    somalis now days mix with non somalis quiet fequently, some of them speak better somali then us.

     

    others have other connections with somalis, i guess we are very attractive community; :rolleyes:

     

    but i no wat u mean; as a person who can't read somali, i get lost when i read a post and someone speaks both, i tent to give up.

     

    but i gusse if the can handly all dis somalis den we can handle couple of non somalis

    As the new kid on the block, i have no idea what you are talking about sahal;

     

    What I would like to say to you is that, as you are attacking salafi da’wa on the baises that he is attacking ulmas, other than the fact that you are directly attack him and therefore not backbiting, you are no different.

     

    I would also like to say that it seems to me (i might be misunderstood) that you are also attacking a whole sector of Islam (i.e. salafi's) who strangely enough the uluam's ur defending follow (i.e. abdual waduu and Qadawie)

     

    Its important to understand that in attack salafi's u are in actually fact attack a lot of people who may be better then you in the eyes of allah (which is also true for anyone directly attack hamaza yusfue or anyone else) and as a Muslim you should always stop your self from doing that.

     

    Salafi is not a new concept the Prophet peace be upon him said to his daughter fadumo, that he is her “salaf†(sahial bukaria) so its not a new word and but a concept.

    Salafiya just emphasis the important in following our beloved predecessor, if you go to www.salafipublications.com, you can get first hand information.

     

    Its important that we all respect each others believes, especially as muslims (even though each person thinks that they are following the one sector that will go to heaven)

     

    This was a simple question, if I had known that it will take this turn i would not have asked; do people in SOL tent to take things over board, or is this a no go zone?

     

    Anyhow this is not an attack on Hamaz yusuf or anyone else.

     

    I hope that I personally have led people to sin and i hope i have not attacked anyone in any of my replies (if I did plz forgive me)

    thanks for the useful feeback ppl.

     

    can we plz bare in mind (and this is to everyone not anyone in particluar) that its for allah to judge him and no one else, only he and allah know his true intention. personally i known so of his work which are really good like "remebering the days of allah" which is the most moving vidoes i no that are around and his book (1st edition) purification of the heart" is really good.

     

    from what i have understood from what people have said is that he may or may nor be a sufi, but that does not matter as he has been on extrim or acting upon something that the sunnag and Quran have no evidence for.

     

    as sister Rahima said; if you have knowlede that allows you to see whats correct and from the sunnah and Quran then by all means use his work. however if you are not well read in islam then better u stick to someone who is from the salafi.

     

    either way we should all watch who we take our knoweldeg from and always take from those that are on the correct path and following the sunnah and the Quran

    it took me forever to find dis massage again. i'm still trying to figure out how this thing worked. i swear i posted on the main, and then it somehow ended up here. and what i'm doing wrong every message i post someone gets mad at me. do you guys have a no go areas, like not talking about ideal men!! so guy abused me coz i said somalis men are not the ideal men!! bit confused i am!!

    NB:

    there was no suffism at the time of the prophet (BPUH) it developed after the salif salhins (so about three generations after his death) its a sector of muslims who are focus on spritual islam, they are well known for maulidual nabiwayi which was very common amogest somalias, in one of the months they kill animals and sing and dance and make space for the prophet to sit. this is from what little i have read on them. however those were the orginal suufi's. the new generation; some of them cliam that its what is in ur heart that u are judged upon not on ur actions, so as long as u love allah u will be saved. there are many different sub divisions.

    as for a book, i have to look for it in my house which can take ages the way its looking. i'll do after june the 11th when i start summer. lol inshallah

     

     

    Also at the time of the prophet they did have music, instruments, but he only allowed the daf, which is a one sided drum for parties and weddings not all the time

     

    and music is agreed upon that is xaaram;

    suhar Luqman, verse6

    read bin khaither tasfir for the extended meaning

    sounds like a fairly good idea, but depends on how many doctors (real ones we have in here), everyone can give opinions i guess, but it may be unsafe.....lol :D:D

    the problem is not what islam allows, but with somalis, its what they culture allows.

     

    first of all, they want whats good for u in their eyes, not urs.

    and they think they no better (which is possible)

    and they wnat someone they sit down and say bariba waax laayidi (it should say, "it was once said") and have a cuppa with, which u can't blame them for. and also they wanna no what they fathers and grandfarthers did from other sources (i.e. the somalia gossip network)

     

    and when something goes wrong they wanna take the oodayal (older men) to sort it out, and xaal (compensation)

    the baisc traditional values that another race will not have..

    NB: other cultures have traditions and values which if you go into as a women u may not like.... (i.e. women and the role they play in family) a somalian women would hate it.

    so maybe better if we stick to our farah's......... at least we know their weakness (everything)

    What I want to know if possible with stated evidence is whether the American "Scholar" Hamza yussuf is someone who's contributions to Islam can be used for personal use or for academic purposes to teach people. Is he someone that as Salafi Sunni Muslims we should take our knowledge from.

    No offence love, but really u should be happy for ur dad and for somaliland. it is a happy day for Us and we have done well. nothing wrong with green and Orange-- in fact they are in fashion for the summer in the UK.
