It's too hot for sleeping tonight. Tomorrow is Friday. Nothing happens at work on Friday (yeah, yeah, yeah). I may write something then. I want to sleep in the backyard tonight but there is a darn fox living in my backyard. Plus, ever since I found out the UK has snakes, I never walk on grass at night. I wish we had a roof.

^^ Kula ma yaabayo, reer Harar/Harer/Hirar/Horuur bad eska tahay. You're not used to civilised conversations and polite requests that are accompanied with smiles.

Heh. Fancy being the role model for the Somali Minster of Commerce!
-
^^ I only used the word ONCE. ps The operative word on my last post was 'claim'. Now edit your reply.
-
^^ Be specific, woman. Tell the man who claims to be from there?
-
^^ Last I knew, Malika was not from Harar Stop the 'us, we and them' when you talk about her or someone might be tempted to announce your wedding on that rumour central thread.

^^ Bila saaxiib bad tahay, ninyaho. Malika winked at you and you sold me down the river, just like that? Go away man, ha nala saaxibin. -
^^ A&T only ever saw one of those on TV, saaxib. Don't for a minute believe he's been anywhere near 'the wild'.
-
^^ How many cities do you come from, saaxib? Heh. As for Arabic, you just reminded me of a girl that once asked me to teach her the language. Quick as a flash, I asked her to repeat after me 'zawjtoka nafsi'. She duly did but when I tried to hold her hand and lead her away...

Ibti, That's because you were a serial qaxooti. Stoic, this is a much better photo. Lucky animal, huh?

^^ But, if you read my words you would have seen that I did not think much of the man's vision. Everyone has a vision (heck you and I have one). It's how you go about making it reality that matters. You support the man because (and I use your own words), of his 'moral and value based approach'! I don't think he has been consistant or that his approach so far has been moral, never mind value based. Still, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt by calling him clueless. Anyway, naga daa Shariifka sheekadiisa or Beetle Juice may appear and take us on that fantastic ride once more. ps It is not lonely here at all. I've got fun people on my side and I expect you to join any day soon. There is a vacant space right next to me. -
** Pushes glasses back ** Actually, I am told that I look Ethiopian (Amharic to be exact). All the Ethiopians that stop me in the street always ask me if I am one and get disappointed when they find out that I am not. At one point in the past I was even considering learning the darn language so I can take advantage of all the easy opportunities I got with all those Ethiopian lovelies. Alas, I could never find a suitable teacher. Yalam, yalam...

I see your point, skipper. To other people, we are like the Chinese. Most Somalis look alike.

^^ meet-ful-wo-arbac-taashar, ya bashmohandis. Lily, I am not debating anything. You guys brought Arabic into it and I was merely sprinkling some trivial info your way. (Xarbi is the one that's debating the meaning).
-
Lily, You may have a point there. The guy that killed the prophet's uncle (waxshi ibno xarb) was black. Maybe he was Somali. But then again, even Abu Sufyan's father was called Xarb. So maybe not. Xarb in Arabic means WAR. Xarbi would mean a man of war.

Will you remember to change things in January? Do you have to choose tactics and change the team on a weekly basis? BORING.

Buenos dias mis companeros, it's another glorious day out there!

^^ Me Don Juan? Alla yecisak, my dear. I'm not even a Don Juan in my own house (ever since that wretched son of mine was born).

^^ I'm sure we'll meet again though. Waxad nago noqotay sida filinka Beetle Juice. One only has to say the Sheikh's name three times and out you'll pop. ps Who is Gaaldile? He smells familiar. -

The only assertion I made was assertion ONE. In the other two I clearly asked you to explain comments you made. If that counts as an assertion in your book then you are wrong. I know nothing about his fighting force and, since you volunteered that info I asked YOU to tell me about it. Now stop dancing around me and tell me. As for assertion one, I am sticking by my point. I gave you a very good explanation why I think so (twice) and you did not deal with it at all. When you are ready to tackle that one I shall happily continue this. -
Ibti almost got her wish and I was about to write a story ont his but it's almost five and I am NOT doing overtime again.
