  7. To get a sense of Kismayo and its good citizens, look no further than these fine nomads. Baashi Bob Xiin Jacphar Awooweyaal, Kismayo is a great Somali city which is more than capable of accommodating all clans. Please drop the old clannish bravado and let us move forward towards the future.

I am pretty happy with this debate. Robme was just deflated.
  9. lol@scream. Awoowe Romney dazzled using the gish gallop technique. It worked well for Romney and O stood there amazed, not knowing where to begin. :)
  10. Garaad Baashi, O is slightly rising in the latest polls. Romney's surge seems to have bottomed out. The bleeding has stopped perhaps because of uncle Joe's debate performance. I hope he comes out swinging on Tuesday's debate.
  11. I get the feeling that the IDP camps have become more of a business for the NGOs than a refuge for the displaced.
  12. Joe did what he had to do tonight. Ryan was factchecked on the spot. Uncle Joe clearly won this debate.

Samafal - Whats happening buddy, i was expecting your email and skype details, how is KSA. Awoowe, Obama was gish galloped. Pure and simple. I believe (or I hope) Obama will be better prepared next debate now that a new Mitt Romney has emerged.

  15. More important are the battleground state polls. Because the US is a divided country, the election really comes down to who wins in the battleground states. Looking at the latest polls, the downward trend for Obama in these states is receding. Ohio could be Obama's firewall. If Obama can keep Ohio, he will win this election. Ohio: NBC/WSJ/Marist: Obama 51-45% Florida: NBC/WSJ/Marist: Obama 48-47% Virginia: NBC/WSJ/Marist: Romney 48-47%, CBS/NYT/Quinnipiac: Obama 51-46% Colorado: CBS/NYT/Quinnipiac: Romney 48-47% Wisconsin: CBS/NYT/Quinnipiac: Obama 50-47% Michigan: Detroit News: Obama 49-42%.
  16. We all knew this election was going to be tough for Obama, but I think the man is just not into it anymore. I am with those who argue that Obama doesn't want it as much as the other guy. It is entirely possible that Obama may have thrown the election away with that awful debate performance. What are your thoughts?
  17. Somalia;874906 wrote: Excellencies, The end of Somalia's transition was brought about by the tremendous joint efforts of the Transitional Federal Government, Somali regional administrations, civil society and our traditional elders. Against all odds, within one year, Somalis were able to adopt a new provisional constitution, create a new parliament and elect a new President, heralding the beginning of a new era. This one-year experience has shown several things - when we put our minds to it, we Somalis are capable of overcoming tremendous obstacles and delivering on expectations. It has shown that we can effect our political transitions within our owncountry. It has shown that Somalis are indeed ready for a new chapter, and are calling for a permanent government that can build on the foundations of this remarkable year. Indeed when we put our minds to it, we are more than capable. Great speech.
  18. Did he say he was a Somali diplomat for 20 years? Very erratic behavior indeed.
  19. Minister Asha Gelle, a limitless servant of the Somali people, was recently sacked by President Faroole for reasons unknown to the public. Street speculation is that she was vocal about her support for Dr. Abdiweli against the wishes of President Faroole who did not want to see Dr. Abdiweli become Prime Minster again. President Xasan recently said that he inherited empty national coffers from the previous team. In contrast, Asha Gelle leaves behind a functioning ministry with 1 million dollars in its account. If every so-called minister out there did something remotely close to what Asha Gelle did over the years, our country would get up on its feet much sooner. Today, I salute Asha Gelle!
  20. SOL nomads may be having a hard time figuring out who the new Prime Minister will be, but here is the silver lining; one of the names being circulated around the internet portals is actually SOL nomad.
