Santa Clara Man Accused Of Stealing $9M From Work here Federal agents are on the hunt for a former California Water Services Company employee, accused of stealing $9 million from his employer. Authorities believe he may have fled the country. According to court records, Abdirahman Ismail Abdi quit his job as an auditor at the company's San Jose headquarters on April 27th, but a janitor spotted him returning that night. Investigators say Abdi took two former co-workers computers to wire more than $9 million from the company to his bank account in Qatar. Authorities were able to block the transfers and were able to recover the money back. Investigators say the 32-year-old put his wife and two kids on a plane to Germany the following day. A week later, investigators say he activated a cell phone in British Columbia, Canada. Police have searched his Santa Clara apartment for clues. No one was home Wednesday night as a late rent notice hung on the front door. Abdi is not a U.S. citizen and in fact was deported back to Somalia in 2005.
