  1. Anyone going to welcome me? ...As long as you are willing to assimilate to the SoL culture immediately:- Hay Daarin, Ku Daari Maayee Welcome to SoL! p.s i can already see that there is a potential friend of yours - Ahua the code Cracker!

    Questions ~

"What is your greatest fear?" ...fear itself!
  3. A very delicate matter indeed Khayr, laakiinse kawaran hadey hooyadu inanteeda jar ka tuureyso? Ahura, Must be the Brit in me! Chocolate@Honey, since when did the world change and somali women became conscious of their physique? or am i being a bit too pessimistic? Lool@Salahu-diin. She might faint upon seeing those hefty bils though!
  4. Suppose you have a friend. She ahs a daughter of about ten-and-one years of age.You are at your local Takeaway and your rather obese friend feeds her fairly sized daughter with whatever she desires and all the double-cheese burgers and Doner Kebabs she could afford. This happens occasionaly. You also see the her allowing the child all her pleasures and indulgences - chocolates, Fried Chips and the lot. Now, are you morally inclined to intervene between this woman's reprehensible conduct and ehr daughter as this might damage her, or do you leave them well alone to their own devices?
  5. Were there any report of autopsy? Any kind of investigation into the matter? ...Ducaqabe, the burial was meant to take place today, but has been halted so that investigations are carried out and the matter probed. The Independent Police Commissions have taken over the investigations, but i strongly doubt that they will reveal any necessary information to prosecute their fellow officers.
  6. Don't blame the youth of Today, Blame the parents that raised them
  7. Salaan Sare Dhamaan, Shortly after the events that took place in late 2005 - the shooting of the police officer in Bradford and seriosly wounding her colleage - tougher measures have been instilled in the borough of Greenwich, Woolwich in particular, where there is a large congregation of Somalis. No one knowns, for certain, the events that took place that day but the story so far is that Nur was sorrounded by a group of police officers in a building. there occured a heated exchange of words and fists and finally all we hear is that Nur ended up in a hospital in Camberwell. having visited the hospital, Nur lay there unconscious and feeble. His head swollen to a gigantic size. The Police claimed that he fell from the second storey of the building, but the word on the street is that they beat him severly and hospitalised him. This, of course, would be quite logical, for if Nur fell from the building then he should have atleast sustained other injuries - such as broken bones, etc - and not only injuries to the head. There were no other injuries apart from the head! The police officers that beat him are also quite proverbial among the residents of Woolwich, and are believed to have carried out this act just because the "police killer" happened to be from the same area. They were Jews by the way!
  8. Had it not been for the senseless actions of the dunder-headed triumvarate (and their killing of the police officer in Bradford) my friend would have been alive today! After spending a week or so in Coma due to his sustaining severe injuries to the head, Nur was pronounced dead (as i was told) yesterday. The police claimed that he fell from a the second floor of a building, but it is clear to the many Somali residents in Woolwich that this was nothing but a brutal attack - in revenge of the killed officer in Bradford. And i assure you, if you'll excuse my remarking on so trivial a circumstance (as it may seem to some), that those Officers will pay a hefty price. A Mudaaharaad is to be staged this Saturday infront of Plumstead Police station, Your welcome!
  9. Sorry, off topic but I know some maryooley who've been on welfare near two decades. That's a little more than temporary, no? ...Worry not Castro, soon those Maryooley will be forced to work, beg or starve as the total cessation of the Incapacity Benefit swings in! As for prayer at work, i remember once when dissapearance from the shop floor clearly provoked my manager (he was rather friendly though, despite his utter ignorance and support for Milwall FC)! And in order to put an end to this he suggested we compromise and said; "You do this O'aight, why don't ya give me a bloody break and pray all of 'em at once mate?" to which i burst out laughing and educated him abit about Islam.
  10. Salaam, Sincere Wow! This is very informative indeed bro! I have not read all the poems but printed them out to read at my leisure time along with this detail you've given! 12. Fayrouz London is pretty ONLY in pictures! As soon as you get on that sidewalk along the River Thames, the rotten stench from the stagnant water infests your nostrils. It has become offensive and putrid after a mixture of rain, feaces, dead bodies, and anything that comes to mind! I regularly commute past Chelsea Bridge on my way to and from the city and believe me there is nothing splendid about it either! That view though, i must admit, from the Royal Observatory in greenwich is a beautiful sight at night! In london you can worship freely at your workplace, uni, college and school without hinderance. ...Very true indeed! i was at Heathrow Airport last night escorting my nephew who was flying to Dubai, and upon us came Maghrib! I was rather surprised to see the multi-faith prayer room.
  13. the ones ingrained with the wise elders I used to see in Somalia. At one sitting, he can lecture about the essence of life, the meaning of life lived in its fullest. Well, at sixty they speak in poem, they pause with proverbs, and present themselves with all kinds of examples. Its the unique intellectual embodiments that shaped and differed a Somali elder from the rest of humanity ...Allaylehe run baad sheegtay! Danyeer, Fanax/Faantax is considered a beauty aspect in many parts of Somalia, thats why if a girldoesn possess one, she tries to space apart Dhoolayaasha.. The reasons, i heard tea makes the girl soft, don't ask me how! and maraq is meant to make the girls belly bigger, again don't ask me how and why!
  14. Life in Miyi/baadiye can be gruesome at times with the niceties of the life of luxury being a thing you never heard of. It is a part of Reer Miyi culture that the girl in the family is to be looked after untll she gets married. And in order to achieve this, and attain that dhex yar figure, the girl in the family was often deprived of:- Tea Maraq Hilib - often the best parts of the goat is given to the males, leaving her with either the misigta, tunka or Laf dhabarta ...Along with many other things. If you happen to have lived under these circumstances, please tell us what else you were not allowed... BTW, does anyone here have a clue as to why they are not allowed to have Tea or Maraq?

  16. Salaan Sare... You summed it up all Salaxudin! one Travel Guide website described London as "a cosmopolitan mix of Third and First Worlds, chauffeurs and beggars, the stubbornly traditional and the proudly avant-garde" Too many tourists from the other side of the Atlantic are often too complacent to broaden their horizons and often their whole World just revolves around America. Thats why most of them get hit by double-deckers in London. I was watching the news a few months ago when an American tourist got hit by a double-decker just a few hours after he landed. he got hospitalised and as soon as he got out he had to go back to his country - What a Holiday for the poor chap! I second Rockstar - My worst travel destination is Paris. They cal clearly see that you are a foreigner but will never converse with you in English, even the Travel Information Centres. It must be the inherent hate they have for the Brits i guess! Danyeer, If Holland is that good, then why the huge influx of you guys and your Schatje's in UK. Hollandies people are taking the UK by storm!
  17. These Yanks and Eastern Europeans are quite a funny bunch! There is a report revealed a few days ago that stated that London is no longer the travel destination it used to be and that Londoners are Rude and obnoxious and they Swear a lot Or is it that these effing foreigners haven't a very clear sense of perception? What is your worst travel destination experience? care to share?

  21. Bishaaro, if like me you do not have the courage to say NO to someone asking for something, then you'll forever keep lending things without expecting them to return...Iska ilow kuwaasi tage e!
  22. Salaan Sare Dhamaan Dadweynaha iyo Ciid Wanaagsan.... Maye Raggii gabayada tirin jirey? As you already know suugaanta soomaalida badankeed, intii xikmada ku sugnayd lama qorin oo waxay kamid tahay waxa loo yaqaan Oral Literature. And in an attempt to learn and delve into this immense literature am here seeking your help. Does anyone here have the poems of the following silsilado - iyagoo qoraal ah 1 - Halac-Dheere 2 - Guba 3 - Siinley 4 - Hurgumo Waryaa Nuune iyo Jamaalow jawaab baan idinka sugayaa...
  23. Fathia, extolling the virtues of these fat-bellied Arabs wont get you a passport. Whether youare forever singing their praises or slandering them, in their eyes you are still a Khaal or Muxtariq. You still will be considered inferior to them just like those poor Indians and Pakistanis labelled as Rafiiqs.
  24. I was merely surfing the net when i came across an article that somehow startled me. Is Xudeydi the father of Somaliland Music or is it a different Xudeydi the article is reffering to? Mise it is just a sheer audacity of some folks? Check the article Heesaaga Somaliland
