    They call us SomaliArab because we like to be called that.We love and respect our roots whatever from Arabian side or Somali side. Even though I argue that Somali Are Arab too. I would love to be called Somali/Yemenian/Egyption icon_razz.gificon_razz.gif

    Good idea! I've been called Somali Arab. I love it cause I wont loose my original roots.

     

    We have SyrianSomali family and their last name is "Al-somali"..Just normal typical Arab looking family but their grandfather was Somali who married Syrianlady.

    I know the expression "saqajam wahid" is used in Somali language, but do they have it in Arabic as well?

    Hmm I'm not sure! I believe it means as the Egyption say "Ya weskh".... I don't know but my grandpa's sister uses a lot when she is pissed off.

    No, I did not miss your comment. But is blocked by our provider. Normaly they block or as they like to call "Filter" any bad sites and ofcourse anything against their politics :D

    ^ I'm with Sheh, Why not if he worths.... we asking for equality and we want guys do every thing!! You can't have it both way.

     

    Ask for marriage, exactly the way you wanted him to ask! Or just be a tradition girl 100%.

     

    My self I would and he would said " Yes let us do it" Or "No" and insert some excuses ... So That time I wouldn't waste my time and energy.

    This topic reminds me few years back when a Sudanese guy was accused being raped a 5 years old girl....One of the lawyers was giving speech and said "the Somali criminal...." As arguementive as I'm I just object and said " Excuse me sir, The guy is Sudannese... He replied to me with angery tone " Somali or Sudannese they all same".." Somali walla Sudani kollu wahed" :eek: ... Then I said NO they are not the same ..Do I look like sudannese and he said are you Somali!!..I was just pissed off. So I understand where this irritations comming from..

    LoooooL@jb.Isn't funny! They hate anything and every thing about Arabs and in the end they come and say we are an Arab descents and worse each of these claim they are from House of Quraish...lol Why they couldn't pick another Tribe bal...lol

     

    Maybe all they knew from Arab is Quraish and house of Prophet... So they just picked that.

     

    But hey why you blame them..Even my mom which is an Egyption they say they are from Quraish's house whom moved from Arabian peninsula to Egypt...Ohhh if I just did not know the history I would buy it... hope she doesn't read here or tonight I would sleep with out dinner :D:D

    ^^About the topic I don't know why Somalis making a big deal? My mom and also my grandma got their pre-Islam exist Tribe names as a family name...As every one in Arabian Gulf does. Never seen people killing each other or insulting each other...You just know where you want to marry from (which family)..As you don't want some one put your kids down cause you married from Unknown family ..lol

     

    Our bedouin logic says if you want to marry; marry from any nation "BUT" Note is capital BUT...marry from the best class of that nation.. for example If you want to marry African Marry from Ex-Saldans in Nigeria...Or from royal families from Ethiopia.... Or house of Turkish Clapate (Khalifa) :D:D ...Good huh:P
