Addis Ababa (HOL) - Ethiopian government has ordered president of Khatumo State of Somalia Mr. Ali Khalif Galyedh to leave Ethiopia. President Ali Khalif was in Addis Ababa to attend Conference on Federalism sponsored by Horn Economic and Social policy Institute(HESPI).

No explanation was given the deportation of President Ali Khalif from Ethiopia, but Somaliland and Puntland who oppose the formation of Khatumo State may have pressured Ethiopia government.

 

Mr. Ali Khalif Galydh was former Prime Minister of Somalia and member of the Somali Parliament.

 

Lawmakers of Khatumo State of Somalia elected him president on August 14, 2014
