  1. Hmmmm, how I ended up as the discussion of a Cantrabaqash thread is beyond me. Even my shoes are to classy for this nonsense. Juxa and JB, ninkaan waa waada hadal, he has figured out to get you guys to talk to him and give him a tiny bit of attention, he must try and insult, call me names and generally be the usual cantrabaqash. So pay our special case friend no mind and let him be, Juxa, I am intimidating and dominating- Somali men are terrified of me and I like it that way :D Alpha good you put all your cantrabaqash together- from now on you shall get your daily fill of attention without having to create new thread and various stories. This is the smartest idea you've had EVER. Now stop writing like a retard and LOL after insults and write English like I know you can.
  2. What is the big deal? He looks happy so let him be. Shaqolaan.com.
  3. North: HEre is the job http://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/somali-language-analysts/22060638#/jobs/mi5/p8044&card=details MI5 is the organisation that protects the United Kingdom by watching for and disrupting threats to national security. Our Language Analysts help us in our investigations. We need people to join our team who can understand the Somali language and culture. You’ll listen to recorded conversations, understand what is being said in Somali and the context behind it, and then write it down in good English. Once you have listened to the words, you’ll be able to work out what is important and what is everyday conversation. What exactly are people saying? What are their intentions? Can we act upon this for the good of our community and national security? This really is a worthwhile job as you’ll help to protect people who could be at risk. You will work as part of a team and there will be many different colleagues asking for your help. Sometimes you’ll need to do a quick translation; sometimes it could be a longer piece of work. Discretion is vital. Please only talk about your application with close family.

  5. Abu, maybe so, her role in bring him up and loving him is not really disputed- just the inability of some in making decisions without first calling their mother, or every time they are angry or upset, or happy or just gossiping. In my view it is a little OTT parents need their own time too- particularly when you are grown, male or female, people need to be more independent and self sufficient. Plus- it can't be nice for them if you make them worry so much about you, all the time and make them make all your decisions for you.
  6. ^^^^^lol, you are too emotional!. No they are not evil kids- they are a product of their teaching, they have never heard an alternative. When they grow up and meet all kinds of people with all kinds of believes they will wonder. They know evolution, it is called the gaalo theory, they get tested on it too
  7. No cut for the story, simply for entertainment purposes only! you get to laugh- a lot. At first I thought it was amusing- culture and sayings or proverbs are so different here. Afterwards I just told them waa a trick proverb- there is no real answer. They kept saying yes, but it is an interesting question which we never thought of. My old house mate was a teacher, and in trying to teach the kids between FACTS and OPINION: She asked what is a fact: and they said Allah is the only God, she got into trouble for telling them that is an opinion. lol the kids baa ashkateye (told on her). lol
  8. Lol, @ al kabab on a friday night. Ngonge may help you, but only if you let him write story about you. Yeah one of the old guards. Maybe you know him (bit like when people tell you, I've a Somali friend, maybe you know them) The other day, at work I asked a group of senior departmental heads and deputy director- "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" When they asked me one of the many WHAT IF questions. I regretted it, because for another 30mins they forgot the topic at hand and started debating about it, even worse by the end, one was being called a kafir. Acuudbililah, never again in a Somali content.
  9. Narniah: Loool Such typical development. My first job was as a 12 year old, I was a translator for old ladies at the GP and teaching kids/ old ladies Quran. All those years ago! IT paid for my sweets, school uniform and books and pens. I have been working since. Narniah, to help you understand what is going: Your boss farah is either being protective of a Somali sister- particularly if he knows the other guys is a bit of player, OR 2, the farah has a crash on you, in which case, stop buying him drinks and exchange socks, unless you want to extend the exchange process. Otherwise tell him, walalo I'm a big girl, I can handle myself. He will soon become judgmental and distance or he will be a good sport and let you be. Marry you? so fast? is he Asian or Arab? tell him your father is racist, how last time a foreign guy tired to marry you, your dad burnt him but no one could prove it, so he should keep his distance. Do it with a serious face. :D My fiction had has burnt down so many guys and got away with it.
  10. Loool yep, your rating will become so bad that you are going to be chucked off the site. I will have you know, he won the best nomad of the year, despite being a different in views and faith. Quite an achievement would you not agree. Of course since then we had the rise of Al Kabab.
  11. Looool. this thread made my morning. loooool Malika!!!!!! loool Fighting over women or man is not cool, unless the dude was 1) man handling her or 2) Bothering her despite being told to piss off. She just needs to promptly remove his arm and say, hello farah, have you met my husband farah? (regardless of she just met you), normal he would move along swiftly. Im sure she gets hit on all the time and deals with it on daily basis, so no need to start a fight or get beaten. Fact 1: Guys respond to women threats better than a man. IF you threaten him- he will kick your as*s because he feel challenged. But when a 5.5 skinny xalimo threatens to cut his balls off if he dont bugger off, he will go. Fact 2: Stop going to hood-rat weddings You know the ones where guys lurk outside waiting to jump girls or in their cars offering rides at the end of the night. Fact 3: Your girl can handle herself, you are always not going to be around to get beaten up or call your clan- so let it be
  12. Awwwww Alpha is a Mum's boy. On a different note, it is amazing how many guys are mum's boys (not a problem on its own) but with the inability to make decisions without consulting her. Kinda strange. Alpha, good luck and may you find yourself in a better mood always. Juxa; Honesty is the best way, say what you need to say, when you need to say it.
  13. Apophis, lol maybe my subconscious was feeling sorry for you. Rep power of 9, too many people you pis*sd off. hehe lol Ooops just saw your joining date- not bad. I thought you was an old nomad Caano Geel with a new dress. You sound like him. Same views and everything, you just post more than he.
  14. ^^^^ Firficowni (Somali word) Entertaining P.s. Are there any rules about using the bland word "nice" and the number of times you can comment?
  15. I accidently rated Apophis. Phone internet sucks. Oh well. Poster I learnt a long time u can only control ur actions and no one else. So relax n let it go.
  16. Garnaqsi;874595 wrote: Are you sure you didn't have Chimera as a boss? i dont know- for all I know he could've been a SOL user. lol Ngonge that is because you are an Arab.
  17. Loool @ naqaska kugu dhejiye; The worst part was I didnt know he was doing this, until some time later- explained many attitudes and reactions when I found out. Of course after an interesting confrontation in which I told him to act in accordance with his position and do his job, he sort of become normal. Turned out to be a nice guy aside from the Arab side views which sometimes surfaced.
  18. Ignore her- there is either something wrong with her OR she is far too advance for you. Either way, dont open wajibook. Worse case it is Alpha.
  19. I was asking Wyre- the rest of you had not posted when I posted that reply I agree, smart thing would be to buy the ad next to it and then have a big red arrow pointing at the offending add with your own message.
  20. Chubacka, work ethics tent to be the same everywhere you go- generally speaking. If you start dividing people- you will always sub divide, so between the Somalis and so. Work is one of the very few settings where generally once you get there- it does not matter much your personal outside work life. Lool @ the old man who knew everything thing. Speaking of working with Somalis, I once had a Somali boss, who after two months in my job found out I was Somali and automatically become super overprotective. Every guy ila hadla department kale or shift kale ayuu uu badli jirey. I remember there was an OZ guy who was a such laugh, and he actually not only changed his work scheduled so we dont cross paths, but he also told him to keep away from me or else! lol
  21. Mona Eltahawy and the anti-Muslim subway ads: is hers the right approach? A US civil court ruling that several controversial 'anti-Jihad' advertisements in 10 New York City subway stations are protected under the first amendment has prompted prominent Egyptian American writer and activist Mona Eltahawy to protest. On Tuesday night, Eltahawy was arrested after spraying paint over one of the ads, which read: 'In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.' The New York Post recorded the incident, which includes a lengthy and awkward standoff between Eltahawy and a woman identified as Pamela Hall. "Mona, do you think you have the right to do this?" Eltahawy was asked. "I do, actually," Eltahawy replied, adding: "I think this is freedom of expression, just as [the ad] is freedom of expression." Eventually, the NYPD arrived. "See this, America?" Eltahawy said as she was handcuffed by police. "This is what happens to non-violent protest in 2012. I'm an Egyptian American and I refuse hate." Eltahawy is not alone in her frustration. Since the ads went up, several groups, including prominent Jewish figures, have demanded they be removed. Eltahawy, however, is the first to take action. The MTA has said its "hands are tied" over the ads, which means the posters could be there to stay. But has Eltahawy's arrest proved a point? Do you agree with Eltahawy that spraying paint over the ad should be allowed as 'freedom of expression'? Should more people take action? Or is this the wrong approach? Use this open thread to discuss. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/sep/26/mona-eltahawy-anti-muslim-subway-ads
