  1. Winger Manu won the PL by one point as they overtaken Arsenal with them losing to Leeds. Arsenal only needed a point to win the PL,but no there only loss after a brilliant 16 game unbeaten streak had to come in the last game of the season. Don't you think that elements of luck were building there? Fair game they were an excellent team, but the thing is Arsenal would have won the double that season,if for not Manu's extra hand of help. It's that there were nothing seperating these two sides,so such eelemnts beyond our controls had to come in to factor to seperate the two. This season Arsenal needed some of that luck to extend their unbeaten streak, all am saying Manu used up all the luck that season,as it helped them acheive wonders. But no doubt they were quite the team. Northerner the only humble pie being eaten is the by the formerly proud scousers, who sit around anfield and wonder what has happen. Your one man team analogy was thrown out of the window again as vanquish mentioned. Since Arsenal created their chances in the first half without Henry, and when he came on he did nothing basically was unoticed. Now Reyes was a different case, and that kid was magic until Scholes decided to put an end to that. Manu play rugby football now,and that was their tactic on Saturday. Anyways thinks ain't looking too good for Tuesday, hopefully Henry decides to show up for this one. But an omen says that Arsenal's blip of the season should begin now,in the most important stage of the season.
  2. Wenger has really wanked the last two games against Manu. I mean he never was astute in his substitutions. So given that in the PL game last week,he subs off reyes for the cack Gilberto, and Ljunberg for Cygan who sat in midfield. What da hell was dat all about? And then yesterday he decides to rest his start striker, which can be accepted at some point, but then atleast put in Reyes. No he had to excersise his French favouritism and let an Alidiare who just got back from injury and never was really convincing to play in a high pressure game as such. Now look what happens,we lose two valuable players and will probably have to cope with useless Wiltord(who is french ofcourse). Wenger is one stubborn and cocky manager, and that attitude is what throws us into a cauldron usually.
  3. state your case for United luck in the treble season bruv.. well let me see here: Arsenal leads the league almost the entire season, only to lose to a hapless Leeds United on the last day of the competition, giving Manyoo the PL title by one point. Arsenal outplay Manyoo in the F.A. Cup semifnal, where Bergkamp misses a penalty shot. And manyoo is playing with 10 men now, when Ryan Giggs does a Ronaldo and cuts through the entire Arsenal team,to score the best goal in F.A Cup history and in the english game. The German Machine Bayern Munich outplayed Manyoo for the entire CL final, with robust defending and counterattacking. Only for Sheringham and Soljkaer to score in the last two mins of extra time, with the lightest of goals you will ever see. Giving Manyoo an undeserved victory in the CL final. Now if you don't see a pattern of luck in all those games, then you are deluding yourself to the fact that not even the great teams of Cruyff's Ajax, Van Basten's AC Milan and all Real Madrid teams, were capable of pulling out that feat. Now can you really say to me that Manyoo 1999 was the best team in the history of Club Football? Vanquish credit should be given to Ferguson for atleast instilling some steel into his average/mediocre players. I mean just look at most of the players in Manyoo's team when they play for their countries, they are hardly worth a mention. But yet they come together very well when in Manyoo. I think the French players need to learn that sort of toughness.
  4. sad day ,not really! Shujui gets more happiness in an Arsenal loss, than his own teams win Roma. A typical hater. Manu played like an english team today, crunching tackles left and right ,and defending the entire second half. But fair game to them, i felt it wasn't our day when we missed all those chances in the first 10 minutes of the game. Sometimes i think Arsenal is a little too French, and need some of that english grit and fire for these sort of games. Wenger was too cocky, and started shit strikers,so it is only deserved. Funny thing is was watching the happiness in the manu players faces like they won the CL,lol. Two years ago they considered this Cup to be useless. Shujui where is Real Madrid's Treble,AC Milan's,Juventus,Barcelona..etc Manu won that treble with biggest luck of the irish i seen in my life,so a team has to carry such luck no matter how good they are. Anyways i hope things don't get too shambolic and we ruin our whole season. CL is the important thing, and that is what am expecting something from. Congrats to the Manyoo's
  5. agreed vanguish, Arsenal are missing proper defenders, everything else looks perfect. That Lauren is just crap, very very medicore player ,who plays out of position. Wenger has many blind spots for players, like Lauren,Silva,Wiltord and Cygan. ALso why in da hell would he try to play for the 1-0 scoreline,he never seems to learn that we always get pegged back when we try to hold on to a lead. We are not an italian side to do that. Henry is a comeptitor and his frustration showed after the lauren mishap. Northerner your claim of a one man team can apply to almost all the top teams. Look at manu season getting rocked as soon as Ferdinand was banned. Look at AC Milan this weekend when sheva was rested, until the last 20 mins. Look at Madrid's dismal form when Ronaldo was absent for 3 weeks! All top teams has to have that player that can turn things around in a split second. If liverpool hads atleast that,do u really think they would be drawing with a leciester City? Lol.
  6. Impressive Milan, they played like a real football team. None of that bullshit "catenaccio" tactics. They attacked from the start, and were unlucky in the first half to not have scored more. Depor didn't play that badly,it's just that there defending is in league with under 13 football team's defending. I have to say Valeron from Depor was very impressive, and Milan was just brilliant. But what is unbelievable about the CL quarterfinal draw,is out of all the possible permutations, the three strongest teams besides Milan, had to end up in the other side of the draw, paving a clear and easy road to the final for Milan. In that way, they are sure of an exciting final, since Real,Arsenal and Chelsea are all excellent opposition to Milan. Indeed this Milan side is much much better than last year's team, which is understandable with the inclusion of the ageless cafu, and the maestro kaka. Vanquish i was laughing and cringing too, everytime i saw that prat Inzaghi fall like a sac of potatoes. Damn i hate him, should be kicked out of this Milan side and be thrown to Ancona or some crap like that.
  7. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh what a great night for gunners fans, and especially exciting football loving folk. This year's CL will be a good one, with only one club representing the italian boremasters in the quarters. Like argued previously, there is nothing that the seria A should boast about, except being boring. Let's remind a seria A fan,his words earlier in the season: Man even if both teams qualify am sure that they will be knocked out the next round. Infact am certain, so much so that am willing to keep my mouth shutt for the rest of the Clander year if they do indeed progress further than the first round of the Knock out stages, if they reach there. Although Inter have the pedigree, they are in dirstaits right now, and Arsenal are simply over hyped, and it takes just one bad game fo them to capitulate like Inter (3-0, as appose to 1-5). No i would look to Real, Juve, & Stutgart and chealsa as dark houses hahahahha,i wonder if the seria A man himself can live up to his own promise? This is the same man,who viewed Henry negatively, and hyped up the totti's and cassano's. This Henry has just become the fourth player to reach the 30+ goals mark in european competition . Now can we really take Shujui's take on football seriously anymore? I'll leave you with this reading shujui, learn how to show appreciation from your belovedly-hated Henry: Henry's Take Gunners!
  8. hahaha, shujui getting ahead of himself again. One week of high scoring drama, doesn't make up for years of yawn drawing muck. Also don't let the Roma-Inter score flatter you,the scoreline should have been much lower. Last two goals came with Inter playing with ten men and pushing forward. Anyways you must feel aggreieved with Roma being in such form and still being behind AC by five whole points. I think this season is their best chance for the Scudetto, cause next season i highly doubt they will be battling with the big boys, especially after Totti and Cassano have a cack euro2004,lool.
  9. Libaax yes i do think it co-relates with madam Arawello legacy. Funny thing is since i posted this thread, there has been a sharp increase in the number of girls calling themselves "Queen's"(empirically speaking ofcourse). This title is not used by confident somali girls only, but also those very very shy ones, that hardly utter a word. That is why i stand with the title of my thread, and say it is more of a cliche now rather than a state of mind.
  10. we had to draw united i guess, funny thing is last time united and arsenal met in the fa CUp semis, was in 99 at villa park. When Giggs dismantled the whole Arsenal team to score one of the best goals ever scored, and from their they went on to win the treble. can this be an omen for Arsenal's treble? crossing fingers
  11. what a crab league the title race is already over and there is still 11 games to go and some poeple try to maintain its the best league in the world. Damn what a sour grape you have become shujui! Just because your prediction of Manu winning the title has taken a catastrophic turn, you try taking a jibe at the whole PL,rather than appreciate the gunners for having such an excellent unbeaten run. let me see here, because of the point difference between first place and second, the whole league is crap? Well in that case your beloved Roma's excellent season, has no merit since they are still behind by five whole points in the so called most competitive league! Italian Serie A February 29, 2004 PD PT AC Milan 23 58 Roma 23 53 Juventus 23 52 Lazio 23 40 Parma 23 39 Inter Milan 23 36 Udinese 23 36 Sampdoria 23 33 Chievo Verona 23 29 Brescia 23 27 Bologna 23 25 Lecce 23 25 Modena 23 23 Siena 23 22 Reggina 23 22 Empoli 23 20 Perugia 23 17 Ancona 23 6 And now the real best league in the world: February 29, 2004Primera Liga OVERALL HOME AWAY Pts GD Real Madrid 59 25 Valencia 51 27 Deportivo La Coruña 50 23 Barcelona 46 12 Athletic Bilbao 41 4 Atletico Madrid 40 1 Osasuna 38 4 Betis Sevilla 37 6 Villarreal 36 1 FC Sevilla 35 8 Málaga 35 -4 Racing Santander 32 -6 Real Sociedad 31 -7 Real Zaragoza 29 -8 Valladolid 29 -9 Albacete 29 -9 Mallorca 29 -15 Celta Vigo 27 -11 Espanyol 23 -22 Murcia 16 -20 So with Madrid having a 8 point lead on second placed Valencia now,by your logic La Liga has become crap too!LOOOL
  12. I must say i was a nervous reck the whole game. We played poorly, but still managed an away win. A testament of a great side! Also Henry's 30 yard goal should have counted, the linesman got it wrong. Celta Vigo have some quality, but not enough.
  13. Interesting my personality is "Filthy",i wonder who came out with this line of thinking?
  14. nothing impressive about London i must say, that constant use of bus and Train and the lack of proper water mixing, makes it a unpleasant place to live for a spoiled canadian like me. But i guess everyone has adapted to their surroundings,so throw us at a desert and we shall find it welcoming.
  15. In the meantime, Somali women are not questioning why so many Somali "faraxs" are marrying non-Somali women. hmmmmmm, do I smell a hint of double-standardness from the guys? Double standards always existed in this world, and it is not confined to somalis only. It is very simple, somali women are the ones who are showing an apetite for arrogance, and not the faraxs. From non-somali married ones to ones who are single, many of them have that thought in their head. In the case of the Faraxs, they rarely show unrationale justification for marrying a non-somali besides their love for them. Where the xalimos will try and give many of the reasons already outlined in this topic. Almost at every somali website, you will see the females playing around with this idea, and not the males. Why can't it be just love, and not "because somali men are this and that"? I don't know maybe this is a Freudian like conundrum, where father-daughter,mother-son relationship should be examined in the somali front! Naaahhhh
  16. Interesting to see a few sisters saying they would marry a non-somali for the sake of having cute kids. Now let me see here, somali women have been getting all kinds of praise for their beauty in the Qurbolands, sort of distorting their thought at the same time. Yet they always forget that this so called beauty of theirs would not have been possible without the union of a somali man and women. Now isn't the real reason somalis feel that they are in higher calibre to the rest of the africans, is because there seen as blacks with caucasoid features? Meaning a mixed child will not have that specialty, and just be looked at as another-->half cast. In the end don't commit actions out of selfish or lustfull reasons, your parents happiness should be parallel with if not above your own. Don't forget marriage does not belong to no certain race or ethnic group, but to Allah only.
  17. no probs winger! i live close to waterloo, just drop me a message in my private message box and let me know what's up!
  18. I must say that Milan derby was quite the game. very unusual for seria A game, especially a derby of this sort. Damn Inter wankers! Winger check out www.foxsportsworld.com to get a listing for a nearby pub. Or check out www.soccertv.com! Or just enjoy the basketball and Hockey on display for you!
  19. Yep the Fat lady has sang already in the Prem race, and she was wearing an Arsenal jersey. Everyone, especially the doubters and haters stand up for the Champions!! Guunerrrsssss!
  20. Well that threw out Norf "One man Team" argument. Infact Henry hasn't played in many crucial games for Arsenal, last season's replay against Chelsea,Ouraterfinals at Old Trafford,May 2002 at Old Trafford. So that argument is usually thrown by bitter rival fans, lol. Anyways Norf i see you still clinging to that day at Cardiff, were Pool pulled off one of the biggest robberies in British history. Oh how i love it when Arsenal play in Anfield,so much space, especially on the left where Cole,Pires and Henry like to terrorise. Pool pummelled us in the first half of this season's game, but still managed to lose. Now they have to face an ever confident and in-form Arsenal. Your team looked very fluid against Pompey, but still let them equalise,so what makes you think the Arsenal Juggerrnaut will be stopped on their tracks by a lonely Pool who relies on a Gerrard that will be sucking on Veira's toe again, and a hoof Chasing Owen? Kewell is the only player worthy of mention here. Roll on with the show! Like Tank said,Wenger makes it look so easy!
  21. In the All Star Weekend show, Charles Barkely was dissing Cassell, saying he looks like Golum from Lord of The Rings. I must say he was on point.

Baaniyal bro surely your hatred for the Italians or anything to do with the Italians just blocks you fair judgements. So therefore you arguments can not be taken into any creditabily. You said to me about few months ago, that most ppl hated "Arsenal" for no reason (which is obviously not true) I think you're doing same thing with the Italians. Totti had an outstanding campainge something which himself did not pretict. Henry is a good player but that tournament he had an avarage, which is something that could not be singled out from players like Zidane, Figo or Totti. At that stage Totti was known by many ppl (I bet you didn't know him as well ) as he is now, maybe thats your main argument. Funny as you say that, but this just proved to me how you misread things. I ask you to go back and read my statement, you will clearly notice me giving fair due to Nesta and Maldini as being the top defenders. Like i said there was nothing eye catching about Totti, and ofcourse i knew who da hell he was prior to the tournament, infact he was being hailed as the new golden boy(saviour) of italian football, complete italian media hype it was. Infact every dutch player had a better tourney than Totti! Bergkamp,Overmars and Kluivert were much much more memorable than Totti, don't belive me, look for yourself at what Totti the creative genius of italy created for his teamates in euro 2000---> Euro2000 Stats So how did he have a more memorable euro2000 than Henry,Overmars,Bergkamp,Figo..the stats tell the story! Your fighting a lost cause here!

agreed Northerner.. I remember Zidane,Henry,Figo as the top attacking players. Notice i didn't mention any dutch players, eventhough they are my second fav team and made it to the semis! I remember Thuram,Nesta,Maldini as the top defenders. So basically Totti falls within the category of mediocre performances of Euro 2000,meaning not good or bad,but nothing memorable.
  24. yes, relax y'all.. I think everyone falls in love with a certain club, because of a special moment that captured their attention. To say many armchair fans exist in Arsenal,is somewhat correct/incorrect. The reason for that is,usually these individuals are looked at as glory hunters,so when it comes to Arsenal what glory have they won, besides two doubles since Wenger's reign? The real reason i feel many of these people are riding the Arsenal tide,is because of the attractive football this team is playing. The george Graham era did not grab such attention, because simply they were a bore to watch, they always played for the 1-0 scoreline, which became a trademark saying with "Boring Boring Arsenal". You had Manu winning every year, with a bunch of players from their youth academy. And all the way in Italy,a Galactico looking AC Milan was tearing europe to shreds. If the argument of bandwagoners exists with an Arsenal who hasn't really done anything, then why didn't Herbert Chapman 1930's Arsenal, who dominated the League for a whole decade, get such a fan frenzy(i know i know maybe cause of the lack of t.v in most nations),but still it is there to see. If we want to really look at the highest ratio for fan turnover from a club to another, just turn your head to the Manu dominated North American market,or Singapore,Malaysia,Thailand who have the largest fan base for Liverpool. Arsenal are not even within a distance from those two clubs for the asian market. Enjoy this Arsenal while you can everyone, cause i don't know for how long it will last for. Surely it is something to behold,a team that scores without headers and crosses.

Totti is very mediocre to me,he has nothing that will grab your attention like a Del Peiro,or Baggio. He had an average Euro 2000,like Northern said, aside from that back heel,i can't remember him do anything. Italy were lucky as usual to get that far, with the always penalty missing Dutch feeling generous again.I seen nothing of Totti in that game,as always it was all about Italy's defenders, rather than their offensive players. If you paid close attention, the real player that shone in that final was none other than Mr. Henry. He was the only light in a very dry game that kicked to life in the last 80 mins! When Totti has won atleast half of the tophies Beckham won,and plyed his trade at another league(PL or SL),then you can try to make the comparison between the two. But when all you done is won 1 Scudetto, and pull a dissapearing act in the big games, then we can't even consider you as a top 10 player, let alone the best.
