Tom Fordyce plots Mo Farah's rocky rise from refugee to European champion Farah, arriving in Britain in 1993 from Mogadishu as a nine-year-old refugee, was almost immediately in trouble. Among the very few English phrases his father had taught him were 'where is the toilet?' and 'come on then'. Unfortunately, on his first day at school, he made the mistake of saying the latter to the local hard-nut and, in his own words, got 'twatted' Even then he was nearly led down the wrong path. Farah likes to have fun. Even in Tuesday's final he was grinning at his opponents, wagging his finger at others and looking behind him to wave Thompson closer. In his early 20s, it was more about the partying; he once stripped naked and jumped from Kingston Bridge into the River Thames. Read more

Farah turned in a display of supreme confidence, bordering on arrogance, as he took gold in 28 minutes 24.99 seconds ahead of team-mate Chris Thompson. The Somalia-born 27-year-old had finally hit the front in a slow race with five laps to go, but then beckoned Spain's Ayad Lamdassem through to take up the pace with just over three laps remaining. Remarkably, a lap later Farah was so confident the race was his that he turned around to encourage Thompson, who was engaged in a battle with Italy's Daniele Meucci some 30m behind. And the gambit paid massive dividends as Farah stormed clear with 350m to go and Thompson produced a rousing finish to overhaul Lamdassem and just hold off Meucci on the line, both athletes given the same time of 28:27.33. Four years ago in Gothenburg Britain won just one gold medal in the entire championships, claiming the men's 4x100m relay on the final day of competition. But Farah and Thompson were always expected to deliver, coming into the race separated by less than a second this year but more than 30 seconds quicker than anyone else in the field.

Farah turned in a superb performance to win in a time of 28 minutes, 24.99 seconds. The 27-year-old stormed clear of Spain's Ayad Lamdassem with 350m to go, and never looked like being caught. Thompson produced a rousing final lap to overhaul Lamdassem and just beat Italy's Daniele Meucci on the line. A delighted Farah said afterwards: 'It's awesome to win this, this means so much to me and my family. 'I had big doubts in the winter. I put it behind me and kept training. 'I gave it 100 per cent four years ago, but got beaten by the better man. This time it all went right.'

Thats what I'm talking about. Those pics don't need any description or commentary. They speak volumes about how things have been handled in a responsible way through the extended presidential term, throughout the respective political campaigns, throughout the elections and now with an amicable transfer of power. Wish I was there for this historic event. Even Faisal Waraabe is smiling and sharing a joke. That would be a great caption by the way (maybe Ngonge can hazard what he was saying and who he was talking about ) Thanks JB. -
Probably down to knowing the plot and reading the rave reviews that made me expect more. If I watched it blind back when it was released I would have probably enjoyed it more. Is your last link 4 Lions?

Xiiny , why don't you leave SL out of this? If you've just broken your leg and you get a head ache on your way to the hospital, what is your priority? Fix your leg or drop an asprin?
