    ^^^I visited the link above and checked the news section.These people are very serious business minded people-with all the neck ties :D .My cousin is about to buy one of those white sand village houses.Hey what in the world those Philipinos or Mexicans doing there :D - oh i know the world is flat(as Thomas Freidman said),is Somaliland experiencing globalization?.Way to go Somaliland!

    ^^^thanks both of you guys!.I don't trust many government or tribal run medias.I think we all need one media enterprise where educating the public comes first; where fair and balanced isn't just a slogan, but a way of life in Somaliland/Somalia :D .

    ^^^^Suldanka, sorry for the confusion!.My question is whether radio Hargeysa is owned by the government.This question has nothing to do with the strike.The only reason i raised up radio hargeysa is because yesterday was the first time i listened to it-it was also where i got the strike info!.

    Call me a coward if you want,last memorial day weekend i went to the sixflags with a freind and an out-of state girl(kind of a date :D ).It was a sunny beautiful day -the tempreture dropped and the wind was cold and brisk.We parked the car and walked to the rides.This was the season where people enjoy their family fun together!.I was scared of the rides-this been only the second time i was trying.My heart was beating so fast you might think i needed an emergency paramedic in attendance!.This week a four year old died after riding one of the disney world rides.When i heard the news this morning the feared me asked, "what if i died on the six flags ride?".Do you think i will have made headlines like that innocent boy?. Rides kill people?

    News that are out -Puttin called Africans man eaters (depends on how you take it!).Check what Puttin said, i will quote him "“We know that in some African countries there was a practice of eating political opponents. We do not have such a tradition or culture and I think a comparison between Africa and Russia is not quite fair.†This is just plain funny-Is Puttin saying that cannibalism started in Africa? Read the news all the way down-you lazy out there! Are we cannibals?

    I am posting this since the marriage club is growing in the SOL family!.Love is not always pleasure.Little ones are brought to this world, nuisance to have their diapers changed,brats to keep one awake with their squalls in the night. :DStart taking care of the babies!

    With much respect to you brother Moti,Don't you think nature is good to us by giving us only men and women.What do you think we would have done if we had a third sex?.Don't you think the presence of female in this world brings that tender emotion, love and other delights!.One must not forget there is a great deal-whether bad or good traits- to be said equally of both men and women.We all do overlook the importance of the opposite sex.We are both pillars of each other-voltaire agreed!.But we don't notice this.Now i am not accusing you of looking down women-though whenever i read your posts i seem to spot this crud in your writtings :D .

    Way to go Ibrahim!.Kennessaw State is a local state school here in Georgia.I guess those of us who are interested in the medical career have someone to look up to!.The guy took the non- traditional way(getting his nursing degree first) of getting admited to medical school and made it!.We can all see the daylight if we work hard.One thing that is interesting in medicine is that you are your own boss.The residency life is not fun since you are that scut monkey who runs the hospital 24/7.But when you finish the residency the sky is the limit!.

    I beleive when someone gives for the sake of deriving good feelings, they act selfishly.

     

    So in essence, everyone is selfish in some way.

    The word selfish is a synonym of evil; the image it brings to our mind is of a warlord who trumbles on the corpses of innocent civilians :mad: .When i looked on merriam-webster online dictionary the word selfish came up us "concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself : seeking or concentrating on one's own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others".This defination does not tell us whether this is a good or bad thing-but we as a humanbeings can infer from our general prinicple what is good or bad.I said it before every one will always put his or her desires before anyone.When a father sends his sons to a good school he is doing it for his own selfish gain because he wants them to get good gardes and education.The father is doing what he wants-so he is a selfish!.We can play with the word as much as we want and interpret as we please depending whether we are a moralist or not.All we need is to balance between being a selfish hog and a selfless person.Baashi's idea of "tanti yaqan" will be a good one atleast for me!.

    To answer your question directly without racking the brain alittle bit my answer will be NO, but wait i need to try and see if i can make any sense!.First thing we all need to understand is that our self refers to our individual characteristics.These characterisitcs are either traits or attributes that set us apart from the rest of the Homo Sapiens.We all know that the individual self has a higher motivational value for identity whether being selfish or not selfish!.This means that no matter how hard we try we will always put our needs and desires first!.But then if we do put our individual self ahead of every one then why do we need to please the group?.The reason we need the group is because we as a human being need that protective buffer for the individual self to be safe(no one will help selfish when the hard time falls on him!).Don't you think a million men are more importance of one man?

    People engage in self presentation-for example not being selfish or being selfish- inorder to construct self concept and manage the impression others hold of them.Your presented self is a powerful tool for relating to other Homo Sapiens.Your desire to be selfish is build upon your self construction identity of either being enslaved to the norm or taking a different route.If you choose to be selfish it will only enhance your self goal while at the same time it will undermine your ability to manage what others think of you-that is if you care!.If you happen to go against the norm and alienate yourself, you will only satisfy your interpersonal need!.But if you belong to the group-that is if you are not selfish-you will gain pre-requisite for life comfort since no humanbeing have been able entirely to be self sufficient.Remember your self-presentation to other Homo Sapiens will determine your social life!. :D

    I am posting this as a humuor gunning article.I have no intention in any way making fun of any humanbeing grades!. Under Yale's grading system in effect at the time, grades between 90 and 100 equaled an A, 80-89 a B, 70-79 a C, 60 to 69 a D, and anything below that was a failing grade.Bush's highest grade at Yale was an 88 in anthropology, history and philosophy. He received one D in his four years, a 69 in astronomy, and improved his grades after his freshman year, the transcript showed.
