    I wouldn't be happy either if every move I made was plastered all over tv and magazines.

     

    hm, I wonder if the media (and the people always itching to get the latest dirt on the girl) will feel guilty if she commits suicide??

    African Americans used to do that too back in the day, I just saw this on msn today.

     

    I'm definitely not trying to undermine the woman's awesome achievements =) but this article is taking it to extremes.

    maybe that is true..though I suspect it isn't.

    now this sounds a little too exaggerated, IMO.

    I didn't learn to ride until I was about 12 and shortly after my mom got me a used bike that I LOVED. it was a rusty old thing, plus it way too big and it had no brakes but I rode it nonstop until it was stolen =( 12 years later I buy another bike (red just like my first one) and that one was stolen right out of my garage :mad:

     

    the last bike I had was a baby blue cruiser with a basket in the front =) it might sound goofy but it was a really cool bike! I bought it Aug/06 and sold it just over 6 months ago before leaving TW. I'm happy it wasn't stolen, that might've put me off biking forever.

    You don't know the full details of the case and you are alreadly passing judgement! due process, due process. It could be a case of self defense considering the level of violence/attacks against shop owners!

    Kelly, whose 1,600-meter time of 5 minutes 17.49 seconds and 3,200-meter time of 12:00.81 are the fastest of any D.C. girl, was hoping to run fast enough at the Montgomery Invitational to qualify for the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York on February 8-9.

     

    Bowden said the team has no other meets scheduled that would allow her to qualify for the event, which attracts dozens of college recruiters

    she sounds really good! hopefully with this publicity she'll attract some big name american colleges :D

    I lived in Johannesburg for a short while and I couldn't believe how wide-spread the xenophopia was. it was weird. I know I'm generalizing but from what I saw, it seemed like the black south africans were the most racist bunch (or maybe it was just that they didn't hide it). they hated the whites, the indians and even black people from other countires (zimbabwe and nigeria topping the list! and somalia was definitely near the top:p)

     

    I worked with a Zulu woman (who admitted to me that she can't stand Indian people once :rolleyes: ) and she said the main reason somalis are hated is because they open shops and they slaughter the local competition by underpricing goods and working longer hours. so maybe east africans are hated b/c they're better business ppl?

    someone once told me that canada basically wants the immigrants' children :/ and all the educated and highly trained immigrants here probably will never have thier credentials recognized and will have to resort to menial jobs (not that there's anything wrong with those jobs. a job's a job right?) our parents are making a huge sacrifice for us, I wish a lot of the younger kids acting up these days would get thier heads out of thier asses and recognize this.

    looool this thing is crazy, I scared the heck out of my cousin! love it =) it took me a good 10 mins to figure it out though. I'm going got freak my mom out next, she scares easy!
