  1. Salaam Aleykum Duke I have been reading your posts lately and i wanted to ask you a question: If the Puntland wadaado were to take over from Cade Muse, and set up courts there, would you be happy?
  2. I agree Che. Puntland should be dealt with at first. I would want the wadaado from Puntland to set up a court there and rid of all the corription in that region. I am booked to visit Puntland this December, I wonder if it is safe for me or whether Sheikh Turki and other's plan of a regime change which i am all for.

  4. Anyone like Soor for suhr? I used to hate the stuff, but i realised how it is cooked makes all the difference.
  5. I would find farting from men and women more offensive than burping.
  6. Actually there was a programme on National Geogrpahy channel called Megastructures and one eposide was about the Jebel Ali Palm. It was awesome how they constructed the world's largest artificial islands in the shape of massive palm trees. It was fascinating to see the remarkable technological innovation behind the project. If anyone has this channel, it is being shown again tomorrow at 8pm and 13th of October: http://www.nationalgeographic.co.uk/watch/program_details.aspx?id_program=8034 I love Megastructures as they explore the engineering feats that have turned the impossible into possible. From man made islands in Dubai to the world's largest hydroelectric power plant. In each programme we were shown the construction of these mammoth structures around the globe.
  7. After Tsunami, I would never live near a sea, especially the Palm tree islands and the world islands..not that i would be offered anyway!
  8. Salaam aleykum Legend I used to be like that but i continued reading and UNDERSTANDING Quran and ahaadeeths. Keep reading and making dua, and in the end Quluubtaada wey jilceysaa. Try to read touching stories of the prophet (saw) and his companions. There are truly touching stories to read. Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said he would rather shed two tears from the fear of Allah than give a thousand dinars in charity. And the most telling example of a man who few would think would cry because of Allah is Umar, may Allah be pleased with him. He was known for being strong, fearless, and uncompromising when it came to matters of faith. Yet, Abdullah ibn Isa said that Umar had two black streaks on his face because of constant weeping. He feared Allah so much that he once said, "If someone announced from the heavens that everybody will enter Paradise except one person, I would fear that that person would be me." Umar was one of the strongest believers. Yet he cried and feared Allah. And Abu Bakr, he was simply known for his crying. These people loved to serve human beings in the day and spent time begging God to save humanity at night. May Allah be pleased with them. At-Tirmidhi narrated on the authority of Ibn `Abbas that Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Two eyes are never touched by the Hell-fire: the eyes (of a man who) shed tears for fear of Allah and the eyes (of a man who) kept awake to guard (Muslims) for the sake of Allah.â€
  9. Salaam aleykum MM I can understand that you are sceptical and i am too. But i think the Courts are selecting their battles for now which is wise thing to do for the moment. They have many enemies and it really doesnt make sense to wage a war on those who fought along side you. Having said this, i was just reading this following report and i dont know how accurate it is: MUQDISHO: Khilaaf Xooggan oo soo dhexgalay xubno ka tirsan Maxkamadaha oo isku haysta Shabeellada Hoose Posted to the Web Oct 05, 10:46 Muqdisho (PP) - Waxaa jira khilaaf soo xoogeysanaya oo u dhexeeya Yuusuf Indho-cadde oo ah Guddoomiyaha guddiga ammaanka ee Maxkamadaha dhawaanna afka ka wareejiyay maamulka Shabeellada Hoose iyo Aadan Xaashi Cayroow oo ah sarkaal ka tirsan Maxkamadaha. 10. Moving the finger while tashahud: http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/Fatwa/ShowFatwa.php?lang=E&Id=868&Option=FatwaId
  11. Salaam aleykum Takbir (raise both hands shoulder level and say "Allahu Akbar") I was sitting with some of the companions of Allah's Apostle and we were discussing about the way of praying of the Prophet . Abu Humaid As-Saidi said, "I remember the prayer of Allah's Apostle better than any one of you. ... I saw him raising both his hands up to the level of the shoulders on saying the Takbir..." [bukhari 1.791, Narrated Muhammad bin Amr bin Ata] "Allah's Messenger used to raise both his hands up to the level of his shoulders when opening the As-Salat (the prayer); and on saying the Takbir for bowing. And on raising his head from bowing he used to do the same and then say Sami 'Allahu liman hamidah, Rabbana walakal-hamd. And he did not do that (i.e. raising his hands) in prostrations." [bukhari 1.702, Narrated 'Abdullah bin Umar] About moving the finger: The sunnah with regards to pointing is to move the forefinger throughout the tashahhud,in accordance with the hadeeth of Wail ibn Hujr(ra) -which is reported by Ahmad(4/138),Abu Daawood (no.727), an-Nasaaee(2/236), ad-Daarimee (1/314-315), Ibn ul-Jaarood(no.208) and Ibn Khuzaimah (no.714) with Saheeh isnaad and there occurs in it, "...then he closed his fingers and made a ring, then he raised his finger and I saw him moving it and making duaa with it, then I came in a time and when it was cold and so I saw the people with cloaks upon them moving their hands beneath their clothes due to the cold". As for the hadeeth of Abdullah ibn az-Zubair(ra)-where in is mentioned that the prophet (saw) used to point with his finger when he made duaa and not move it. It is reported by Abu Dawood(no.989); its isnaad is not authentic since it contains Muhammad ibn 'Ajalah, about whom adh-Dhabee says, "of average memory," The ahadeeth of the like of him are not acceptable if they contradict anyone who is more reliable than him and his narration becomes shaadh and therefore Muslim does not report from him except to endorse something. Even if this hadeeth were established, then it is a denial and the hadeeth of Waail ibn Hujr is affirming. That which affirms is taken over that which denies, since the one who affirms something has an increase in knowledge and he knows is a proof against he who does not. This sunnah is also from the sayings of Imaam Maalik(ra)-as occurs in the book ar-Risaalah of Abdullah ibn Abee Zaid al-Qairwanee al-Maalikee (p.27) and the book al-Fiqh alal madhaahib il-Arbaah(no.98).Imaam Ahmad was asked,Should a man point his finger in the Prayer? So he said,"Yes strongly." See Masaail ul-Imaam Ahmad, the narration of Ibn Haani(1/80). First, look towards your right shoulder and, speaking to the angel that records your good deeds, say "as sala'amu alaikum" or a better greeting (i.e. "as sala'amu alaikum wa rahmatullahi"). It is optional to then turn your head and look towards your left shoulder, speaking to the angel that records your bad deeds, and give the same or lesser greeting as to your right. Regarding the Takbir upon standing up for a new rakat: When standing up to begin rakat 2 and 4, Do NOT lift hands, but DO say "Allahu Akbar" (Takbir). When standing up to begin the 3rd rakat, DO lift hands shoulder-height and say "Allahu Akbar" (Takbir).

    A Second Wifey?

Salaam aleykum brother Nur I found the article to be one-sided (it constantly argues from the wife's point of view). Whilst polygamy is neither compulsory nor is it advocated, it is permitted when the situation calls for. Obviously there was a reason that Allah permitted it. Is it kind or noble to turn out a woman in her old or middle age from her home, just because she remains sick or she happens to be barren? If the wife is chronically ill, or is barren, or for some other reasons it is not desirable for the couple to live as husband and wife, isnt it asking bit too much from the husband to curb his desires- especially in this day and age where immorality is abundant? Polygamy saves men from a major sin- Adultery. Remember here is where men and women differ. It may not be PC to say this, men have different (increased) libido than women. Sacrifice wouldnt come into the equation if both the husband and wife are pious and God-fearing couple. I read from somewhere that polygamy offers a "practical remedy for the problems to destitute families; the alternative is continued and increased prostitution, concubine and distressing spinsterhood." They may have a point. It is not uncommon where a wife herself persuades the husband to marry a second wife. In fact, the masjid i attend sometimes, there was a lady who couldnt have children and has asked her friend to marry her husband. This is the ultimate sacrifice and selfless act: to share your loved one and not deprive of him children if Allah wills. In Islam, the husband is responsible to maintain his wife or wives and all his children. It is an obligation, which must be fulfilled in all circumstances. If a husband follows the tenets of Islam, he is bound to think twice before entering a new marriage whether he would be able to meet his financial and other obligations concerning the new wife and her off-springs. If his financial condition is not strong, he has to refrain from the new marriage. Allah knows how i would personally react if my husband were to decide to marry a second wife. But I would like to think that i would accept this as Qadr of Allah, keep my duty as a wife and be patient for Allah's sake.
  17. Why would anyone hang around malls anyway? You must have something to do with your precious time surely.

  19. Originally posted by AAliyah416: Asalaamu alaikum, Cambaro when you are saying "....that having a second wife is a gift Allah blessed with your husband if he chooses Who are you to disallow it when Allah permitted it". Are you saying if your husband chooses to have a second wife you will still be married to em? . Honestly, if i was married i would certainly not forbid since u just mentioned allah swt said it is permissible in the quran and going againt polygamy would mean i am in opposition to allah swt . However, that deosnt mean i will stick around  . If it is my house bacda madow u tuuri laha , and if its his i will pack up and hit the road wa salaaamu alaikum Wa aleykum salaam aaliya You have the choice to take it or leave it. But instead of rushing to divorce, the best thing to do is to have a clause in your marriage contract from the beginning that he cant marry under any circumstance or with few conditions. I have actually seen where a polygamy marriage has worked succesfully for all parties concerned. It gave the wives time for themselves to pursue their interest whilst helping each other to bring up the family.
  20. Salaam Aleykum If you want to attack a society, who/where do you start? I dont mean in the physical sense, but on a psychological level? I honestly think it is the women. Tell them how they are subjugated and oppressed by their menfolk.
  21. ^^ NO. I will be chilling with family and friends/increasing my knowledge/pampering myself whilst he is working overtime to keep 2 family/get 2 nagging wives if he falls behind on his duties etc etc.
  22. The way i see it: Half the responsiblity for me and double the burden for him.
