^^ Hada waa markaan is qabtay oo is idhi "little" ka daa yaan khalad loo fahmin. Waayahay, little ku daa.

I think the Wolf ate his sheep. No idea how he managed to feed himself after that or if life got so hard for him that he chose to "tahriib", etc, etc,.. Abtigiis;871299 wrote: So, you are basically saying I, Abtigiis, may have promoted the man beyond his competencies and appropriate station in life, and in so doing burdened this mediocre individual with expectations much too serious for one so simple; indeed one so ripe . It is a charge I accept if Maaddeey confirms your views of him. Inta kale igu qor, "mediocre" and "simple" anigu maan dalban.

^^ That's what I did dee. Juxa, this question of yours just made me realise that you have never engaged in a "xan" session about me. Or, maybe we're thinking of two different people. Because a "gem" would send me cake.
-
^^ That's what you claim. I am yet to taste that cake of yours. In fact, I even sent an SOS to your former flatmate asking for some cake earlier in the week, I got a message back telling me to visit the premises if I wanted any. (must be a broken table that needs fixing or something ).

^^ It's all a matter of preception. I've always had him down as an everyday guy with excess xamaasad and a sprinkling of knowledge. You on the other hand, fell for the wadaad cloak and chose to elevate him to a place higher than his (online) ability or interactions tell (not a great shock when one looks at those that Somalis usually regard as wadaado anyway). p.s. For the avoidance of doubt; I am not criticising Maaddeey here (well, apart from the Xamasaad part, which he knows about it anyway).

^^ With her entire family? How much cake do you think you're capable of physically making?
-
^^ A genuine jihadi's normal look is (usually) with a gun in a dusty place, not a computer and pointless discussions. Why is it ok for you to support the ONLF when you don't lift a finger to actually fight for the cause but Maaddeey can't support Al Shabab without lifting a finger of his own in return? Naga daa dee. Apophis, I don't like trick questions warya!

^^ It's the boy that cried wolf, saaxib. Only in A&T's case it's sometimes lions, tigers, aliens or CIA agents.

^^ Fish fooqal fish. It's at times like these that I wish nuune was here. He would have reminded us of a million similar issues and gave us his jinni background too.

Err..eeen..erm..naga daa dee.

^^ I meant, when the story broke, was she in an Islamic country? Wax fahan.

Alone is much better. You can duck and dive without a family memeber dropping you in it. Plus, if Juxa's lot are arguing about dates, tickets and other stuff, what will they do to her when ten thousand long lost uncles and aunties all come to "pay their respects"? Juxa will politely tell them one thing while other members of her family will tell them another (you would say anything to get away from a tight spot). If you go alone, you can always find a way to deal with the "Sabri's" of this world.
-
Err..could it be that she was visiting an Islamic country when these photos were taken?

Norf, sida Somalida baad noqotay saaxib. Like I told you, I got the idea from my grandmother who got it from Somalis before her, who got it from the Arabs. When it's about the faith, it sooner or later goes back to the Arabs anyway (except if you're a fish living in the steel city). It's OCD stuff, saaxib. The traditions say one thing and the sunna & faith says another. Kabta rog warya.

^^ Xaaji X is an intelligent man, saaxib. He's an expert in his field and if I were the kind that obsesses about trivial Somali details, I would be proud to count him as one of my gurus. p.s. Maaddeey, I don't recall learning any new words in the last couple of days.
-
^^ Dee I told you, it must have been a wadaad with severe OCD. It had to be. Norf, look: even Malika heard of this all the way in darkest Tanzania! Fish fooqal fish waaxid.

Arsenal always had a good defence. Their problem is that their defenders are never fit for a full season.

^^ The "voice of reason" has to shout, not whisper badow yahay. Wa calaykom al salaam.

^^ Looks like you forgot to drink your morning coffee today, Maaddeey. If A&T made you a CIA agent, it makes sense that he would make Apophis (oo ninka aan ka jawaabay aha) a devout Muslim. Wax fahan. p.s. Which new word?

Apophis;871102 wrote: Who's "we"? He might have explained it by conjuring my name, Norf's and Nassir's as part of the "we" but it's actually an eternal Somali affliction that he suffers from here. Xiin does it a lot too. We (that's you and I) are the only ones who keep picking him up on it. p.s. Maddeey is no different to either me or A&T. He's a Shababi in principle just as I'm a Somalilander or A&T is an ONLF supporter. p.p.s A&T's logic would make you a devout Muslim warya. Welcome back to the fold.

N.O.R.F;870945 wrote: ^and because you're a casiir madow I would wager you heard it through Arab culture before you heard it through Somali culture. Get one over on me? Never! Don't wager warya. My late ayeeyo was not Arab.

^^ Ax! All this time some of us were turning a blind eye to his mention of those houses.

Abu-Salman;870956 wrote: Quite frankly, we have much better (unspoilt) beaches, islands etc in Jabuuti etc and the food can not yet fully rival Dubai diversity but it's even fresher (Yemeni, Ethio or international). I always thought one can only be homesick vis-a-vis his family or childhood place and era as I do (J., then H. town and its area). PS JB the family was generous back then but dadku change, and "xasiid" in general barely connect (I'm envious at how the reer Galkaayo or even Burco stick together)... He lived there for seven years and got used to the easy going style of the place (though he complained back then). Now he's in London (and soon to get used to his old life again) he'll start complaining about London. It's a fish thing. Jb, Alpha possibly didn't understand the girl's accent and decided to label her as gurbajoog. Ninkano waa nin waalan. Waa kii bari lagu yedhi "the quran is the most valuable thing in the world" markaaso masaajid dhacay.
