  1. The comments Geedi made reflect his inexperience, although he might be an educated individual, his educational background and most importantly his history in politics does not suit him for the second highest office in the Somali Government. Also, Abdualahi Yusuf is Geedi guest in Jowhar and doesn´t have many friends in that region, that´s why he has to keep his mouth shut. It´s definitely a sad situation.
  2. I can´t believe windtalker was such a fraud, he accused me of having multiple nicks as well. When it was actually he who was the dishonest one. Now that I think of it I knew that this guy had too much hatred and jealousy that went far beyond politics. But never knew it went to this extent. This shows that you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can´t fool all of the people all of the time.
  3. Lol, first of Puntlanders are brothers and they wouldn´t fight like that, puntland is a place of peace. That is why President Cade and Abdulahi Yusuf signed the peace deal(where else in Somalia does that happen?). I was there this summer and I was shocked at the peace for a place with so many guns, so much poverty and such a poorly funded police force. It was extremely safe, OF COURSE THERE IS CRIME AND MURDER. That is normal in all SOCIETIES, but there is no place in all of africa (heck in the WORLD)that is suffering like puntland is and has our peace...I´M SURE OF THAT. Speak about the good things that oil has done for nigeria´s economy, how it made their health care stronger and the education system that produces so many Ph´ds stronger. There is no other country in Africa that is moving forward like Nigeria. I am not talking about the (Arab league), a large reason is oil exploration. So continue the propoganda and focus on the bad things but remember that the truth will come out. Camelmilk I respect your opinion. But after what I saw I realized I wont be one of those somalis living abroad drinking starbucks complaining about puntland. For us it is easy to say it is not the right time, it doesnt affect us, but for the people it is the right time. They need the deal and that is why puntland is in favor of it, any deal is better then none. It´s easy for us to not want it. I support anything to help the people
  4. *********PLEASE STOP THE TRIBAL TALK ON OUR WEBSITE********* [ November 08, 2005, 19:00: Message edited by: Admin ]
  5. This is getting ridiculous and you are obviously doing this with no commmon sense. Afweyne is not the issue here, but rather your support for what he did. As a muslim talking bad ABOUT ANYONE IS BAD, not only the dead. Because Siad had such a huge negative influence on Somali history, it will result in him being brought up for years to come. Allah, can only judge him. Now back to your support of him Cadde threatened war No that´s what dictators do, but when Siad was doing it that was okay! Maybe under his dictatorship the nation as you remember it was better, but not for the majority of us. Puntland Parliament HAVE VOTED ON THE DEAL AND ACCEPT IT; ONE MINISTER EVEN SAID; THAT IF THIS DEAL EMPLOYEES 10 PEOPLE; I WILL SUPPORT IT. Every single member of parliment VOTED FOR IT TO PASS; EXCEPT FAROOLE. Look it up. The people of Puntland have been told about the deal, EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT IT. See there are ministers who´s job it is to relay the presidents messages, and right now the president is undergoing medical treatment. 10 months in office and you talk as if everything is finished. Jama Ali Jama is a coward? Well who had to run to Nigeria to seek refuge, because Somalia was too dangerous? What other person can´t step foot in Mogadishu even though everyone is telling him to? It´s so easy to complain complain complain, always knowing the problem but not the solution. THE DEAL IS GOING THROUGH.
  6. Where do I start, Ok first off, no website in all of Somalia is Pro anything. It is strictly pro tribe, each has it´s affiliations to a certain tribe. Allpuntland - omar mohamoud, horseednet - osman mohamud, garoweonline esse mohamud. So anyone that would say a website is pro-puntland shows their knowlege. Second Walaahi Bilaahi I am not Boqortooyo-pride or have ever posted under another name! Third Also, Cabdi Awaare (Cadde's clan-cousin) is one of Cadde's staunchest supporters within the PL Cabinet Please done ever pretend to be against those that use tribes in an arguements. The hypocrisy! Criticizing the president is fair, it comes with the territory and when you take that job on, it´s inevitable. But when you attack facts, you are just making a fool out of your self, I mean And the Puntland Parliament has never been given a chance to talk about the issue. THE DEAL IS GOING THROUGH, . The federal government knows it and have stopped their protest. (They claim the letter they wrote was written BEFORE they met the PL delegation.) THE PUNTLAND MINISTERS HAVE SEEN THE DEAL A LONG TIME AGO AND AGREED TO IT. Name me one minister that claims to never have voted on it...JUST ONE. This is why arguing is pointless with someone that knows nothing. Anyone with any knowlege would know that the Puntland ministers voted and accepted it with OVERWHELMING NUMBERS, even Faroole who was maybe the only one that had issues with it, is showing signs of putting his differences a side. For anyone reading this do your research and if you know any ministers or people that follow Puntland politics, ask them if a vote was taken on the deal involving Puntlands Ministers and you will see. After that we can put this issue to rest. Of course I'm jealous. I'm jealous of poor Somalis who are being cheated by their (s)elected "leaders" - from southern Somalia to central to North. I'm jealous of the corruption which continues to plague our Republic and restricts our ability to reach our potential. How many times can I say, you can never speak of President Cadde as a (s)elected leader or a leader that is holding the land hostage, for the simple fact that you supported Dictator SIAD "afwenye" BARRE. You can not support a dictator that used violence to reach his goals, that killed rivals and inprisoned them. High ranking people in puntland society voted for President Cadde. This is where your downfall is and you lose all respect. You spoke of corruption, yet you supported DICTATOR SIAD BARRE. HOW CAN YOU ATTACK ONE MAN FOR AN ALLEGED CRIME; BUT THEN SUPPORT ANOTHER THAT WAS NOTORIOUS FOR COMMITTING THE SAME AND EVEN FAR WORSE CRIMES. If you are truely a person against corruption or you are for the people, THEN YOU ARE AGAINST ANYONE THAT COMMITS IT AND NOT JUST CERTAIN PEOPLE. And believe me, your support for afweyne will never stop being used against you. A Puntland minister's house being attacked in Garoowe, PL capital, has only happened during the tenure of the Cadde Muuse administration. Definitely the most ridiculous comment so far. Claiming a ministers house has NEVER been attacked in Garowe before President Cade. (Even though Jama ali Jama & co were forced out of there by a large army and bullets), (peaceful garowe..lol)as you claim has never seen anything as bad as a ministers housing being sprayed with a few bullets. The fact is Puntland´s young men are not engaged in a civil war or fighting Somaliland, and the money is being is spent on infrastructure like the airport. But yup, in your opinion things are the most violent under this admin. Trevork my friend, most of Windtalker statements are WRONG.
  7. I don´t know why I contiue to always respond, I just have never seen such ignorance. Suddenly, he's meeting with so-called TFG ministers in Jowhar? Why? He and Gaagaab are Cadde's #1 advisors. You know Cadde is such a dissappointing chap? Because he's got Gaagaab (his nemesis during the elections) not only as finance minister, but also as his #1 advisor. Gaagaab was running for VP and Hashi for Pres, both were not successful. For someone like you that supported Afweyne dictatoship which would have either killed or put anyone that went against him in jail would not understand the meaning of working together, this is a democracy that is still in its infancy and not afweyne´s dictatorship. Gaagaab and Faroole (who also ran against Pres Cade)are both part of the Presidents Admin. They were never nemesis´s but rather competitors. Gaagaab and Faroole have a big influence on their respected area´s of Puntland and are both highly capable. See that is why they were all running for such high positions. They are all grown men who want to see puntland improve and dont hold petty grudges. "Reer Baadiye politicians in power (you know who)"; "when did Liban Boqor (Cadde's kin)"; "And if caruurtii Reer X continue to use PL as their family's own backyard"; "Since history repeats itself, if you go to Boosaaso today, you'll see their offspring bragging about power and wealth. Reer Bari run everything in the commercial capital like its their own backyard, thanks to Gen. Cadde, right? No wonder you're happy. But Somalis are all the same, nonetheless. Those in power are known to take historical shit on the rest". Like I said, their is a jealousy that goes far beyond politics. I dont even have to really respond. If you mentioned anything that we could debate, i´d be glad to. But "Some say he's more powerful than actual PL ministers", well I just got back from there and let me say SOME PEOPLE SAY A LOT OF THINGS. Everyone has an opinion on something. But if you have an issue with Cade´s kin, eating etiquette, reer boqor, reer bari or qardo. Then I can´t help you, those are your problems. Have you ever met any of these people you speak of? Or is everything second hand info? Regardless, President Cade is working with men that he once ran against for the greater good of Puntland. The days of killing, throwning in jail are over!!
  8. Basically the Leader of Somaliland said there will be a war if Puntland does oil drilling in Sool and Sanaag. This area is claimed by Somaliland, but mostly under Puntland control. I highly doubt anything will come of it. Secondly, about the recent deal. The Australians are using the Federal letter and Somaliland presidents comments as a bargaining chip and try to get an upper hand on minor details. Range has made it clear the project is good to go and they have confidence in Puntlands Security. Remember that this is an exploration and not extracting oil. Also, a new letter may come out from the federal government from what I hear, which will be bashing the deal. But we will wait and see, there are many people with different agendas from all over writing negativitely about it and continue to on a daily basis. But between the Puntland Admin and Range. The deal will go through and equiptment will arrive in Puntland. Puntland realizes that this deal may give them the oppurtunity to show how safe their area is and gain more interest from other companys. If oil or other minerals are found, that is truely when things will get interesting. All these petty arguements will look like nothing compared to what will happen if something is found. So expect more letters from the Federal gov´t, Somaliland Gov´t, those against the deal and range´s competitors. But like I wrote earlier, The Puntland Gov´t and Range will work together and no one can stop it. Finally, Puntland is too poor and the people need too much help for its Gov´t to just sit back and let its people suffer. They need investment.
  9. PL is hostage to the Caddes and the Gaagaabs. You truely are a fool, bottom line. You are someone that supported Afweynes dictatorship and claim it was the best for Somalia. Yet, President Cade Muse who was voted in and didnt use force or a coup, is the one that is holding Puntland Hostage? Comparing him to the warlords in Mogadishu, do you see the irony? Mentioning Qardho and Reer boqor, shows that there is more of an underlining jealousy towards the presidents that goes far beyond politics. But then again, someone that supported a president that used military force to gain and keep power, wouldnt understand the difference between an elected president or a dictator.
  10. The talk was first that "the deal would never go through", then it was that "somali soil was not for sale". Now i am hearing, it will but only in Qardho, lol. GEDI AND HIS STAFF WHO CANT EVEN GET THEIR OWN TRIBAL PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO THEM IN MOGADISHU; HAVE NO INFLUENCE IN PUNTLAND. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop the Puntland Admin from exploring any region of their territory. 15 years has been too long and the people who are in a horrible situation need help. Come with something productive and meaningful, and stop the constant complaining about this and that. I just recentely returned and saw how the people are living and let me say that THEY CAN NO LONGER WAIT; and any business deal is better then none.
  11. The lies never cease, just like how the TFG says we didnt not recieve weapons from yemen, even after Yemen admitted it has sent weapons. The ethopians gave heavy military aid to Abdulahi Yusuf, you dont remember what happened after he took bosasso? The battles that took place all over Puntland for years and major one in Duudo? You think after Boasasso things stop there? All the fighing with Somaliland? Even after he was elected as the TFG president there was a fight with Somaliland. I mean, all I am saying is right now....THERE IS NO FIGHTING ANYWHERE. Of course things are far from perfect and lot must be worked on, but ridiculous amounts of money is not being spent on war any longer and money is going into an airport and other projects.
  12. So much war, either with ourselves or other regions. Like i´ve been saying, this is clearly puntlands most peaceful era. Too much money spent on fighting back then.
  13. indy7424, I am not sure about Hafza but i´ll ask around. There are many people that want to establish free zones in Puntland, but I will try and find out about them. I recentely got back from Puntland and realized how serious the situation is and how people are living. The people virtually have nothing, while we live in our modern countries people there are in a really bad condition. We can no longer wait for something to happen for us, and we need to start doing something with our land. Believe me, Gedi claimed the letter was wrote before he had met the puntland delegation. Regardless, the exploration will start soon.
  14. Sticking to the topic? The topic is over, THE DEAL IS GOING THROUGH. I said from the beginning that it would and nothing could stop it.So what is the issue here? Puntland admin said it would go through with it and it is. I heard so much talk about, our land is not for sale and other garbage, but now that the deal is finalized, the arguement is over.
  15. Just by your response and personal attacks I can tell that I hit a nerve. Let me enlighten you about a few facts. . Siad is a great leader??? Wow, if you took a poll of most Somalis and whether he was a great leader or not, the vast majority will say he was not. Allah will judge his actions. When he took over Somalia it was already unified and during his term HE WAS DEFEATED BY THE ETHIOPIANS and The North fought a civil war and now wants to split away, because of him. (brief history lesson). OF COURSE THE PUNTLAND ADMIN will send a delegation to explain the deal. Because we are still part of Somalia. But did you notice the deal was signed before they met with Gedi?? As you see and if anyone does research the deal is commencing. Let me tell you this, in less then a year, the PL administration has gotten a lot done, if this little thing caused this much of a stir, from what I hear there´s a whole lot more coming. I am for all of Somalia developing and hopefully Geedi will concentration on his people in the south and get their act together.
  16. Very interesting, I will keep this short and sweet GEDI HAS OKAY´D THE DEAL, do you understand that? He gave his so called approval of it, so what is the issue here? PUNTLAND GOING THROUGH WITH IT. He knew he could never stop it, Gedi when he goes to Mogadishu there are bombings and attacks, and he needs an army to protect him and must leave the same day, AND THOSE ARE HIS OWN TRIBAL PEOPLE, he cant even lead them. President Cade Muse is building a multi-million dollar airport and paying teachers saleries....lets look at what gedi has accomplished for Somalis and what President Cade has. Look regardless of what you may believe Siad isnt coming back and his place in history is secure and where he ended up. There is no need to say anything else or, but i´ve said it once and say it again.....WE WILL SEE HOW THAT DEAL GOES THROUGH.
  17. indy7424 brother, believe me you can research everything I mentioned about and the deal. And you will see that the TFG has given full support and that what Geedi and his people wrote to the australian stock exchange were supposedly done before the delegation went to Jowhar. This deal could never be stopped, I mean what can Geedi do, send forces to Bosasso port to prevent it? There is nothing he can do about it. He knows and thats why he had to sneak around and write the letter. He cant get his act together in the south and has little to no control of it and wishes to see Puntland staying where they are. What I can promise u is, that Puntland will continue moving forward(the airport is proof) and that this deal has recieved HIGH INTEREST FROM ALL OF THE WORLD. So we will see what happens to Puntland
  18. This is what happened, Geedi claimed that the protest letter that his people in the TFG had signed "Somali Government weighs in on mining deal". Was written before they had meet the Puntland delegation. Even though that is a ridiculous excuse in my opinion, Geedi knew he and his people could never stop it.
  19. Read this if you have question about financing of the deal. http://www.allpuntland.com/eng/news_item.asp?NewsID=1830 Of course it wont go away, Geedi and his people do not want to see Puntland Succeed, that is why he is complaining, because he knows there is absolutely nothing he can do to stop the deal; he has no power over Puntland. Thats why when the delegation went to Jowhar, he was forced to approve the deal. Cause he knew, either way Puntland is going through with it. We will see how successful things turn out, but regardless Puntland is doing things and will continue to.
  20. ALL OF U THAT QUESTIONED THE LEGITIMACY OF THIS DEAL; THAT CALL THE PRESIDENT A CROOK; THAT HAD SO MUCH NEGATIVITY, SAYING IT WAS BOGUS; EAT YOUR WORDS; FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. I know that´s what you´ll do. Remember he always has Puntlands best interests in mind. http://www.hiiraan.org/2005/oct/somali_news06_1.html Junior explorer Range Resources pinned its hopes on Somalia's Democratic State of Puntland yesterday, signing an agreement that gives it exclusive mineral and oil and gas exploration and development rights in the semi-autonomous state. Range said it would fund the deal through a $3.45 million non-renouncable 1-for-2 rights issue at 1.5c each. Executive director Jim Marinis said his company would initially focus on oil and gas exploration, although there was also hope of finding copper, iron ore, manganese, tin and other metals. Conoco-Phillips and Shell conducted exploration and drilling in the state in the 1980s and early 1990s but the programs were abandoned and the exploration data destroyed after the Somali government was ousted in 1991 and the country descended into famine and tribal warfare. Range will have a 50.1 per cent interest in all projects and is looking to draw multinationals like Conoco-Phillips and Shell back into the country as farm-in partners and operators. Range believes the political situation in Puntland, a semi-autonomous state in the country's north-east, near the Horn of Africa, is stable enough to draw investment to the region. "The state does not experience the 'political unrest' currently affecting Mogadishu and the southern half of Somalia," Range's release to the stock exchange said. But the Australian, British and US governments all have strict warnings in place against travel to all regions of Somalia and none maintain an embassy there. The CIA's World Factbook reports that Puntland disputes its border with the neighbouring self-governing province Somaliland and has suffered "civil strife", while the US State Department says "serious fighting" has occurred in the state. A 15th century BC visit to the Land of Punt, generally believed to be Somalia, by the Queen Hatshepsut of the 18th Dynasty is recorded on the queen's mortuary temple opposite Thebes. Mr Marinis has not visited Puntland, reputedly having signed the agreement with the state's government in Dubai. But executive chairman Michael Povey toured the state in April and did so without armed guards, Mr Marinis said. "There is definitely no civil unrest," Mr Marinis said. Range is now establishing a workforce of Australians, other expats and Somalis and expects to begin exploration by the end of the month. Nearly one-quarter of Range's shares changed hands yesterday. They closed 0.4c higher at 3c. Source: The Sydney Morning Herald, Oct 06, 2005
  21. Well, Well, Well. I find it extremely interesting that this topic deals with an issue that people (who will all remain nameless), were just recently complaining about i.e ethiopian refugees and illegal residents that are living in bosasso and are trying to sneak to the middle east and europe. It´s funny when there is something positive coming out of Puntland no one is here to make a comment and I highly doubt any of you will. It´s so easy for you to criticize at ever difficult moment that Puntland has. I mean seriously, I was thinking maybe they are so negative because they are not really from Puntland. But now I am seeing similarity that the ones the are attacking President Cades Administration are the same ones that are the biggest supporters of Abdulahi Yusuf and that maybe they realize that many people are saying more is being done with President Cade in charge of Puntland then when Abdulahi was. But regardless, I see by the lack of positive feedback when something good is happening in Puntland, is a result of those that are ruining our country and regardless of what a single person says. Are using their tribe to determine who to criticizes and support.
  22. I'll keep this short and sweet, since I dont have time at the moment. The majority of Puntlands Government agreed with it, no one has come out and said something. Although many may not be happy, they all have their own personal business idea's. You have more then a right to complain about the president. But when you do, you must realize that many people are passionate about where puntland is going and don't want to see people bring it down for their own tribal interests. Let me tell you, Puntland is already getting money out of the deal, desperately needed money. Of course gaagaab will ask for money, PUNTLAND IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF ALL THE MONEY IT CAN GET. Consort has money, everyone in the government knows it. It's hilarious, someone wants to pull puntland out of trouble and there's those that want to pull it down. Crabs in a bucket. It's easy to complain you realize that, come with something more protuctive
  23. When I saw the topic and that Wind Talker made a post. I was thinking, wow some how he'll find a way to blame it on the Presidents administration. I finally understand why your nick is Wind Talker, because that is exactly what you do! You just talk into the wind none stop, complaining like a little girl. I mean get a life, I understand that the President is of a different tribe then you and Somalis love seeing the other fail. I understand that we have the worst Government in the world, because of people like you that don’t know the meaning of support. But give me a break. Would a crook be building an Airport, paying teachers salaries? Do you realize no one else in our history has put such an interest in building Puntland? And how can you say the company is "illegitimate"; do you realize they will pay millions of desperately needed dollars to Puntland. WE NEED MONEY TO DEFEND AGAINST OUR PROBLEMS, WHETHER IT BE THE SO- CALLED ETHOPIAN REFUGEES OR POVERTY. Do you realize, we can't wait any longer people are suffering and there aren't companies knocking at our door. Cause they are afraid of violence and instability and that if we are successful with this one, it might gain interest from other companies? Listen, it's easy to live in your developed land and complain what is going on back in Somalia, Just remember, the vast majority of Puntlands politicians supported the deal and no one has publicly spoken out against it publicly, not even Faroole. Why you ask? They understand how desperate things are. Just read that article about that Somali doctor that was trained in Canada and how she went back to Hargeisa and what she had to say about the situation.
  24. Uchi can I ask, when's the last time you've gone to Puntland? How dare you say that the lives of the next generation are in jeopardy! Do you realize their lives are in jeopardy right now as I write? That all they have ever known is living in jeopardy? Do you realize that never in Puntlands history, do the people have so much hope? Although it may not seem much, For them it is huge? No one has put such an interest in getting foreign investment into Puntland the Pres. Cade. Do you realize these guys have money and are willing to put it into Puntland, which will reach the people? And OF COURSE THEY WANT TO MAKE FINICIAL GAIN, CAUSE THAT HOW BUSINESS DEALS WORK, BOTH SIDES BENIFIT. I have just returned from there and let me tell you, things are not as great as many may think. For those of us that have gone back and lived, life may seem good, but for those that have lived in Puntland all their lives, for many life is horrible. The majority of the Puntland Government and People support the deal. The Government endorsed it; Faroole won't dare come out publicly and say a word about it. These people need whatever they can get, and insha'Allah this will get the ball rolling for future business deals. We can no longer wait another day.
  25. Here we go Garowe online, making a complaint out of jealousy. Absolutely nothing has taken place criminal, yet they are acting like it is the end of the world. The president wanted to get the ball rolling and get foreign investment into Puntland, because it was not taking place. He had to make tough decisions and we will see the outcome. This tribal fighting must stop. [ September 15, 2005, 13:48: Message edited by: Mursal ]
