But the point stands, the world is a bleak and terrifying place and the individual life is an insignificant blip in the endless expanse of time. I'm not sure what religion has to do with this except that some (many?) people use it as a way of finding meaning in that reality, and there's nothing wrong with that. The video is useful because it gives a rude awakening for those who believe "real life" is more than the banality of the everyday, and to help see the world in a different way through the recognition of and compassion for the other.
