    Today I....

I just found out my former roommate and cousin die Today, I never got to ask for her forgiveness for all those evil jokes I played on her. May Allah forgive me, May Allah SWT make her suffering her reward and grant her paradise. For a 26year old she sure suffered a lot.

  12. Loool. This was a good read. lool Hehe
  13. ^^^That sounds so evil. Hopefully they will not be punished for what they forgot.
  14. ^^You can not guide who you want, and guidance is ultimately from Allah. You've been asked to do your part as a parent, that is all you can do. Correcting a wrong with a wrong does not make it right. And I'm not being liberal, honestly it is just the reality. There are a few parents who do their best and still their kids hit the highway, but for the rest they let the society bring up their kids for them, which is a dangerous thing. Especially the older generation, the gap between child and parent is enormous, and it is the society which fills that gap. Parents almost have a police role and drive all un-Islamic actions underground. How parents I know who think they have perfect children, because their kids have developed multiple identities. The dua may also be the problem, baal uu sheek all the married ones
  15. ^I was being sarcastic! Lol that is exactly what I meant.
  16. North really? in what, well better hurry up before you get too old ( according to some, the older you get, the less likely you will return to education) Lool @African players. Oh and Thanks Yaabka, maybe I guess it is better than nothing, unless it means we will just have better educated and more sophisticated warlords, which is not good at all They say learning is the key, maybe, hopefully. Xalimo: ULU are you kidding me? lol
  17. It is sinful for you to insult Allah’s creation. So careful for your own sake. It is sad instead of educating kids at a young age and guiding them properly, some parents have resorted to kidnapping and forceful marriages. Marrying her off to some Farah is not going to make her a better person, nor will it change her. If she is smart she’d go along with it, return to Canada and do as she pleases after that and never return. We cannot keep our kids (specially when they become adults in box’s) Inevitability they have to make their own choices in life, which we may or may not approve. But if you did your part as a parent, you have nothing to worry about.

  20. Talk coming up next month if anyone is interested. MEDIA COVERAGE OF THE ‘WAR ON TERROR’ Agenda setting, public opinion and foreign policy Date: 24th November 2007 Venue: King’s College, The Strand Campus, University of London, UK. This conference gathers academics, journalists, researcher, policy makers and civil society organisations to discuss the coverage of the American led ‘War on Terror’ by various news media organisations and its implications on public opinion as well as formation of foreign policy. After September the 11th 2001 attacks the American government launched a new ‘war’ ostensibly to eradicate extremism and ‘terrorism’ amongst groups of Muslim faith around the world. A war that has been seen by some as a war on Islam and Muslims which replaces the long standing Cold War withthe former USSR. This ‘war’ has been creating lots of controversies from around the world. The western as well Arab media seem to be standing at opposite directions. The distorted media image of the Arab people is becoming ingrained in Western culture and continues to inhibit a resolution of the foreign policy of such countries as the USA, UK and France. In order to show the extent of the harm caused by distorted images, examples from news coverage will be offered. Pertinent to the image problem are illustrations of how misperceptions from the past have helped and continue to help influence policymakers' actions and decisions. Fair portrayals and accurate information are essential to foreign policy decisions; false images and incorrect information may corrupt the policymaking process. Conference themes: - Western and Arab media coverage of the ‘War on Terror’ - How independent is Western media from the agendas of their respectivegovernments - To what extent is the coverage of CNN, BBC, Al-Jazeera and others affected by the foreign policy agenda of their governments? - Arab VS Western media: are we watching the same coverage? - Who sets the agenda: The media or politicians? - The impact of such coverage on public opinion, namely the increase of islamophobia around the world? - Does the coverage of terrorism results in the increase of the phenomenon itself? - To what extend does the media coverage gives credibility to the clash of civilisations thesis? - Use of propaganda by states and organizations, and the impact of media coverage on public opinion Confirmed Speakers: - Mr. Leon Barkho: Jönköping University, Sweden - Dr Ibrahim Saleh, American University in Cairo, Egypt - Prof Marie Gillespie, Open University, UK - Dr Ben O'Loughlin, Royal Holloway,University of London - Dr Makram Khoury: Cambridge University, Cambridge - Dr Noureddine Miladi, University of Northampton/ CAMMRO - Mr Anas Altikriti, The Cordoba Foundation - Dr Muhammad Ahsan, FRSA, UK - Prof. Hillel Nossek, College of Management Academic Studies, Tel Aviv - Ms Debbie James Smith, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan - Ms Zahera Harb, Cardiff School of Journalism, UK - Mr James Lewry, London School of Economics - Dr Melek Atabey, Eastern Mediterranean University, Turkey - Ms Judith Vidal-Hall, Index on Censorship, London - Dr Stuart Price, De Montfort University, UK - Dr. Khalid Al Mubarak Mustafa, Sudan Embassy, London - Mr Sulaiman Arti, Loughborough University, UK - Ms Cristina Archetti, Leeds University, UK - Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, International Islamic University,Islamabad,Pakistan - Ms Faiza Qureshi, Loughborough University, UK - Ms Gwen Bouvier, University of Wales, Aberystwyth - Miss Olivia Allison, King’s College, University of London - Mr Raffaello Pantucci, International Institute, for Strategic Studies(IISS), UK - Ian Taylor, Loughborough University, UK - Dr Mohamedd Safar Hasim, Universiti Kebangsaan, Malaysia - Dr Adrian Brockett, York St John University, UK - Mr Afshin Rattansi, GMTV and Bloomberg News, London - Dr. Wail Ismail A.
