Somaliland: NEC oversees presidential election vote tallying underway

Hon. Abdikarim Iman Warsame, NEC’s Chairman has overseen presidential vote tallying cast at Marodi Jeh region.

NEC and SL’s main opposition party *(Wadani) have agreed to resume the cooperation after the party has consented that vote tallying should commence. Somaliland’s main opposition expressed its concern over number of polling stations citing irregularity. The party said that their concerns have not been resolved and fell into deaf ears. The suspension of the cooperation between opposition party and Wadani incited unrest and claimed the loss of lives and the vandalizing private properties. The two saw eye to eye on issues after both sides held two rounds of talks. Once NEC concludes presidential election vote tallying that it would announce the final results.
