  3. Originally posted by Mj. bada Cas: Paragon.loool Shay mire dacar waa xuusaan yar eh. Marka uu awr geela fuushan yey ayaa ugu qosol badan, in aanu waligii fuulan waa lagaranaya.loool Ma reer Sanag ayad tahay saaxib? Lol, asliyan? Haa! Waa dhulkay Aabahay iyo Awowyadeey ka soo farcameen. Aniguse, I like to call many places my home. I am linked to Sanaag by ehel iyo qaraabo and to other regions of somali lands, by nolol qaybsi iyo asxaab wacan! So, markey sheekadu dhii garto oo laysu abtirsado, 'Xiingalool' comes up on my behalf. I prefer 'Reer Kismaayo lee waaye yaakhey!'
  4. ^^perhaps the most Puntlanders you have ever met are through SOL? They are overall a million of them and believe me, the majority are the image of the ideal Somali. Yey and Cade are trying to turnish this image. This where I come in the equation. PS: The picture is in Mogadishu. But there is no such difference between Tigre supporters wherever they are.
  5. ^^Thats the more nastier lyric I was trying to avpoid sxb lol. Here goes: 'Cadey celi calaso soo daa Cadey garbasaar haloo gado'e Cambaro 'dabagelis' haloo gade (nasty, I know) Something something ceebla dabakuruseey lol Can't write the rest of the lyric, its too graphic, I tell you. The geeljire men are not very subtle when dealing with the subject of female suitors. Now, about the Diisoow. This dance is very impressive indeed. The men with a raised a baakoor in hand, raise the right hand and correspondingly, raise and release the left feet to skip continuously, while their leg right is fully grounded, taking the balance of the dancer's weight. The dancers form a line of around 5 to 10 and follow each other, their pressed right legs producing a line in the soil - they approach the semi-cirlce of the chorus men and in the instance the reach inside the semi-circle, the chorus men change their tune and the danceers produce one hell of impressive and coordinated rythmic footwork, signifying a culmination of their procession and the end of one chorus. The chorus goes thus: Diisoow hooya! Diisoow hooya! Baarbaar aawey! Aawey warankii Diisoow Hooya! Geesi aawey!.... Can't recall much more than that...but in the above lyric, the intention is to incense young men (baarbaarta) into fighting. Its a warrior song. I know this dance attracts Faarax Brown , I am suspecting he is of the great cattle herder families in the Waamo and Northern Eastern kenya regions . These families were said to be blessed with such large numbers of cattle that they called in a meeting to pray to Allah to limit his blessing, for if not, this abundance of wealth would interest their youth into Fasahaad. Wise elders, they were. PS: If you are reer Short-Mouth , I would trust you are big fan of Gaaleyso .

  7. Lol, so very effective. Now Dhahar is sporting a new Mayor and local district officials thanks to Puntland . Now, if I must suggest, we must have another council for Dhahar from the Somaliland side and an additional one from the 'Danwanaag' State... This shall give Dhaharians a variety of choices...or democracy in different colours . Granting that is, all these different entities would conceed electoral defeat. I don't think the Qardho boys would like that- they have oil deals in this region and don't want to repay the deposits they have been paid .
  8. I will be back later on, Insha-Allah, to post my input into this topic, and also to answer the questions addressed to me. There are few contagious factors that need to be carefully managed, which if not, may only create further displeasure on the part of reer Sanaag and neighbouring populations. Insha-Allahu, I'll be back.
  9. War Barafisoorka hala soo dhaweeyo oo haloo sacbiyo. Bal sug aan sawirkeyga anna lasoo baxee
  10. Another cultural videos, especially for the ladies this time. Here is Shey Mire Dacar acting the part of 'Baadiye Gentleman' Wacaneey Ayaamahan
  11. Lol, the preffered name is Gaaleeyso.. Both the Gaaleeyso and Diisoow are dances in which the menfolk, ornamented with long double-edged Abley of traditional knifes, line up in a semi-circle while the players, consisting of 7 to 9, begin dance towards inside the semi-circle of men stomping the group rthmically. They raise their Baakoor in the hair and coordinate their steps and clapping to produce mesmorizing percussion-like sounds. There is a beautifully sung chorus which guides the stomping of the feets. Occassionally, women join in (camel ladies- the most fiesty ones) the chorus singing and the dancing itself. This amuses the men who carry on laughing while they dance. The words of the song could be as follow; 'Hobow, hoobaalle, how-baallow, Hadday bil-billaabaneysaaye, anaa baabkeeda lay baraye, Hadday 'balaqley' u ektahaye! Thats how, Ms Dhucdhuc
  12. If you already know about Saar, Dhaanto, Gaaleeys (Balaqleey played by camel herders), Diisoow (played cattle keepers), Walasaqo and etc... you would find Jaandheer to be in similar league. There is also Seylici which I am not familiar with. Here is Jaandheer for you who haven't had the opportunity to experience these cultural dances first hand .
  13. I am posting this, and it doesn't reflect me at all. Weli Inaan Ku Jecelahay

  18. Who do you think you are, gandhi? Maakhir, Maansa, Hunguri iyo Dabshid, indeed I agree, traitors should always be executed. Now, my brothers of the region, or shall I say, tolkaygoow . As you have already mentioned, there are alot of deficiences in minding the business of the region as of now. There is a power-struggle between two regional states to have control over it. And as I see it, choosing one above the other has its consequences and also its limitations. Therefore, it becomes imparative that the region must seek a third alternative, in the form of 'Danwanaag'. A good name actually - sounds abit socialist, but I like it . So, what next? Lets say the choice is made and the literature (constitution) of this new state is laid out- what becomes its aim? To remain independent of all other states or to be independent only when it applies to Somaliland and Puntland? Shall this new state make its destination the creation of overall legitimate Somali Republic Government? A new state would need a great deal of things; it would need sufficient economic and political outlets/inlets in relation to other international states. How would these economic outlets become available? You need trading infrastructure such as ports, airports, roads and so on. Most of all, the state must have something to sell to others which is always in demand? Starting work on LaasQorey port is a good initiative and if successful, I am sure the roads and other necessary infrastructure would follow. The problem is, in the meantime, where would needed materials for this contruction come through? Can they come directly to LaasQorey?
  19. Hadaan magacaaga hor marsho ka waran, oo aad lacagtana dhiibtid si saanad iyo hub loogu gado? Alleylehe rag rag dhalay iga dheh. Allaa yacizak, Alle-Ubaahne.

  22. Wafti beryahanba Sanaag Bari ku sugnaa ayeey reer Puntland weerar ku soo qaadeen, Captain. Meesha ciidan Somaliland soo dirtay ma joogine raggaa wufuudda ah ayaa loo dan lahaa. Sida sharafta iyo martisoorka Soomaalinimo lagu yaqiinna, reer Dhahar martidoodii ayeey difaaceen. It is a Somali response. Any Somali host would do the same, that is if they still adhere to Somali customs and not Ethiopian .
