddenly I realise, and I feel like a fool

I took the sun, it was no dream

When I walked in the grass and reached up so far

I did not wake from it with a scream

Now what am I to do, the only light comes from a star

I seem to have shrouded the world in eternal night

Oh well, I shrug, there could be a worse plight...

  20. ...nice topic...somthing lite for once!! smile.gif

Well, my name comes from two things...HARMONY comes from the fact that back in tha days when I was at school I used to keep tha peace a lot...so hence harmony ...then ANGEL just stuck one day after my friend told me I sing like an angel ...stick tha two together and you got harmonyangel!! Its been with me for some years now... smile.gifsmile.gif

  21. I read this earlier and I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I wrote a lil prayer/poem...may he rest in peace...inshallah

    ***

Oh Allah, take care of our brother who's passed away

Open the gates of Jannah and make it a glorious day

Lift him up and take him from this strife

Made by Your hand, he's lived a blessed life

Pain of losing a Nomad burns, but still

Allah has His own plans, and this is His will

Wish we could write a letter and let our brother know

But where he is, the postman dont go

So Allah, take care of our brother who's passed away

Let him know, for him we pray

    ***

Again, my deepest condolences to everyone who knew him, and just know he's with Ilahay

    ~harmonyangel~

  22. Inaa lilaahi wainaa ileyhii raajicuun

OMG, I am so so sorry for your (and ultimately our) loss. Walahii, I hope Ilahay grants him jannah and I hope he is with ilahay as I'm typing this.

I never did have the pleasure of meeting him, but tonight I'll include him in my prayers...inshallah ilahay ha unaaxariisto

I hope the gates of jannah open for him..Amiin..

i'd fiddle w/ death like Evil knevil

Evil aint nothing but good turned round

With that news, jump, spin, touch the ground

Dont you worry, and dont you cry
