Some women was given the challenge to leave the house without make up, and she was having kittens, it took her so long to leave the house because she was scared of showing her face. Lol I could not believe that there are people who are that worried about how they look. Make up is for special occasions and for people who can apply it without damaging their face, or stabbing themselves in the eye! lol

Hello hello. So now I’m student AGAIN, I have to pick a country for the next year. I can pick any country I want, but I have to do all my research and main project on that country. But I have a big big problem, you see there is no current updated literature or data for Somalia/ Somaliland/ Puntland. I’ve search all the e-journals, books etc. nothing, all I found hidden in the history section was history of Somali, the latest thing published that I can find on the area is from 2000. So maybe I’m searching in all the wrong places or not using the right key phrases or something. So can someone please give me a hand. I need at least four main recent books and about 10 Journal articles on any region in Somalia. Oh and the lastly, it should be on economic development. I told you it was hard P.s. No Googling articles please. In the meantime I’m thinking I might do Kenya if I cannot find enough starting ground work on back home. Let me tell you guys about my first lecture. Oh okay I’ll go and do in the student section. P.s.s. It is learning from scratch again, I have forgotten everything I think in one year.

Andromeda, I live around a large Somali community, and from what I see most girls are health and look balanced, but there are few who are extremely thin, I don't speak to them so I cannot say if they have an eating disorder or because of extreme and excessive diet. In saying that I have seen a worrying trend of kids (under 13 or so) who are obese, along with their mothers, when you speak to the mothers, they say waa caaruur fat it will drop off as they grow taller etc. I think mothers in my area have a tendency to over feed their kids, and for some strange reason they think it is health for them. A lot of families have uncontrolled quantities of junk food in their homes, and kids just eat this with no monitoring.

He is making my job and life harder, and since his actions affects me (he appointed himself as speaking for Muslim women) and according to him every Muslim (real Muslim he adds) will support him on this, I too can take an opinion on him and I have a right (as a Muslim women) to object to what he says if I don’t think it Is a true reflection. There is nothing wrong with extremism, just be extreme in your own home, don't try and pass it off as normal thing that all Muslims do. If I really told you what I think of them, you would have a heart attack, so since it is Ramadan I'll leave it at that. P.s. Notice I put "extremist" in quotation marks. I did not label them as such.

Both come on TV, some say they are extreme, I just think they are rude and misguided. I remember once Mr. Chowdhury was on Newsnight (It was over the niqab issue) and there was this Arab lady on the show with him, and she was talking about Muslim women etc, and he goes to her, "why are you here? you should be at home, and how can you speak of hijab or even Muslim women and you don't have a hijab on yourself, Go and cover yourself!" Lol, I sitting thinking Dude, do you know this show is watched by 90% non Muslims, and you have just publicly humiliated the women and appeared like a lunatic by personalizing an issue she was initially supporting you on! :mad: He is always so rude and confrontational, and never lets other people speak. He just lacks basic manners to be honest. Asad Butt is this dentist brother but he has also been in the media for being an "extremist" but he is just confused from what I've read and seen.
