  1. Thank you all for your input. over all, i get the feeling that you're telling me to surf through these pages with hear no evil see no evil type of mindset lol i guess whatever it takes to keep the peace in this place huh, unlike other sites that are engulfed in civil wars between members lol
  2. salaams to u all! Well first of all, i just want to make clear the purpose of this topic as it could be interpreted as criticism rather than its curious nature. I am fairly new to this site and have enjoyed reading the opinions of others as well as expressing mine. ok let me cut to the chase here. i just had an opportunity to read throught the golden rules of this website posted above the topics. i didn't have any problem whatsoever with what i've seen, however, the one part that kind of raised my eybraw was the restriction of "objectionable language". now i could be wrong but i interpreted as "opposing opinions" which begs the question, are all the members here expected to agree with each other? in other words, reply only if you agree in fear of impolite contents that could be contianed in objectionable and rebuttal replys. in any case i would appreciate your input. thanks
  3. sophist, thanks for the link. looks quite informative. i must have overlooked it the last time i was here for i have mentioned my disappointments in you for not providing this info in another post so forgive me walaal
  4. haaruun i know eh. ala meeye caano geel marka
  5. qoryolay tuug, thanks for the info on this author. i had enquired earlier about his full name and more info on his books in another post by a member named sophist that fist sparked my interest in him, for which of course he had failed to impart but he is forgiven lol thanks!
  6. quote from sophist --------------------------------- (Captivated through out the read; my eyes glued to every single line, each with its distinct power to allure the reader to what will come next. Links is not a book that is just written for pleasure reading- although decidedly that is something the reader will spew from it- it is a book that challenges the contemporary notions of nationality, boundaries and what it means to belong to a country; even more; that metaphysical question of what MAKES WHO WE ARE.) -------------------------------------------------- interesting. are you a book reviewer yourself?(professionally that is). i have not read the book in question nor have scant clue of its author yet i somehow feel complel to extend my interest for which i may or perhaps should merely out of its relations to my dear land. i'd appreciate more info about the author and the title of this particular book. mahadsanid!
  7. I consider myself a strong and independent woman who embraces challenges of any caliber and of course stands shoulder to shoulder with her male counterpart, but please and i mean please dare not call me a feminist. the word somehow insinuates traits of masculinity and that is far from moi and not depicting of this fine, fair, fragile and very feminine baadiya girl
  8. haaruun thanks walaal, that was nice of you gabar tuujiye sorry to protrude if it appears as such but i saw the baadiya post and since i'm the official baadiya rep here. i thought i'd add my two cents.lol. yaa kusoo celi bal, tuujis caafimaad baa laga qadaa aa? xagaas iga mari tuugiska aniga walaal sidaas ma u jirani dee.lol.
  9. gabar tuujiye horta adiga magacaada baa idiley, xaax, nagadaa tuujiska you wonder how reer baadiya stay so clean huh? walaal everything about baadiya is natural so in the morning cadey fresh ah baad geed ka soo jabsaneysaa and in my belief works better than the chemically engineered toothpaste. biyo xareed oo cirka ka yimid baad ku qabeysanaysaa, plus no stress or worries like these westeren countries so u stink less.lol. ok ok, i am not one to best describe the life of a baadiya. i was raised in the west but i consider myself a baadiya enthusiast. the geel jire stories, the customs and those things attributed to the nomadic lifestyle that boast of the somali culture. in all its rarity, not too many young somalis in my age group share my particular fascination so i find myself enjoying the company of those much much older as they share old time stories and sip some intoxicating shah with qorfe iyo heyl, weird i know but i can't help it, its my weird hobby
  10. how lovely, this is a great post to introduce myself. well this is my first post here, i am new to this virtual realm. very different from my baadiya life so give me a chance to dust the dirt from my feet and fix up my guntina. to sum it up, good to part of this corner for nomands, feels like home somehow
