    Hard q to the power of 2!....damn..my brother, husband or son? ....if i had only one to save, probably my son, dependin on age too...young child has more to live for than a grown adult who may have had their time on earth...but God knows...only who ever's time is ending won't be saved...out of our hands...

     

    p.s.-if we said hubby, would look selfish on our part...how can we live together knowing we sacrificed our child? :eek:

    Yup....our dollar got pounded by their currency....i remember 200can was like 80pounds...sucked...

     

    apart from that...when on a trip...u gotta have a schedule...yes ur on vacation, but u dont wanna sleep the day away...u can do that at home...so what we did was planned what we wanted to see each day...museums, tourist destinations, got on their buses...etc....and got to see all of london pretty quick..makes the trip more memorable.....as for the homeland security issue...we were tryin to film Blair's home..passing by in a car and they waved us away...also put up barriers....so ppl couldnt take pics that were too close....also...the queens guards acted suspiscious when we tried to take pics with them, we actually captured one looking at us from his left eye...paranoid folks...

    About the no-wearing perfume thing....i heard that as well...and i think its ok as long as ur not taking a bath in it....and it makes sense not to wear it to a mosque b/c the idea is praying not alluring men to our dens....a puff will do...

    Garab...i too don't agree with half hijabis as i like to refer to them...either wear it the proper way with decent clothing, or don't disgrace it at all....if ur not ready to make the full commitment of changing ur clothes, then dont' wear the hijab for the sake...doesnt count much anyways.....other than that...rock on sistas...soon i'll join ur force...when im brave and my imam has improved...inshallah

     

    As to the greeting thing....i find some weird like others describe...for some reason...its a scene of mean girls the movie almost...u see somali sistas and immediately they look at each other with suspiscion.."is she or isnt she?"...then sometimes...its almost a lil competition...hataretion goin on....at least from what i viewed, not to over generalize....i do believe though that men in that respect may be slightly better than us...(that cost me a lot to say)...i admire how many of them meet each other and easily get into conversation while the girls look at each other sometimes with suspicion....

    island kiss is divine...i second that choice

     

    i'm more of a collector of all sorts for dif occasions...some for evenings, ie. stronger scents....and lighter scents for day and summer time... example....Versace Woman is not everyday wear, where as Noa, by cacherel can be....what my perfumes have in common usually is that they are more simple scents, nothing too overpowering but at the same time not loved by everyone...unique..maybe like me? smile.gif ...

     

    p.s.-light blue is another favorite...

    p.s.-we have entered another era of the salem witch trials, lets call this one somali-woman trials....so nauseating seeing each thread posted by some guy whining why women are this way and that way...i got a solution for u....since somali men are so spiffy and perfect, why not marry one? smile.gif ....since its legal in alot of places, go ahead, we'll look the other way....

    Garab, always using feminism to downplay ur feeble mind huh? u wanna address my comments, address them w/o pointing fingers kiddo...anyways, one cannot be a faulty muslim yet dishing out islamic rules...meaning...the ppl condemning this woman who admitted she had fornicated BUT did not consumate her marriage, meaning she didn't commit adultery but a lesser charge of zina..punishable by up to 100 lashes..he's not even getting that but carrying on with his life defiling young ladies....what pissed me off was that the man denied ever being with her therefore getting off scot free while she's left to deal with accusations...now..what kind of islam is that? not very islamic, therefore this court has just lost its direction and purpose, because they choose to apply it where they want...and all too often women take the fall...now do u get it? u don't? tell it to the judge...

     

    p.s.Ng, what have u done? this name doesnt suit u at all....i picture a sensitive gorilla rather than the fierce chest-thumping one u wanted to portray earlier.. ;)

    Garab, i've never said all men, i was addressing Og's faulty logic and giving him asinine answers as he was...and i do know that there are some women just like the men that are responsible for the failure of their marriages, but unlike Og, im not pointing the finger at just one and ignoring the rest.

    Reasons behind this post ladies and gents:

     

    A-Og was let down when a prospective xalimo ran for cover when she learned his bias and one track mind icon_razz.gif

     

    b-she realized he sucked at stats...with such examples as "all problems and divorces are due solely to somali women, men are exempt" :eek:

     

    c-views women as some"thing" to be trained...like a dog...ie-last post, he said "let's train em"...oh..oh...can we get a treat after that? u promise???? :rolleyes:

     

    d-he just lacks shukansi skills and likes to take it out on women...hint...ask the married men for tips how to get a woman and hopefully stay with one ;)

     

    p.s.-divorce is a problem in our community because all too often ppl marry those they cannot mesh with for life/marry for the wrong reasons..ie-kids right away, etc...OG, u want ur marriage to last? try respecting women, listening to their views, not blaming ur own insecurities on them, and take responsibilities for ur own actions...voila! soon after, u just might get urself an unsuspecting xawa...
